Cozy and upscale pub, nice selection of hearty pub grub and a warm cozy dining area to enjoy the meal. It did take a good 5 passes of serving staff before someone acknowledged us waiting at the restaurant reception to sign into our booking, but perhaps it was a busy nice as the service otherwise was great.

*edit following my stay: to be fair I have been incredibly impressed by the response to my original review. They have made several changes to the room since my stay (and sent me photos) including a new radiator, a new higher shower head, new bedside tables and refreshing the paint and blinds. I’ve not returned since so can’t verify this but it looks like from the pictures it has improved significantly, plus they said they had a new terrace management plan in place.* Maybe because it has a sign outside saying Times Hotel of the Year, I had high expectations for the Bath Arms but it fell pretty short of them. I booked a small room for a night and it wasn’t cheap (£185). It said a small room so I obviously didn’t expect it to be large, but nothing in the pictures when booking indicated that it would be so narrow around the bed that you can’t walk down the side of the bed, nor that there is no bedside table. It also said that it is a live pub, so to expect some noise, which was fine. My room was in an outside block (again not that you have any indication of this before checking in) and the windows back onto the outside terrace. They are single glazed and incredibly mouldy. There were people outside being fairly loud when I got ready for bed at around 10pm, but I figured that is part of it being a working pub. But by about twenty past eleven, I was wondering when they were going to be moved inside, or told to quieten down. It wasn’t just talking, it was proper shrieking and shouting. I tried to ring the number for the Bath Arms (given it said it was staffed until 11:30) and no one answered after multiple tries. I then (after being hesitant to) tried the number on my key that was the out of hours emergency number, but again, no response. Who knows what happens in the event of an actual emergency! Eventually I tried calling another pub in the Beckford Group who picked up almost immediately (and were very kind and apologetic) and were eventually able to get hold of someone in the pub I was staying at, and the noise stopped at about 11:45pm. Bearing in mind breakfast was 07:30-09:30! When I went to shower the next morning, I found that I was too tall to stand under the main shower head. I am 5’8” - not a giant! This meant that I had to use the smaller shower head and stand in front of the glass, so water went everywhere. This seems like such an obvious design flaw… and I am shocked no one noticed it or thought about it. There is more mould in the bathroom, the blind is stained with weird brown stains, and the paint and plaster are peeling off. There were positives to the room- the bedding seems very nice and the toiletries were also great- full sizes of multiple products for you to use. There was a TV although the interior walls were paper thin- I could hear the people next door to me’s conversation, and their alarm going off in the morning… Then I went to breakfast and got a vegetarian breakfast. There is a cold breakfast spread but literally nothing you would not get at a Premier Inn breakfast buffet (apart from maybe vodka for a Bloody Mary)- cereal, cheap toast spreads, orange juice from a long life carton etc. I got a vegetarian cooked breakfast and the ‘slow cooked mushrooms’ were literally stone cold inside (not that there was anyone around to tell this to or who asked how it was). There was also no one interested in my stay when I checked out- I left the key on the reception desk because there was no one there, and told a girl working there on my way out and she just said thank you. The area is nice and the ambience of the old pub is nice, but the stay simply did not reflect the cost

We went for Sunday lunch 6th October 2024 and were blown away by how amazing it was. I am super fussy, not about food but the quality, taste, quality of ingredients etc. Everything about our lunch was more than 10/10 and I never say this. We often come away having paid a lot for food, and whilst not cheap end it was worth every penny. The service was excellent, table spotless and there is nothing to be negative about.

We live quite close but haven't been for years. We decided to go for Sunday lunch and OH BOY we weren't disappointed. The food was simply delicious in every way. Veg was fresh, tasty and not cooked to death, meat was superb and the whole plate of food was piping hot. Service was friendly, helpful, kind informative. I'd never had for example, lavender as a flavour and the Bath Arms do their own home made lavender soda. Now don't think flowery taste or revolting flavour, oh no, it was off the scale with just being amazing: I urge you all to they it as you will keep going back for more! Tables and restaurant were pretty much full but you didn't feel hemmed in, it was super cosy and relaxing. Whilst its not cheap or a bog standard carvery, (It isn't a carvery) you get what you pay for, a delicious beautifully made plate of food.

We wanted a mid-week treat to recharge for a couple or nights and this was perfect. Quietly luxurious and elegantly understated: we were welcomed in such a personal way-with Katie the manager coming to say hello when we were having drinks in the bar after dinner in local Warminster on our second night. (We had a beautiful dinner in the hotel on our first night.) Despite the obvious quality it was amazing value for money-with a delicious honecoked breakfast included. We'll be heading to one of their local sister hotels soon.

Beautiful pub wuth the most incredible outdoor space covered and uncovered wuth secret gardens hidden sandpits and a country relaxed very chic vibe garden complimented by cosy rooms and fires inside ..: this place is such a find… it’s simply stunning. Now on to the food … we had the most tiniest fish n chips as it sounded incredible and couldn’t resist … it came with a GF batter, and home made curry sauce, mushy peas and a tartare sauce … it was heaven on a plate. The staff in particular the young blonde friendly guy behind the bar and Beth our waitress could not have made us feel more welcomed and cared for. Honestly if you want somewhere delicious to eat, with impeccable service in stunning surroundings go here and then treat yourself to a walk after up to Heavens Gate for a dreamy day date. Beth I hope you get your read this … your kindness to my mum and I was so appreciated and we are both so looking forward to coming over again … your service was incredible … a real gem xx

If your face doesn't fit, don't even bother coming here. Today is the last day of our holiday in the local area. We had a drink here a few days ago and thought how nice it was, so we decided we'd like to have a meal this evening. We arrived just after 5pm ordered a drink and asked if we could eat? The young lady serving us was unsure so had to consult her colleague. A rather pompous young man asked if we were staying with them.....and because we weren't we could only have a bar snack because they were fully booked this evening!! We wanted to eat now, not later and i told him so! Apart from there being locals in the bar area, the place was virtually empty! Said young man then wafts past our table with meals for 'residents ' sitting outside....clearly NOT a bar snack! So why can the chef only cook bar snacks for us, but anything else for everyone else? Not good customer service. As I said at the beginning of my review.....If your face doesn't fit, you're clearly not welcome here. Left feeling quite cross, disappointed and hungry. If we stay in the area again, we'll be sure to avoid The Bath Arms!!

Absolutely shocking service, food was just shouted at us and put on the table, staff walked round with one of our plates for a long time not able to figure out where we were. Grilles halloumi was served raw and burnt in the grill lines and the pizza was served uncut with a small knife, (accessibility requirements) I could not use a knife to cut it so we tried to ask for a pizza cutter and a woman told us there were no pizza cutters and when I tried to ask for scissors (3 times) I got rudely interrupted and constantly told “we have no pizza cutters”, took around 30 minutes for food to arrive and it wasn’t even warm. And I must add that there is no wheelchair ramps so the establishment is not accessible for anyone at all. Staff were giggling in the other room not knowing where their staff were to ask them questions.

What a disappointment. After all the good reviews we left knowing that we will not return. We had a family lunch on Saturday. Six adults one toddler and one baby. The staff were pleasant and attentive, albeit it a touch patronising - 'Have we chosen our starter?' is not how I expect to be addressed. Four of us ordered Fish and Chips - the batter was bitter - presumably because the oil has not been refreshed adequately and the fish was pretty tasteless. Three of us did not finish the fish. My thirteen chips - yes thirteen, were good, if a bit difficult to find. My wife had Chickpea salad which was more salad than chickpea with almost no flavour - it was all green. We ordered Mac n cheese for the toddler - this came out last and was absolutely red hot. Anyone with toddlers knows that they need to eat immediately - not waiting ten minutes for the meal to be cool enough to handle. What a shame we were so looking forward to this meal.

A party of five friends for dinner: The eperience was pleasant enough overall, but that's all. On the good side, the decor was very pleasant and there was room enough to walk around the tables comfortably. Good beer too, but slow arriving. Quite good food all round, except my 'rare' steak came medium rare. It was OK, and although no steak knife was provided, it cut well enough with a regular knife. Not the tastiest, or biggest, steak ever at £30. I asked the staff if I could buy one of the beer glasses and was told it was £10 cash only. Tbh less than impressed. Won't rush back.

This place used to deliver an exceptional Sunday lunch but the last few visits have been a little off - the food and the service. Waited over an hour for roast beef. Cauliflower cheese consisted one small floret per plate. Two roast potatoes per plate were cooked beyond crispy and were dry. My beef was actually very good but two others were dry and the gravy congealed on the plate. Impossible to get staff attention to ask for horseradish, drinks and additional gravy. Considering the price - it should be better.

Booked for a family dinner for my mums birthday. She is a vegetarian and I know menu online was an example but was hoping that that it would have been up to date or in addition to this a daily specials board of which there wasnt one. She had the Gnocchi, it was very bland and completely dry. I had the hake was cooked perfectly however was lined with bones and these should easily have been spotted by the chef. Hubby had the burger which too was overcooked and dry. This isn't fair priced pub grub this is very pricey top end prices and for the price tag the food should be spot on which it wasn't.

We visited back in April for an excellent dinner after a visit to Longleat. We had such a nice meal that we decided to return again and this time stay a few days. We stayed in room 3 which had an extremely comfy bed and views towards the estate so that we could see the hot air balloons flying over from our bed. (It was the Sky Safari weekend). Once again we had a wonderful meal in the restaurant on our first night and scrumptious breakfasts in the morning. All the staff were very friendly and I look forward to visiting some of the others in the chain to see if they are equally good.

However, the pub side has a few tables and if we got there early, chances were we could have a table. So we did just that, turned up just after midday. We sat next to the beautiful log fire with our doggy nearby. Super friendly welcome and we were told to order quickly as two large parties had just gone in to the restaurant. So many places would not have bothered to mention this and then we would have been annoyed at having to have a long wait. We had the game pie and it was just great. The breakfast arrived was not just over cooked but was cremated. They replaced the bacon but it was still burnt. The 2nd night’s meal I ordered a steak and this was also cremated. I sent back the steak and from order to receiving 2nd steak was over 1.5 hours. On the 2nd morning we were offered juice and preserves and toast. We again ordered a full English but no mushrooms were available. We were offered any alternative. The 3rd night was our best meal.We choose not to have breakfast on the 3rd morning. If we did decide to again we would choose room 10 due to the noisy fan, for a Michelin pub the food was up-to there standards. We went there as a family of 5 , it was a wet windy day at longest so after a few hours in the rain we went to the hotel . We were welcomed in and seated on comfy chairs and offered drinks . Due to the current situation we were only able to get table service but that was fine . Once our room was ready at 3.45 instead of 4 which was a bonus we were taken to our rooms . We had two rooms one was for my son and his family and one was for myself and my wife ,the rooms were very clean light and spacious. We had dinner in the restaurant that evening which was nice plus they catered for children too . In the morning we had breakfast that was very nice lots of choices too , apparently this is usually a buffet but what we was offered made up for that . The only one disappointment is that my sons room room 1 is opposite a toilet and he said that it is being used constantly through the night , his room was very nice thou the bathroom was exceptional, we would definitely stay there again if in the area . There was a free bag of disposable usable gifts ie Toothbrush, razor and cream etc in the room which we thought was a nice touch from the hotel, so we used some of them and took them home with us, not realising that the little cloth bag they were in was meant to be left there. We took it home and had a call from the hotel saying it should not have been taken so we posted it back to them. They need to be clear what is the gift and what isn’t as we’d never had taken the bag if we’d know that.

We called in here for a light lunch after Longleat. Covid precautions were in evidence though we were not asked for track and trace which we did not realise until I sat down to write this. We ordered a fishermans platter and a burger and fries both of which were well presented and tasty. However when I came to pay, the card machine refused my Lloyds pin, my wifes Lloyds pin and a Tesco Bank credit card pin, which was embarrassing. Fortunately I had (just) enough cash to cover the bill but as I had a hotel bill to pay and petrol to get for a journey half way across England I was naturally concerned. I was therefore very relieved when all three cards responded positively at a cashpoint in Frome! I tried to email the manager to get his machine checked before the evening service but the email address for the establishment was not recognised. In the circumstances four dots may be generous but this IS supposed to be about the food and service which were both very good.

3 of us stopped as usual on our bikes for a coffee and cake. Waitresses didn't even acknowledge us, avoided contact with us, so we got up and left! Very disappointing after all our previous visits.

My wife and I had an excellent dinner here last night in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The terrine was superb and the roasted breast of guinea fowl was outstanding. The Bath Arms has recently re-opened under new management and, if our experience is anything to go by, it will do well!

As Beckford Arms fans we were pleased to hear that the same company was now running the Nath Arms. Lunch on Saturday was very good and service good. Nice garden table under a canopy and what we saw of the interior seemed similar gastropub feel to other pubs in this group. Will be going again and do recommend to others

Sunny Thursday lunch in the newly reopened and managed Bath Arms. What a wonderful experience from arriving to this classic English Inn well presented and immaculate to the friendly, helpful staff. The menu has lots to offer we opted for the terrine, followed by Guinea Fowl and then cheeses to end, we coupled this with a wonderful house red. The whole meal was wonderful, well balanced, lovely presentation, great flavours and combinations. Another Beckford family success story

Decided to have a spur of the moment supper with my son. We were not disappointed. I had the Beetroot cured salmon followed by Beetroot Fregola ( I do like beetroot) and my son had the Pork Terrine followed by steak. All the dishes tasted amazing and looked beautiful. Staff were really friendly and efficient. It’s so nice to have the pub open again, the village hasn’t seemed the same without it.

I was here for a conference nearby and thought we'd book for the slightly more expensive option for once. The pub is beautifully situated at the end of Longleat House drive, and there are lovely scenes and views just a few yards walk away.

Lovely food and atmosphere with good (friendly) service. Excellent food but portions were very small; an extra potato and sliver of meat wouldn't have hurt the bottom line...

Really nice menu, but in my opinion slightly punching above its weight. Descriptions of food were very enticing, but delivery was not quite so.

Visited Longleat this weekend for the Sky Safari and decided to escape the park for a decent lunch and we were not disappointed! The only difficulty was walking there from Longleat as they had closed the most direct route due to using the area for the balloon launches. After a slightly longer walk round we eventually got to the pub for a lovely lunch. Thoroughly recommend this place. Excellent food at reasonable prices and all staff very friendly and helpful. Will visit again!

We visited for 2 nights whilst visiting Longleat, we chose this hotel as it said it was close to he park gate, the gate is actually an exit from the park you have to drive a couple of miles to the entrance. If we had not been mislead we would have booked in the local village instead.

Visited mid-week with family including 2 young children. Straight away we were made to feel most welcome which was nice. The food arrived quite quickly apart from the fish and chips which followed several minutes later. Everything was good apart from the batter on the fish which was very greasy & as a result was disappointing. The Bath Arms is part of the Longleat Estate & is a very convenient location if you plan to visit Longleat or nearby Centre Parcs. Confusingly there is also a Bath Arms in Warminster which is close by so make sure you visit the right one!!

Came here on a Saturday evening. Perhaps there is a new chef since the older reviews were written, because it was five star fare. The menu was a little experimental, and everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. I had salmon with chive ice cream to start, which was a revelation, and duck with ginger hash for a main, which was also excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. The only downside was that it's a bit more expensive than average, but the price is correct for the quality on offer. I'll be back soon. Keep it up guys.

If you stay here expect good service but a poor quality of room unless you go for a superior room. The standard rooms are small with no chair and only one holder for one case.

We arrived at the Bath Arms just before 12 looking for something to eat. It was a little unorganised and they were obviously having some kind of meeting, but we were in no hurry and the young lady that served us was very nice. They seated us promptly and came to take our order. From a fairly limited menu. We ordered the bread and oils to start, which was fab. They were brought out to us by a older waitress, who was incredibly eager to please!

I stayed at the Bath Arms for 2 nights. Ideally located for Centre Paris and Longleat safari park. I stayed in a double room in the main building. The room was tidy though the arm chair in the room the cover on one of the arms was worn away. I suppose some might call this shabby chic. I am quite tall 6ft 3 and the bed in the room was not long enough. Fortunately it was a double so I slept corner to corner. The building is quite old and sound does travel hence I was woken a few times in the night by creaking floorboards and bumps from people in neighbouring rooms moving about. I ate in the restaurant twice during my stay. The food is good though I thought a little over priced but the next place to eat is a good few miles away.

We stayed here last night after booking at very short notice, we were welcomed by friendly staff who took the care to understand that we had a sleeping little one in the car, so got us settled without any fuss. Dinner was lovely, from a good menu and the service equal to our friendly arrival, as was breakfast on our departure.

Stopped at the Bath Arms after a dog walk around Heavens Gate at Longleat. Sat in the bar which was very welcoming. Order sandwiches and chips from the lunch menu which were all extremely tasty. The standout for me was the triple cooked chunky chips, these were probably the best tasting and textured chips I have ever eaten. Would definitely recommend.

Drove past many times and decided to take the plunge. Wish we had not. Food was bland an uninteresting. Staff seemed untrained and not interested. Interior very uninspiring. Order steak and stated very, very well done. It came pink and excuse why was fairly lame. They did refund a good will at least. Time between starter and Mai was way too long. We started to worry when a lady on the table next to us returned her steak. Our worries were warranted. Summed up? Edible but extremely unexciting. We won’t be back. At least our dogs enjoyed the doggy bag and they were not fussy on the steak!

Looking at the reviews, this place just doesn't have the star rating that reflects the meal we had on Sunday night. My family who live locally tell me that it's recently changed management and I suspect that's why. We met there for a birthday meal and right from the start the staff could not have been any more helpful and welcoming. The food was absolutely fantastic, and both front and back of house were fantastic and really accomodating to individual tastes. The wine and beer was also excellent. Also worth mentioning that it's such a great old building, which often means drafts, but despite it being bitter outside, it was perfectly warm inside. In the summer, I remember it has a great outside area too. Look forward to eating there again next time we visit the family.
