Great visit today. We were looking for somewhere for a multi-generational Sunday Lunch, and the Dog and Fox was close to where we were staying. They were able to fix us in, all 11, at short notice. The food was ace, reasonably priced and lots of it. Really characterful place, great setting.

Visited the Dog and Fox for the first time with my wide and sister, today Sat 1st March for lunch. Excellent choices on the menu plus a daily special menu. Fancying a favourite lunch the meals chosen were Ham egg and chips and Fish and chips. Good pub food freshly cooked and served by friendly staff. Two deserts were chosen, Sticky Toffee pudding and an excellent crumble with ice cream which the two women thoroughly enjoyed. Drinks chosen sere Pinot Grigio wine and I gad a really really good pint of still cider, pity I was driving otherwise more would have been consumed. We will definitely be visiting again. A good country pub full of atmosphere, large outside area with children's play area.

Came here Saturday evening for a drink and food. As always, a really good atmosphere and a well thought out balanced menu with plenty of choice for all tastes and a menu of the day. We really enjoyed the vegetarian samosa followed by Coq au Vin and pork ribs supplemented by an excellent coleslaw, Chips and salad. Complements to the chef! Clive the landlord has put a lot of thought into his choice of beers, lagers, ciders and wines. We can’t recommend this pub highly enough for quality of food and drinks with a welcoming atmosphere. Great value good pub grub!

We received a very warm welcome from Clive and Ross. They were both very attentive with our 10 year old son which he loved. The food was excellent, the lager that they have on tap which is specifically brewed for the Dog and Fox was absolutely delicious!! What a gem of a pub, we will most certainly be back soon.

What a fabulous new year's eve at the Dog and Fox! Marvellous hosts great pint of Butty Bach served in beautiful surroundings in front of a roaring fire and a welcome glass of bubbly to toast in the new year. What more could you ask for? Well done Clive and the team yet again.

Been here twice now, once when it was very quiet for a lunch and yesterday for a Roast with extended family. Great food and fantastic service from all the staff. Owner very accomodating, friendly and great to chat with.

We used the Club Room at the back of the pub for a Christmas quiz party with friends. The space was fantastic. Warm and cozy (roaring wood burner) yet we had the space needed for our interactive quiz. We only had a small group of 6 but it can accommodate many more. Everyone had a great evening. Highly recommend it for a gathering.

Very good experience for a large group having lunch and drinks. Food and service was very good, despite them being short staffed due to the storm. The owner was very personable and accommodating - they also catered very well for gluten free. Very cosy pub!

We had a wonderful opportunity for 9 of us to celebrate a 91 year old mother and her eldest sons 70th birthday at the Dog and Fox Inn at Bradford on Avon. The beer on tap was good, the service timely and the food was spot on. The Landlord and his staff were attentive at the right times and we had a very relaxed Sunday lunch. An interesting story was told about the old wall machine and the art on the wall in the toilets! Thoroughly recommended and would definitely go back again.

This place is ok, but not worth any of the hype. The food is alright but not delicious, and the wait staff are very under trained, which isnt their fault but the pubs. There was a christmas menu but when someone on my table got the turkey roast (£18) there was no stuffing or pigs in blankets, just a change of meat. I wouldnt bother going here again, but its fine.

We went to The Dog and Fox in Bradford on Avon on Sunday as a table of 14 to celebrate my grandmothers 94th Birthday! Everything about our experience was excellent. They gave us our own private room with one long table to accommodate everyone. We had the fire lit and wonderful music playing which my grandmother loved. From the service, to the food (even happily accommodating some fussy eaters) to the drinks everything was exactly how we wanted it to be! Would highly recommend and will definitely be heading back!! Lovely and friendly staff from when we came in until we left and lovely to our dog and gave him a treat! The service felt very personal and interacted with us throughout. Excellent country pub nestled close to Bradford on Avon. Clive the Landlord is always very friendly and welcoming. The food is top quality (triple cooked chips are the star of the menu!). Plenty of Gluten Free options. Dog friendly.

Food was very good we had four different meals and everyone enjoyed their food. Service was good but the only criticism I would say was it was chilly in side the pub/restaurant area but it wouldn’t stop me going again.

Food was excellent with full of flavour and a great presentation. We all had the Sunday roast. Lovely food and first class service.

This pub is off the beaten track but well worth the detour. Food is excellent and service is always good. There was live music in the garden and it was well attended. Ample parking and easy access from footpaths and back lanes.

Had the Bangers and Mash last night. Probably the best I've ever had. The Mash was silky smooth and had bacon bits in it (genius), with a lovely gravy to top it off with the bangers. cracking.

We went here for lunch on a Saturday with our dog. We sat outside and there was a lovely buzz to the pub with people eating and drinking. Very relaxed atmosphere, super staff / service and easily the best ploughman's we've ever had. You can tell it's family run and they really care about what they do. We'll definitely be back and looking forward to getting hemmed in for a winter pint!

Amazing local pub, tucked away at the top end of Bradford on Avon. Good wholesome meals without being fancy and pretentious, at very reasonable prices. Staff are always friendly. A lovely outdoor space to enjoy a meal and or pint on a sunny day. Great play equipment for the kids. Just an overall winner in my eyes!

This would be a 5 star review if they had just one good modern craft beer on tap. The food and atmosphere are excellent but I can't drink Landlord all night. Updated: Now with Brewdog Wingman on tap so upgraded to 5*. Fantastic pub, lovely situation, friendly staff and regulars. What more could you want.

We came here for my Dad’s 60th birthday after canal boating for the day. I was so happy we chose this place! The food was DELICIOUS and from the get go the owner was so lovely and actually brought out a branded mug for my dad as a memorable gift of his 60th birthday, he was so chuffed - such incredible, welcoming service. The interiors were lovely - the perfect little country pub. The children who had been on the boat all day were very happy about a little playground on the garden to have a runaround on before sitting down so that was an unexpected plus. The car park wasn’t huge and as there was an event on in the garden, it was full but we could park down the road and walk up so not a problem for us. Thank you for a lovely meal and fantastic service.

One of my locals for thirty odd years. Clive has managed to retain that Country pub atmosphere and accomodate a wide range of clientele. The beer is always well kept, food is good honest pub-grub and the garden is the best place to be in Bradford on Avon on a warm sunny evening. Thoroughly recommended!

OMG what a difference, doesn't look too different but the food was excellent tonight, first time I have genuinely had good food there. Also the server was nice, friendly and knowledgeable, if a bit over worked! We'll come back because it's worth it rather than because it's convenient. Keep up the good work.

Frequent visitors of this lovely rural pub. Great food and atmosphere, lovely garden where you can sit and watch the sun set. Also brilliant function room where we held a birthday party that was well supported by the pub with great food and service.

A truly wonderful establishment in a delightful rural setting but just a short stroll into the historic town centre. We had an excellent dinner in the sunny garden which was great value and served by friendly, efficient hosts and the charming landlord. There is a play area to keep children amused and plenty of bowls of clean fresh water for dogs from the garden tap. A great find. We will visit again when in the area.

Perfect meal… Scampi and Chips twice and Ham, Double egg and Chips… couldn’t fault anything. Perfectly cooked, totally delicious. Finished with a Crumble and Ice Cream. Clean plates all round. Can’t recommend enough…

What a delightful country pub, serving excellent food and beers. Peaceful location. A very relaxed comfortable feel inside and also lots of tables outside in the garden. The landlord was a friendly chap with very nice staff serving and waiting tables. We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch and sitting in the garden after. We will definitely return.

Aways heard of this place but had never been, and today we did. Beautiful place fantastic selection of gins, and beers. Great outdoor garden space which will be beautiful in the summer. We decided to eat as they were serving all day and most importantly they offered a range of gluten free options. Being a coeliac this is very important to me, and to find somewhere which dedicates a fryer to this is lovely to find. We met the landlord and very accommodating team and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Home cooked food was beautiful, my partner had the pie of the day, which even had its own dog and fox stamp on it. I was able to enjoy fish and chips which never happens in a pub!! We will mostly definitely be and back and highly recommend. This a proper pub serving quality food.

Best roast I have for a very long time. The chef also prepared a delicious gf alternative for one of our guests with an intolerance. Felt very looked after and cannot recommend enough.

Walk every week round the villagers round Bradford on Avon which we love. Wanted to venture out a little and found a pub which looked to be on a road but was really quiet. Food was amazing (haddock and chips). So quiet. Staff lovely (especially Haley). Lovely garden. Worth the walk up from Bradford on Avon 5⭐

Delicious, fresh food. We visited on a busy Friday late afternoon for a drink and after seeing the new menu decided to stay for dinner. Everything was great and we all said we can’t remember the last time we ate out and weren’t disappointed by either the food or service but the Dog and Fox definitely did not disappoint. We got the chicken burger, loaded chilli fries and feta bruschetta. Was great to find out when we got the bill that the burger was on offer for only £10!

What a brilliant pub! The food was fantastic (had Sunday roast - beef was superb, and served with a splendid array of noticeably tasty vegetables), the staff friendly and the atmosphere convivial. Oh, and the beer! Timothy Taylor’s Landlord on tap is a rare find outside Yorkshire, and it tasted every bit as good here!

Quintessential British Pub right here. We stayed in the cottages just up the road (189 April Cottages.. Check them out, amazing) and took a wander to this pub. The food was amazing, we had cottage pie and the burger followed by sticky toffee and an egg custard tart. Loved it. Great service, well kept beer, nice place. Would recommend

We have just been for a mother's day meal and had an amazing roast. The beef was cooked to perfection, the children had a chicken roast which again was cooked perfectly even though we were booked in for 3.45pm all the food was perfect. The staff were friendly even though it was really busy. Thank you it made a mum very happy.

Visited this lovely hidden gem for Mother's day and couldn't have chosen a better venue for the day. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious. No long waits or rushed floor staff, the kitchen team did a wonderful job as the pub was full for our entire visit. A perfectly relaxed and lighthearted atmosphere, I cannot recommend this place enough and i'll definitley be returning soon.

The service was terrible with not one single member of staff even having a smile and the food was terrible and not very warm, roast dinner with beef like insoles and I reckon there must of been a hole in the dish as no sign of cauliflower in the cauliflower cheese and the brocoli must of had a reaction to boiling water as like bullets, £145 wasted

We did a pub stopover in our motorhome here last week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Walked into Bradford on Avon for a bit of sightseeing and then returned for a few drinks and a nice meal in the cosy and dog friendly pub. Would definitely return.

Went here for our staff Christmas party. The food provided was good although the chicken strips were a bit hot and spicy for my tastes but the atmosphere, along with the company, in this very pleasant country pub made it a really enjoyable night. The staff were polite and the Landlord made us all feel very welcome.

Cracking pub we found by chance. Look out for the sign, coming from Bath before you reach Bradford on Avon. Great food, great staff and excellent atmosphere. We will be back!

Lovely pub off the beaten track! I found this pub by looking through reviews and made sure we came to see for ourselves, quiet Thursday lunchtime.... but, best food I've had for a while and like a reviewer before me has already said ....Best chips I've ever had!

Lovely beer garden in a quiet part of BoA

Clive and Izzy stepped in at the last minute to help at a family wake. They put on a fantastic spread and were incredibly accommodating, the venue worked really well and helped turned a difficult day into a celebration.

Stopped for lunch here, and I am pleased we did. A very warm and cosy pub with a welcoming atmosphere. Great food and attentive and caring staff.

A gem of a find! Very friendly and attentive staff. Prices are fair. Our Sunday roast looked superb, I didn't even get to take a photo as we tucked straight in! The pork was cooked to perfection, a generous portion with crispy crackling on top. The red cabbage was also a highlight. The puddings were great with a good selection. To top it all of with this quirky building there were two fireplaces cracking away as we watched the rain through the window. Perfect Sunday afternoon 👌
