The Castle Inn in Wiltshire

Had the Roast dinner at the Castle today and would absolutely recommend it was delicious.

Went for breakfast, staff were friendly and helpful. Portion size was underwhelming for the price, parking outside is awful, as is rejoining the flow of traffic on a very busy roundabout.

The chicken supreme was truly deserving of the name.

Great overnight stay for a wedding, staff were great and really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast was lovely.

Brilliant place for a drink with friends. Yet to try the food, but what I saw looked great with enough variety on the menu.

Can't fault the Sunday roast, and the service was friendly and efficient. We'll definitely be back for more. We're we even persuaded to try a local lager which was very nice.

Stopped in for lunch (Fish goujons in ciabatta with chips) and a cheeky pint (Palmers IPA). Compliments to the chef - absolutely nailed it. Unpretentious but upmarket pub grub, cooked to perfection. The chips were spot on, ciabatta was fresh, and the fish was delicious - even the dressing on the side salad was tasty! Friendly bar staff whenever I've been in, good size garden, nice interior, decent bar selection... A cracking pub.

Went here for our anniversary and took the dog. From the minute we got there the staff were friendly and very attentive dog loved it as he got free treats and fresh water. Drinks were reasonably priced which makes a change. The food was excellent 👌. Had the 8oz rump with onion rings and the seabass. Peach cobbler was equally excellent to finish off a lovely evening. Fully recommend and I will definitely be going again. Thank you castle for a lovely experience

We went to the mini festival on Saturday night. We've been to many festivals and gigs over the years and this was by far the best organised. Plenty of staff who were all very young but fantastic. I'd definitely go again.

This pub is fabulous! The staff,especially the recently appointed manager were so attentive, friendly and professional. We visited on more than one occasion and Our meals were of restaurant quality each time. Highly recommend the grilled sea bass and the stuffed mushroom dish. Welcomed as we walked in and left after enjoying a truly positive experience.

Superb Sunday roast - generous portions and selection of meats given. Local cider was lovely. Dog friendly indoors and out. Service was quick and friendly.

We visited for breakfast and came across too many issues for me to explain here. Awful service and awful response to errors. These issues will reoccur for other customers unless changes are made. This review will remain until I'm contacted and the problems have been addressed, it was worst organisation I've ever seen from a pub/cafe/restaurant.

Very poor management of a food order mistake. A kids meal was ordered and an adult meal arrived which had already taken 30 minutes. So we asked for a refund of the difference in cost. This was refused because we accepted the meal that was ready. If we had waited for the kids meal to be cooked then we would not have eaten together !! We won’t eat at The Castle again.

We visited here for Sunday lunch because we’ve heard good things and we’re not disappointed the food staff and service were all excellent. We’ll definitely be back.

There are wonderful people running The Castle Inn. They are so friendly, happy, and always smiling. We enjoyed dinner and a pint before going to our room. The room and bathroom are spacious, a good shower with plenty of hot water, the bed was comfortable, and the noise level was very low. We could hardly hear any noise from the street or the bar downstairs, which was full and open until 11 pm. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I couldn't finish everything on my plate. I especially enjoyed the coffee and our server, who didn't mind at all making a cappuccino on request. We had a great stay here.

Good to see this place open again. Stopped for a quick shandy post-golf (at nearby Cumberwell Park). Stone floors, real fires, knocked-about, mismatched furniture, lazy-Sunday vibe: what's not to like?

Absolute gem on a wintery evening sitting by the open fire with I reasonably priced pint of ale. Staff are all friendly and welcoming. A must if you're in Bradford on avon.

We were staying close by as a huge group of 20, so we came here for a Sunday roast and it was lovely! Despite being such a large group it was quick service. Friendly staff and beautiful location! Thank you again ☺️

Really good service, good beers

Just popped in for a drink as a break to a long drive. So can't comment on food or service really. Lovely and quiet. Loved the fact that there was a group of cyclists in there with all their bikes parked outside. Couldn't see a lot of parking. We parked at the front....about 5 spaces. Maybe more at the rear?

As part of a group celebration I was not expecting the quality meal that I received. Served piping hot and perfectly cooked and presented. A big achievement when serving 35 people

Stayed just one night for a flying visit to Bradford on Avon. This lovely Inn was the perfect place. The young staff were all absolutely excellent, the bar was lovely, our room was great and breakfast was just right.

Great place to stay as well as eat and drink. We stayed two nights in a lovely room with a huge bath, which is why we booked this hotel. The fact it’s also a lovely old pub with great restaurant was an added bonus. Great room, great staff, good beer and lovely food. Highly recommended.

Al estar cerca del Airbnb que cogimos, decidimos probarlo. La primera vez pedimos dos principales, que estaban brutales pero, la segunda vez que, solo pedimos unos entrantes nos decepcionó mucho. El personal encantador. De lunes a viernes nos dijeron que con el principal tienes una bebida gratuita. Muy recomendable si es para pedir principales.

Stunning food, great staff, great atmosphere.

For £150 a night, it's disappointing. Room was fine, clean, good shower but bed was dated, tired sprung mattress. Continental breakfast was bread, cereal, prepackaged croissant, but good coffee. No cheese or meat. It's up the hill from the town and a tough walk back up. Went for an evening meal expecting to get an Uber back but none responded. Staff great. Dedicated parking provided.

Disappointing - fries were like matchstick crisps and almost cold. We did send them back and no problem about hot replacements but definitely not French fries in my experience. Husband’s steak was good but my falafel burger was stogy and served on a plank. I like my food on a plate. stodge on a plank!! Service was cheerful and welcoming. Shame about my food.

We had taken our son out for a meal to celebrate the new school year and waited 45mins for the food. We then went back and asked to have it as a takeaway as it was getting late. Food arrived 15mins later with no apology and the person serving us was abrupt. It is our local pub and it is not the first time this has happened. Really disappointed and won't be rushing back

Very disappointing experience and won't go back any time soon, we called ahead of our visit to check when food was being served and if we needed to book a table, were told over the phone that food was going to be served all day and there was no need to book, we were then told after we had sat down and ordered drinks that they were not going to serve any food as the kitchen was too busy prepping for the arrival of a larger party, no response to the question why we were given the wrong information and we then had to find another pub with 3 hungry children and 4 adults. Customer service was absolutely shocking and not the way you would like to be treated on a family day out with visiting relatives from abroad.

A beautiful pub, warm an cosy inside, the garden is lush, I could sit the all afternoon into the nite, The staff are friendly and happy to help, I had the butter milk burger, (home made) and it was awesome ! Best Iv had in a long time, chips where banging to, It’s nice to go somewhere that tick all the boxes

Visited on a lunchtime,not many in but good friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed a very tasty sandwich, staff were very attentive and friendly. If l lived nearer it would definitely be my local.

Popped in for dinner tonight, a last minute decision. Service was excellent but the food was outstanding, both my fiancée and I commented that the conversation simply stopped when the food arrived it was so good. Chris had the lamb steak, beautifully cooked with figs, I had the stuffed chicken breast. Probably the best pub meal we’ve ever eaten, thank you.

Great service and food, I had the burger which was superb and my wife had the Sunday roast (chicken) she said the best roast she's had in a pub. Only downside was the ale, a little too warm and I tried all three they had on over two days, shame because it's never tried any of these beers before, highly recommended for the food and service though.

Had a wonderful 1-night stay here at the weekend. Wished we had booked for 2 nights! Room was absolutely lovely, in fact the whole building was full of character, with period pieces and beautiful furniture. The food in the restaurant was cooked to perfection! Last but definitely not least: the staff. Everyone we spoke to was happy, friendly and helpful. It put me at my ease immediately. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay extra special. I would recommend The Castle Inn in a heartbeat!

We love the Castle! That's how we call it, it is just up the road from our house so it's an amazing place to hang out, to hide away and to entertain the kids. We had another stunning kids' party for Easter organised by the lovely Stacey and her staff, children had a couple of hours fun filled activities on the lawn as the weather was great, we had some good relaxing time with friends and family. What more could we want? 30 kids here all had a ball! Food and drinks are fabulous, lovely bar staff and chef. I love the place, it has many characters with the deco plus the most important thing is I always feel so well looked after when we are here. It is a place for all occasions, being a work do, a quite meeting in the morning times in the back room which has an opening to the main area so you feel you are hidden away but not excluded, it is a beautiful place for couples, families , kids and four legged friends. I have been here all day for my own work on the laptop, I felt at ease. Many thanks again everyone in THE CASTLE !

Чекали хвилин 25-30. Не досить нормально. Кафе знаходиться поряд з жвавою дорогою, тому треба враховувати, що затишного перебування можна досягнути лише на задньому дворі. Всередині в залі є камін. Можна посидіти з чашкою чаю чи кави біля нього і відпочити

Went for a meal Monday late afternoon. We ordered Haddock and chips. Chips and peas very nice however the Haddock was inclosed in the most unusual flavourless batter and as for the Haddock, well if it was not on the menu as Haddock you would not have known it. Not completely detoured

3 of us booked for a Christmas meal, we were put at the back of the building and it was cold. The food was very good and would recommend it, however next time I'd like to be in the main area where it was warm and had a better atmosphere.

A perfect "watering hole"! Hard to beat, especially from the friendliest staff. You would have to travel a long way to find somewhere better, and that might be a hard task.

Lovely old world pub serving a good choice of well kept beers. Varied menu with traditional pub food. I had a chicken burger which was delicious. The Castle is one of the few food serving pubs open on a Monday. Limited parking at the pub. Dog friendly. Certainly one of the top three pubs in Bradford on Avon and probably the best if looking to eat.

I have been drinking at the castle for years, however this weekend I had my first Sunday lunch for many years. It was amazing! best roast dinner I have eaten for years. Not only that but John and the team provide the highest standard of friendly service! couldn't recommend enough

Just had a wonderful time at the Castle, really well organised Halloween kiddie party allowing parents some time to chat n drink. Great wee garden for kids to play while parents relax with a pint!

We came here for dinner a couple of weekends ago as a group of 6 with 3 dogs and were looked after so well. The staff were so friendly towards us and the dogs - the gentleman behind the bar was really inviting too. The food was delish also!

I’am not one for reviews but the last three meals here have been excellent. The pie last night was incredible ( only pressure was to finish it). The front of house team are always welcoming ,good choice of beers & ciders what more can you ask for from a pub !

Good beer, friendly staff, nicely done. Except the thimble of tomato sauce - why!?! But ask for the bottle. Other than that the food has been pretty good the last couple of weeks
