Nice food in a perfect atmosphere 👍🏻🇬🇧🏍️. We had to wait a little bit because we were too early for dinner but they served us really fast. The Steak pie was delicious 😋😋😋😋

Spent two amazing nights at The George in one of lovely en suite rooms .Treated like old friends by the staff, amazing hospitality, a service you just don't get anymore.The food was amazing, everything cooked from local ingredients. The room was very comfortable with a level of attention to detail some hotels just can't achieve.

We received a very warm welcome from Clive and Ross last Friday. It’s very clear that they love what they do, the food was excellent!! Clive recommended a lager that’s specifically brewed for the Dog and Fox and it was blooming wonderful! They were so good with our son Jacob who’s 10, cooking him one of his favourites. I would recommend the Dog and Fox to anyone who is looking for that traditional English pub! (Not many left these days) We will be sure to return and I will look forward to enjoying a Sunday roast very soon.

I commute past this place during the week so it was good to finally sample its wares and experience a very nice beer garden. It had a good buzz going on, seemed like all walks of life were in there. Parking is not ideal though so if you've parked in the town, brace yourself for the hoof up Masons Lane! But you can just focus on the reward at the top and you'll be fine 😜

Excellent Ham, Egg & Chips and Pizza (very generous). Was disappointed with a teabag in a cup rather than a pot of tea - thought it rather let this special place down

We have been dining at the restaurant for years and it has been our go to special occasion place. We recently went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we were really underwhelmed by the menu and the quality of the food. We are vegetarian and there is always a few veggie / vegan menu options, which is always welcome. The starters were delicious and there were a good range of veggie/vegan choices. There were 2 main course options - pasta or a veggie burger. We ordered one of each so we could compare and contrast. The burger was £20 and was absolutely nothing special. It was a commercially made burger in a commercially made bun. It was served with 1 lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato and it looked very sad. I have had way better at Smash Burger. The pasta was ok. Dessert was also grim. The Paris Brest, was dry, solid and tasteless and the knickerbocker glory was a mishmash of cheap tasting strawberry ice cream, fruit and smashed meringue - which seemed to have come out of a packet.

Great steak and ale pie 👍👍👍👍. The choice was limited but on the plus side the quality was excellent. Fish was a little on the small side but tasty.
