A fantastic place to visit with friends and family. Staff are so welcoming and friendly every time we visit. The space is very family and dog friendly. Menu options are brilliant and food always top notch. Also great to have an outdoor play area, takeaway cafe and farm shop onsite.

Average food. Breakfast menu not a great choice. What we did have was ok. Staff were brilliant though. Wouldn’t rush back which is shame as before barn was built, the food was very good.

My friends were delayed on their road journey, and were almost half an hour late arriving, but the staff in the cafe/restaurant were extremely understanding and patient! The service we received was excellent, and all three of us were very happy with our main courses, cakes and drinks (hot and cold). As this occasion was a 'mini-reunion', we chatted for a while after eating, and at NO point did we feel 'rushed'. All in all, a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. Well done 'Hartley Farm Team'!

Came for lunch yesterday afternoon and, although the location and set-up was lovely, the food wasn’t what I expected. Although the menu was a decent size, I struggled to find something which I particularly wanted. I ordered the ‘lighter bites’ Fishcakes with a green salad and, for the cost, the portion size was very small. The salad was a few pieces of lettuce, one of which was quite brown, and a couple of pickled onion slices. There were 4 very small fishcakes which weren’t overly flavourful and were a bit gluey, although the sauce was nice. My partner had the lamb burger special, the burger was good although the chips were a bit undercooked. For a bill of £40 for two lunches (one of which was very light) and two soft drinks, it felt a bit overpriced. However, the service was good and the farm shop was very nice.

My friend and I visited lunchtime today, and the table service was excellent, thank you to the lady with (long dark curly hair) she was smiley and very attentive. Pizza was delicious, as was my green smoothie my friend had Fresh Orange Juice which was freshly squeezed and also delicious! Will definitely be revisiting in the very near future…

Fantastic restaurant with great gluten free breakfast options.... Highly recommended the farmhouse breakfast (which we had twice in a long weekend). Great cuppa too. Downside though was that I have never eaten a cooked breakfast where I have been refused swapping fried eggs for scrambled eggs (not great for someone neurodivergent who cannot handle the texture of egg white). Would have been perfect and 5* if they had offered scrambled eggs as an alternative.

We live locally and feel very fortunate to have this fantastic place on our doorstep. Today we visited the kitchen for Sunday lunch, for the first time, and it was very good. Only 2 constructive comments: - The main course plates are too small. I’m sure they are fine for the regular menu but not for all the different items that are provided as part of the Sunday lunch menu. - Hartley Kitchen should stick to what it’s really good at, i.e homemade, locally sourced, food. Calimari felt misplaced and tasted like something that was neither homemade or locally sourced! Everything else was excellent and we look forward to returning soon.

We are local to Hartley Farm and it a real family favourite. We have a big birthday in the family and needed somewhere that would accommodate 20 people, easy parking, nice food. We also needed a wheelchair friendly place, that had absolutely no steps, easy to park, enough room to actually move around and wheelchair friendly toilets. They ticked all the boxes. Proper wheelchair access is so rare anywhere ! Well done Hartley ! Along with providing the snug for us to eat in, lovely staff, lovely food. It was a thumbs up for all. Wouldn’t hesitate in booking this again for another family get together, from booking to the day all super easy and lovely people to deal with.

The café wasn't too busy when we turned up at 12.30pm for lunch. The staff were friendly and our waitress attentive. We both chose the kofta kebab with flatbread which was delicious. I'd ordered a side dish of tabbouleh but was given a bowl of couscous with a few bits of pepper and onion. I was disappointed that it wasn't tabbouleh and complained but my friend was still charged for the dish.

We were in the Bradford on Avon area to visit a local National Trust property, and called here for a snack lunch. I had looked at a popular online map, and spotted this farm shop with a café; the location suited us. I must admit I thought it might be the same place that we had visited once years ago, and we had bought some fresh provisions. On arrival we were able to park without issue; although the carpark is large there is an area that is for the use of another business sharing the site. I clearly remembered our first visit here probably 5-6 years ago. I could see that there has been an expansion in all areas including the farm shop, and the addition of the café. There has been an addition of a separate building ‘The Cabin’ selling takeaway food such as cakes, sandwiches (spelt ‘sanddwishes’ on their website), gelato, and coffee. We did look around the shop and butchery and the gift barn (we purchased a crocosmia plant for our garden), but our main purpose was to have that snack. We hadn’t booked and we had arrived at 12:30. So, the Barn Café was busy and we couldn’t secure a table inside. We found a table on the terrace bordering the barn. The terrace extended into a patio area with more tables with parasols. The heat from the sun was fierce, but mostly we were shaded from its full glare. Noting our table number (#211) I returned to the ‘reception’ counter and placed an order for a cheese scone and an Americano coffee with hot milk for my Partner, and a roast beet ciabatta roll, with onion chutney and horseradish sauce, plus a mug of tea for myself. This cost £18.30, so it wasn’t cheap. The scone arrived first with the two hot drinks and then, after a short wait, my roll arrived. Our food arrived well within the 20 minutes that we had been advised as being the food service delay. The scone was warm, served with butter and the coffee was good (hot and strong, and with a bitter burnt caramel tone that my Partner looks for). My tea was strong and the mug was a good size. My ciabatta roll was excellent and served with a flourish of crispy lettuce. The beef was very tender and pink, and the onion chutney and horseradish made it a joy to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed; all if it. It was a pleasant visit and if we hadn’t been going out for the whole afternoon we probably would have purchased some of the meat (particularly the sausages). We will revisit I’m sure.

My 80 year old mum ordered the salad of the day but had to leave half of it as the chard & beans were so tough she couldn't chew it. Together with the oversized croutons there wasn't much she could eat apart from the potatoes. Really dissapointing.

We had enjoyed our first visit on Fathers Day this year and after spotting the roast dinner decided to book and bring family with us. Overall it was a little disappointing and the staff were not attentive. It doesn’t seem like any particular waitress is allocated to any specific tables therefore resulting in very sloppy table service. The staff were good but it was us the customer who had to either wait or ask for service. Booking our table online on the 30th June was straightforward, for the 23rd July. I had missed their Instagram post on the 1st July about the Sunday menu changing…more on this later. We arrived and waited for a good while before a lady came and apologised for the wait and directed us to our table. It took a while for someone to take our drinks order…when they arrived a glass was cracked (spotted by the waitress) and a bottle of cider with glass was missing. Returning with another glass that was dirty and the cider, the glass was returned and I used one that was on the table with the tap water instead. Our food order was taken and starters arrived, they were nice. Then no sooner did the mains arrive and the three of us who had starters hadn’t even yet finished those. The menu had changed from your roast dinner with gravy, Yorkshire etc to a lighter summer ‘from the grill’. Yes the food was edible but when you ask a waitress if the dishes under ‘from our grill’ are your roasts, I would expect them to explain what the dish would or wouldn’t entail. For example the summer ‘roast’ is the meat or cauliflower with cold tabbouleh, fennel & red cabbage slaw, seasonal veg, and chimmichurri. No gravy, all cold and no yorkshires. We finished our mains and the plates were cleared away but only upon us asking for a dessert menu and another round of drinks did we get that! Service charge is automatically added to the bill, I do dispute this especially when the service has t been what it should be, to be fair it isn’t obligatory but you do have to check your bill! This is not good enough in my opinion. Luckily it hasn’t put us off coming again but if it happens again then we will not be returning a 4th time.

We came for the farm shop to buy some vegetable and decided to get a coffee and something to eat. It’s the second time we went to Hartley Farm and just to say disappointed for the service! First time my husband order a pizza and the globe artichoke was missing, the second time he ordered a margarita with an extra sausage but no sausage! He mention to the young lady which took it back, came back 10 min later with the same pizza with the sausage! No one check on both time if everything was okay! Service charge is automatically added without asking if you want or not! The vegetable are very lovely!

Arrived at about 12:30, albeit unknowingly on the open farm day so the car park was busy. However we were pleasantly surprised when we went into the restaurant and saw that about half the tables were free. We stood waiting to be acknowledged whilst the staff seems to be running around like headless chickens. Finally someone came over and when we said we had no reservation, said we would be lucky to get a table inside due to “a number of big parties”…. The largest party I could see was maybe 8 max. We were told we could sit outside if we could find a table (I could see plenty of free tables) and that there would be a 40 min wait for food. Because of this, we would have to come in and order our drinks and then 10 mins later come in again to order food (I didn’t understand the significance of this whatsoever). We bailed out and went to the cabin round the corner for food to go so our children could go on the playground. Extortionate! £2.00 for one slice of bread with cheese in for a kids’ sandwich, £6.00 for a normal 2 slice sandwich. For 2 kids’ sandwiches, 2 sausage rolls, 3 drinks and crisps, it cost nearly £20. Have wanted to come here for a while due to reputation but it was like the staff were surprised that they put an event on and that people came! Will not be returning.

Hartley farm has been renovated over the last couple of years and they now have an indoor restaurant now. It’s also an attraction in itself being a farm, restaurant, store and picnic area rolled into one. Definitely a great place for families and children. We had brunch and they do very good breakfasts. The full breakfast is recommended as they have the full and proper English breakfast with a vegetarian option as well. It’s pretty good value at £ 12. The store is excellent as well and you can buy all sorts of meats and fresh produce. They have a decent selection of Somerset ciders and local British sparkling wine. Because it is popular, reservations for brunch are definitely a good idea. Well worth the visit,

Disappointing experience. Very long waiting times and not the cleanest of tables./ chairs. Food was ok but exorbitantly expensive. 2 burgers and 2 diet cokes was over £40.!! All the more irritating is that 10 % service is automatically added to your bill. Tipping should be discretionary and in response for good service. Which sadly was not the case. It should not be for the customer to have to ask for this to be removed. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Unfortunately I don’t see any real improvements with its various expansions. I have seen the prices increase whilst the portions decrease in size, with much of the service being self-service now too . I have had to send food back to the kitchen a few times, surprised that the kitchen had sent substandard, overcooked food out to the customer, (obviously the customer pays first now and no refund has ever been offered as an apology). When you receive your recooked meal after the rest of your family have finished eating, you may not feel like a free slice of cake afterwards either, but at least it is some sort of gesture. Unfortunately, last Sunday when we went for lunch we found a snail in our cauliflower with the roast beef. After the long trek indoors with the vegetable dish to inform staff, we were sent out several minutes later some more (this was cold, so we can assume the snail was just removed from the vegetables and sent out again). The cold vegetables were left. I think a small apology was made when we took the food into the kitchen/till area but no offers of anything were made, not even a now small slice of cake. I don’t think the attitude of many of the staff is satisfactory any more either, (they used to be charming, like the establishment) -you certainly don’t get what you pay for anymore so it is with regret that I say that I don’t think I would go back there or recommend it. Very sad.

We ate here as we were staying at the nearby camp and thought it looked a lovely place to visit. Thoroughly enjoyed all our breakfasts and drinks. Just a shame it's so far from home as would love to visit more frequently!

Perfect poached eggs, soft Avocado and a a genius portion of smoked salmon.....simply delicious all served with a smile in a rustic and charming setting. The quality of the breakfast was excellent as is the produce that is on sale at the farm shop. The place was packed when we visited yet we were served quickly and efficiently. Looking at the surrounding tables who's occupants were sampling the traditional breakfast delights on offer and the lovely selection of home made cakes all looked equally delicious and all the plates went back to the kitchen were empty.

Hartley Farm is great for so many reasons, especially the cafe. Unfortunately its now a really difficult place to visit for parents of small children, ages 4 and below.

This place is nearby, so I go quite a bit. I pop in on a Sunday, and weekday lunches if I'm at home. I use the shop for meat and eggs too (expensive but you know where it's sourced).

This was a really good experience with good food and interesting items to browse in the shop. This place was well signposted so very easy to find with plenty of parking.

Truth be told this place is a bit of a yummy mummy / screaming kiddie magnet that wouldn't be out of place being parodied on Dead Ringers but still deserves 5 stars for a fantastic setting and cakes which are clearly home made, and well above average. The coffee was pretty good too.

I regularly shop at Hartley Farm, helped by the fact that I am a local. You may be able to buy slightly cheaper bacon and sausages at Sainsbury's, but you will never buy bacon that does not shrink 30% when under the grill, nor sausages made by hand which taste divine. their cuts of meat make you hungry just by looking at them. The difference in taste quality from supermarket-bought produce is stark. If you want a reduced CO2 footprint, they even tell from which farms the produce hails; all of them very local. The vegetables are all fresh and you can buy sublime freshly baked bread and a cornucopia of fantastic local sauces, rapeseed oils etc, to augment the cooking shopping list.

We had Sunday lunch at Hartley Farm, which was very disappointing - the food was barely luke warm, veg pretty raw (never had raw asparagus before). But the beef itself was excellent - tender and tasty.

I have eaten here quite a few times before and its good: thoughtful food, well prepared nicely presented and served well by nice staff. It is well set up to entertain children so there are always pre- school kids enjoying the facilities and of course in school holidays slightlu older kids, The farm shop is good for staple produce and some nice treats.

The food is usually good but I had an egg mayonnaise sandwich today which was only satisfactory.

Popped in for a coffee and croissant with a friend. The coffee (flat white) was almost completely tasteless: more like a cup of warm milk which we both threw away. The almond croissants were flavourless too. All for £12! Premium price for truly awful quality. The place has definitely lost its way. Having eaten there so many times in the past it’s a shame to see the pursuit of profit over quality. Will not go back again.

Pleasing layout to shop and good range of products with sufficient parking. Management of restaurant could do with reviewing. Several staff hanging around seemingly doing nothing. One lady trying to cope with taking orders by hand from a queue of people. Writing out requests in long hand on carbon pad may seem quaint and rural but leads to inaccuracies. In our case we were presented with wrong bill and wrong type of toast. Ever heard of iPads linked to kitchen? Suggest serving staff are trained by a professional and not just left to serve as best they can. Gripping cups by rim with fingers by waiters is not good hygienic practice and if we were feeling less charitable, would have sent the coffee back to kitchen. Waiting tables should be a professional activity and not something practiced on a part time basis or between other jobs. Breakfast itself (the Little English) was acceptable but not that well presented on plate and with a small effort could emulate similar nearby competitors.

Absolutely dreadful! Advertised a la carte menu replaced with a 'bar' menu. Took the waiter 15 minutes to bring a menu and ask if we'd like drinks 40 minutes for food to arrive which was not hot. The pork belly my colleague had was wrapped in gooey fat not crackling, the pumpkin sauce was a teaspoon of orange 'something' and the seasonal veg was mashed potato and some peas. The chicken burger was deep fried and tasted of old fryer fat as did the 'tepid' skin in chips. Presentation of the burger was non existent and the two tiny leaves of lettuce were brown. This was fed back to the waiter when he finally returned to our table his response was he'd mention it to the Chef. The after dinner treat of sticky toffee pudding was solid and rubbery, not moist. The tiniest bit of ice cream and a token gesture at the sauce all was tepid. The dining room was cold and drafty. The decor tired and wall paper peeling off the ceiling and walls. Utterly awful experience with nobody interested in the overall shoddiness of the service and food. Really disappointing, especially as this is the closest hotel to work. A real missed opportunity for this Hotel and Restaurant.

Have just experienced excellent service at the longs Arms. Greeted on arrival by Beth who is an engaging young woman made us feel welcome. The server George and Eloise were attentive and friendly. Great team and enjoyable experience.

Very good lunch, busy but were found a table quickly. Staff we dealt with were all excellent, special thanks to Amelia who recommended the BBQ chicken with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. Will be another addition to our favourite lunch spots..

Food was delicious and the manager made our evening! Kerrie (sorry if it’s spelt wrong) was brilliant. She was funny, hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. We will absolutely be back! 💖

Stopped off for a late lunch/early dinner. So much to choose from. Had the steak and ale pie with mash and the steak and kidney pudding with mash. Both delicious, hot and plentiful. Amazing value for money. Staff very attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Lovely place for families, dog friendly too. 5 star on all fronts.
