Six friends, we stayed at the hotel for four days. The restaurant food was superb and the staff knowledgeable and very helpful. All dishes were well presented and very tasty.

I thought I would book dinner at the hotel as a surprise for my husband as we got married in this lovely hotel exactly 5 years ago. I emailed ahead of time and told them it was our anniversary and why we I wanted to book a table there. What a let down…the hotel has changed so much since we got married there in 2017. When we first arrived the receptionists were cold and not at all welcoming,we didn’t even get a happy anniversary from any of the staff which I thought was so unthoughtful. I explained I was gluten free and was given a normal menu and was told anything could be made gluten free. Great I thought, the food was horrendous.. I had a pie with different ingredients in to what was on the menu, the salad it came with was a couple of limp lettuce leaves and some potato wedges that were ok and the best thing on the plate! My husband had a steak and it was ok, certainly not worth the amount we were charged for though as the quality was not great. The poor young waitress gave us the wrong menu…I don’t blame her as she was doing the best she could and kept apologising for the mistakes. We were given a complimentary dessert as we had over a 30 min wait for dessert …great, checked the bill and we had been charged for it so again the poor waitress sorted that out on her own. There were two conferences on at the hotel and the staff were clearly overwhelmed. Such a disappointment, over priced poor quality food, lack of staff and just completely down hill. I pity anyone planning an event here as it’s changed so much.

Ok the service was slow but the food quality certainly made up for it. Everyone had fantastic comments to say and the burger was one of the best burgers tasted this year, this was big and excellent value. The breakfast was even better, good quality ingredients are used and not greasy, best sausages i have had for ages.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, and decided to eat here on the first night (Monday). Upon check-in, we were advised to book a table, so we made a reservation for 6:30pm. When we entered the restaurant, it was very quiet, with only one other couple dining. It was really quiet, and the lack of music created a bit of an awkward environment. The two young waiters were very attentive, asking for our drinks orders straight away. We ordered the wild mushroom starter to share, which was very tasty and was a good size, considering we wanted to save ourselves for mains. I then ordered the Vegetable Goulash with pasta, and my boyfriend ordered the duo of pork. The ‘Goulash’ was not a goulash at all - it was just spaghetti with tomato sauce, full of onions, baby corn, mushrooms and peppers. It was really bland and quite boring to eat however the portion was very large. The pork was very tender and tasty - however the three small boiled potatoes and steamed veg served with it were extremely bland. There were only two veggie options to choose from, only one being vegan. On the up side, the desserts were very nice and sizeable. Service was quick without feeling rushed, and the restaurant did get a little busier as the evening went on. Overall, it was a very forgettable meal which is overpriced for the quality of the dishes.

Good value and if anything portions are too big! You probably don't need a starter as we could not get through our mains.

We ate in the restaurant on two nights on our recent stay. The first night the food was really good and we really enjoyed our meal. The second night was disappointing I had smoked haddock with potatoes, there wasn't much haddock and the potatoes looked as if they had been beaten up and thrown on the plate. Not very appetising. We did mention this and an allowance was made on the bill.

The choice and quality of food is what you would expect from a hotel restaurant, the service about average.

This is a very bright and comfortable space to dine, and the service was attentive when we ate during the week. It may be less so when there are functions on. The food was OK but not outstanding, the lentil and chorizo bed for my chicken was certainly a lot blander than I was expecting. The menu was not extensive, but there would be enough for most people to make a choice. If I had been nearer home I am sure I would not be tempted back.

I don't know about the rooms but the food was like school dinners and although staff were friendly, glimpsing waiters playing football in the disco between courses wasn't very professional. Looks like a lovely old building but look closer and see its rather dilapidated and in dire need of some renovation

Two day business event with lunch and dinner both days. Conservatoire restaurant? We were shoved into a pokey, dark back room with no windows!!! Lunch was okay but dinner was as bad as you will ever get. The bread rolls were at least a month old and required power tools to cut. Sea bass drowned in butter and barely enough veg to go around - no more available! The bread with the over bland pate was the cheapest of the cheap and had been toasted at least a month ago. Lemon syllabub was actually a wine glass of whipped cream with a slice of lemon on the top. Several complaints were made over the 2 days but nobody ever came back. Shocking food and service!! Seriously not recommended!!!!

Evening meal only. Welcome very good, nice atmosphere. Service attentive and food was good. My wife enjoyed hers more than I did as mine seemed to go cold quite quickly. Nonetheless, reasonably priced for what was on offer in pleasant surrounds

Philippa on reception was great - really friendly. Lisa, the restaurant supervisor was wonderful - som helpful and friendly, even cutting my toddlers fish fingers up for her! Food was pretty good. I wouldn't go for dinner specifically, but would recommend the hotel (and then dining there if you are staying). The barman needs to cheer up a bit, and at £4.20 a bottle of Bud, make sure he is closing the fridge door so that they are at least cold.

Everyone enjoyed the full english breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the gardens and countryside. Although one of our wedding guests arrived late, the manager was very understanding and provided her requested breakfast.

Brilliant service even though they had over 100 guests. Food was fantastic and the best we've had even though we have dined out on Christmas Day for many years. This is so much better than the other Best Western hotel in Bath that we have used in privious years. Everything here was properly organised and carried out with impeccable style. Will be back for Christmas 2015 for sure.

The external aspect of the hotel promises tradition and potentially high standards. i should have realised that my expectations were too high. firstly the wine/bar waiter had to advise the group that there was only one chilled tonic for a G&tT. there were 3 in our party and we were shown to the table, the waitress negated to ask if we wanted any drinks with dinner when she took our order. after the starters arrived we has to request bread although the understanding was that it was included in the set menu. We had to ask for wine, no offer of water for the table. breakfast was disappointing too although it really is difficult considering the choice available The setting is good but failed to live up to the potential, none opt the staff appeared to know what customer service is.

We were resident and the table d'hote dinner menu barely changed for 3 nights. There is one fish dish (sea bass at the time), one veggie option, one chicken dish, lamb and steak. There are interesting looking starters and 4 desserts. service is a bit variable but OK. £24.95 for 2 courses. A lovely room with nice views.

We had our work christmas meal at the leigh park hotel. The soup for starter was luke warm although tasted good and was served with bread rolls. For my main course I had the vegetarian option 'tortellini'. This tasted like the microwave tortellini you can buy and the sauce it was in was just warm chopped tomatoes chucked over the top! The desert profiteroles were delicious, the best part of the meal. The room was set up nicely and the staff were friendly and well organised although none of them commented on how I had left nearly all of my main, or asked how the meal was.Drinks were well priced and the cocktails were good. Unforrunately I would not go again after this experience.
