Had our Christmas lunch at the pub. The meal was lovely, hot, flavoursome and good portion sizes. The staff are professional but also very friendly and helpful. Visited a few times now and never disappointed. A lovely community atmosphere.

Great staff and service. The food is cheap for a reason.

We were a party of 6 and had the festive menu. One of our guests is gluten free. Which I checked before I booked the starters came out only 3 people had a starter. Prawn cocktail. Pate, and gluten free tomatoe soup with gluten free bread. As soon as my daughter had eaten her tomatoe soup and bread she started to feel unwell. I enquired as to whether they had made a mistake or had any cross contamination could have happened but they were insistent that none of that could have happened. My daughter had to leave and go home. So was really unwell. The other starters were good. Main course was 4 turkey dinners and 2 kids burgers. The main course wasn't up to its usual standard.which was really disappointing.Everyrhing just seemed to be dumped on the plate. I think it would have been better if all the vegetables had been placed in separate bowls to allow us to choose which one we would like. Puddings were OK. Overall we were disappointed with the whole experience. Service was slow, they seemed more interested in serving at the bar,

I wanted a Dog-Friendly Pub and you never failed it was so nice and all the staff were just as helpful, we got there at 5.20 for seating at 5.30 pm, we waited about 5 minutes and was served right away, and the lady was very upbeat being that it was very busy, we were shone to the table that I had booked online, I had seen the menu online, so was happy with what it had on offer, I went to the bar to order my food the young man was very helpful, in my ordering and it was about 20 mins for the food to come to the table, the food was very hot and Mario the pup enjoyed his order from the doggy menu, everything was just perfect would recommend this lovely pub as a family pub, the food and staff were just amazing

Service was incredibly slow, we weren’t made aware of the wait on food when we placed our. The pizza I ordered was missing two toppings, chicken wings were just about warm. One persons main didn’t come out at all, we had to chase it. So they ate alone because we’d all finished by the time theirs came out. Wouldn’t recommend.

This was an outstanding experience. The welcome we received when entering was warm, genuine and very friendly and made us feel at home from the off. Our table was ready and everything was explained to us, including how to use the app, if required. Our pre-ordered drinks were ready and we were asked again if there was anything further that we would like. Table service was spot on, including some welcome Christmas banter. Our first course arrived, well presented and very tasty, so much so that the plates were cleared entirely. The mains came a reasonable time after, in fact the timing was impeccable and it would not be an exaggeration to say that it was hot, and looked very tempting on the plate. At this point I must give praise to the chef. The food was scrumptious and if I could, I would certainly have eaten more, but the portion size was perfect, we are greedy so added a few sides, and we subsequently found that our eyes were bigger than our belly's!! I honestly could not have comfortably eaten another fork full and we were grateful to be asked if we needed a bit of time before desert was served. At the same time we were asked if further drinks were required. It was nice to feel unhurried and that the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there for us. All wore smiles and made it feel very festive indeed. Desert came and we had different deserts, my partner hasn't stopped babbling about the festive Crumble and I thoroughly enjoyed my Christmas pud. The only down side was having to waddle the relatively short distance home afterwards, We could have done with a lift on Santa's sleigh!!! Thank you and well done all for a wonderful, memorable and festive experience and we will definitely be returning more frequently to both drink and eat here again.

We came for dinner for an after work get together and stayed for quite a while. Service was really quick, food was great and the ladies behind the bar were friendly and chatty. The waiting staff were really lovely, there was a young girl waiting who was fab. Kitchen staff did a great job with food coming out quick. Really lovely evening!

Good food, fantastic service, relaxed, spacious, tidy it's just a nice place to eat and drink, not too expensive, good for families. We Really like it. Nothing too much trouble the staff very warm and accommodating. Pleased a decent pub is within a short walk from home.

Enjoyable experience at the orchard. Kate and the team were extremely friendly and helpful especially Lotty. Me and my other half shared a couple of pizzas. The meat lover was to die for. Definitely my favourite. Highly recommend! Will return again in the very near future!

We went to The Orchard for drinks and family meal. Staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, catered for gluten free with no fuss. Adapted sons meal too. Great food, fantastic staff. Definitely be back again soon

First time I went to the Orchard last evening. I was very surprised by the price for a pint 🍺 of IPA. £6.70 a pint. I’m afraid I won’t be returning. The pubs in Amesbury are a lot cheaper for the same product

Such a friendly atmosphere and child and dog friendly. It's somewhere for families to enjoy themselves. Staff are always lovely. The place is clean and the food is amazing. It is now our new local to go.

The orchard is the place to be in Amesbury, especially when Lou and Jonny are working. The atmosphere is electric and everyone makes you feel at home. Excellent service, they go out of their way to go above and beyond. Such a great ambience

The only thing I can say negatively is the peas from the roast dinner were rock hard and they hardly put gravy on a roast dinner if you required gravy you have to pay extra just wish they would have that next to the part of the listing bit (order extra gravy for your roast dinner. The bar staff and waitresses were all lovely though

Had a nice steak and pepper orn sauce. The place was busy as it was a friday night. We didnt have to wait long and our food orders came at the same time even though we ordered sepperatly.

Not to shabby!!! We attended her with low expectations, as just wanted a cheap and cheerful place to have some grub. Anyone who goes to any of these places expecting ‘a la carte’ is bonkers! I’d rather go with low expectations and be pleasantly surprised. Staff are great and really friendly, my mate Derick took quite a shine to the women behind the bar. Clean and tidy within, and the toilets were a pleasure to visit with ample bog roll on offer. Food was ok. Food wasn’t overly hot + the meat was poor. BUT definitely not worth losing any sleep over, as the meats hardly gunna be coming from the local butcher!!! I wouldn’t bring Brenda here for a romantic night out but I’d happily have some cheap food after one of our warhammer conventions if I was in a rush and didn’t want to cook when we got back to the caravan. Serves a purpose, and would happily reattend.

What a disappointment this place is. We ordered sharer starters that arrived and weren't given any cutlery. Then it was over a 40 minute wait for our mains. People arriving after us were fed before us. When the food finally arrived most of it was cold. One assumes that it was left on the side as only 1 person was serving food and she couldn't cope. Again no cutlery. There were 3 people on duty and the place was busy, they all couldn't cope. The food was below average and the cook must have been off sick the days they taught the dishes Hunters chicken and mixed grill, as the Hunters came with no BBQ sauce or cheese and the mixed grill was missing the chicken breast. They seemed put out that we complained and by the time the missing chicken breast arrived the rest of the grill was eaten or cold. By the time the Hunters Chicken returned everyone else had eaten and the recipient was eating on her own. They didn't even clear the starter plates away when they eventually served the mains. This is the second Marston eatery that we have been to in the last 4 weeks, and they are rubbish, service just doesn't exist. They also don't care whether you complain or not.

Food took over 55 minutes to arrive and was missing items (missing scampi on a surf and turf!), then desserts took over 45 mins to be delivered and required us to ask a server as to their whereabouts.

First visit very impressed with the service and food Lovely pub clean 👌.

Regularly go to the orchard, the team are amazing and the turn around of the pub experience by the Katie the new manger is amazing. The fact that they have Courage “Directors “ is a winner. Loads to do and each evening is different,

Ate here four evenings in a row as were visiting near by. Staff were friendly and welcoming, food was good pub grub. No complaints at all. Service always with a smile and the regulars were just as nice.

Lou and Anne gave us a very friendly welcome. This was our first visit here. The food was lovely and the pub was clean and tidy. All staff courtious and look forward to coming back.

A mate and I had a bite to eat here and a catch up. The bar staff particularly Manuella were good. The food was terrible. I had bangers and mash (how do you get that wrong?!). The sausages had clearly not been turned, so one side was brown and the rest was barely cooked. The tiny amount of mash had a large lump of something in the middle. It wasn’t potato. The gravy was thin and watery. My mates scampi was just as bad. Tiny and utterly tasteless. Not good at all.

Friendly and welcoming local pub! Curry and quiz night is great value and lots of fun. Lots of regular events run, including a local book group. A great family pub with nice food and lovely atmosphere

Friendly staff with great service and food

The afternoon started well when the lass behind the bar leant in to talk to my mother loudly and slowly 🥺 She is old not senile 😆 Then we had to order in an app, I managed food but went to the bar to order drinks as I was losing the will to live by this point 🙄 Food took about an hr to arrive but that's when the experience changed, it was really quite good hence the 5⭐ I will probably go again, but not with my folks as I wouldn't want my mum to be violent 😆😆😆

Starter was fine but the main was awful, there was no barbecue sauce on my chicken course which there should have been, also my partner could not have what he wanted because they had run out. We have not been to the Orchard for a long time and we will not be coming back.

Outstanding as always. We've not eaten in the orchard for some time but we went as a family of 8 and the service and food was amazing. The new menu had something for everyone, it's all extremely well presented and I would highly recommend going there. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and everything comes with a friendly smile.

Food is okay although it takes almost an hour to arrive. Service is still as poor as it was 2 years ago and ordered a drink via the website to be told that they don’t have it and a refund might not be possible.

I came with a group of friends for the Drag Bingo. What an amazing night!! The drag queen was great and the atmosphere was amazing! Thank you to Alex for the great service. Always has a smile and works very hard :)

Worst pub we've been to this year. The place is disgusting, sticky everywhere, smelt everywhere and silly waiting times for food especially simple things like nachos. Won't be visiting again especially as we have a child and think the cleanliness needs to be upped.

The staff were helpful and polite, great choice of drinks, there were 5 adults and we all enjoyed our meals great value for money.

We booked a table for 6.30 we asked for fish to be told they had run out of fair enough that does happen we changed that to gammon and paid for it only to be told they 30 minutes later they did not have that either we then waited 45 minutes for our meal this meal was also cheaper than our original order one off our starters was also missing again that was not deducted from our meal the restaurant was not very busy when were there it may have been busy but not when were there so no excuses for the wait we finally left at 9.30 the staff were very apologetic so this is not down to the young people who served us but it was a very disappointing experience.

Clean and tidy, lots of choice of tables, friendly and welcoming staff, easy to order using QR code at table, wide variety of choices on main & children’s menu. Not too long a wait for food to be cooked. Very fresh and hot. Childrens pizza freshly cooked but a little on the small side. Puddings were excellent.

Great location, friendly staff, real real ale, perfect partner with their steak & ale pie! Hope to return in the future.

Nice hot food and quick service our waitress kaya was lovely. Took our allergen order and we had a very fussy eater. She dealt with it all very easily and double checked everything for us. Will definitely go back.

I easily booked a large, last minute table without any issues. Our food was brought out quickly and efficiently. I had the kebab flatbread which was lovely, plenty of it and it had some good flavours. My 1 year old had a decent sized portion of a build your own meal, which he enjoyed. My friends had Sunday dinner and it looked really good for the price. There's a secure outdoor play area for the kids (better for older kids) and a few smaller toys inside the pub which are suitable for younger children. Staff were friendly, paying attention to the children. An overall good atmosphere for a family pub with a good choice of meals.

Very slow service. Had to wait an hour, but we weren’t told of this when we arrived. The food was ok, not great. Some of it was hot, some was like warm. We had been before and had a good meal. Think it must have changed management. We won’t go back

I was in Boscombe Down to visit a friend I was at school with here in the 1980s. We came here for a drink as it's dog friendly. The beer was good, and there was seating outside. Will use this pub again one day. Thank you.

We came for my neices 16th birthday meal and it was perfect, the staff were really friendly and very accommodating seems we were a party of 13 and it was 30º outside!😂 food was spot on aswell, highly recommend

On the whole, the food was fine. The burgers were excellent but the steaks were a little fatty. On a hot day (very hot) they needed more than just a few doors open. We only stayed for a pudding because of the children. Given the choice, I'd have left after the main course as it was too hot at the table. The staff were good and the prices were comparable to other local pubs.

There was a 35min wait for food (chicken wings,chips,baguette) despite a relatively quiet time. It was the beginning of lunchtime service, but they seemed unprepared for a saturday lunchtime. Food then came out two bits at a time. The food also didnt seem cooked very well, baguette was undercooked, and fryer food was overcooked. Everytime the kitchen door opened, music was blaring from the kitchen. The place seemed understaffed and slightly unorganised. There was no apology for the wait and also no indication that there would be a wait time.

I'll continue to use the pub, but it has declined in the quality and range of food. It's also always busiers at the bar than it is full, it often appears not to be able to anticipate how busy it will be. On my last visit, the toppings of chicken were felt very small, but was still tasty if not rather basic.

The Orchard was reasonable for one of Marston's Generous George pubs. The beer was good and the food for the price good I had a mixed grill which was cooked well the wife had the rump steak rare which she rated 10/10. The staff were pleasant, though there is no table service. Overall decent ,and cheap by today's standards, Saturday lunch.

Not had a bad experience before. We always enjoy coming here, staff friendly, nice atmosphere. We had food last night, it was all very nice. I recommend the burgers. If there was something unavailable, then it was sorted easily. Cocktails were good too otherwise my missus would have said something as she’s a barmaid herself. Family/child friendly too. People should appreciate how much hard work goes on behind the scenes of a pub, and they’re doing really well.

It was horrific there, over a 45 min wait for food even just a desert, the pub was no kept Tidy at all, only 3 bar staff and still had to wait 20 mins to order a drink and if you did it through the app it still took 30 mins to come. Horrible experience would not go back again

As a family group ate there last night, mid June 2024. Having previously had good meals here, it has gone drastically down hill! No chips, a chip shortage apparently? But had fries😳 Hunters chicken had the smallest shred of bacon I have ever seen and 2 onion rings. Previously this was a bountiful plate of delicious food, dried fries, the salad leaves were actually limp and dry when served. The battered fish was over cooked and the oil is was cooked in obviously extremely overdue for a change. Shame Very disappointing. Will not be returning. Don't waste your money!

Lovely meal out at The Orchard for the husbands birthday, Julie behind the bar went above and beyond, decorating the table and singing happy Birthday when bring the meals out even though her shift had finished way before. Brilliant staff, great food and all round great pub, would definitely recommend. 😊

Lovely. Meal with family. Staff very friendly and food was, as always, delicious….hot and tasty. Best to book as it gets busy and as most places right now there are staff shortages. Be assured it’s a pleasant pub to enjoy a meal and drink…anytime. Well done everyone.

Nice clean new pub. Staff are friendly. On entry there was no one to meet us to seat us. We just kind of wondered around until the barman caught our eye and said “Can I help you”. Then we were given a seating area that felt like we were sitting in the dark. The lighting in this pub is very poor and needs looking into, and rectifying. Then we ordered something off the menu. Which is basically all deep fried. Poor taste. This pub needs a new menu and chef that actually knows how to cook hearty country dishes.

Pretty good atmosphere good food a fair selection and a good family pub that is dog friendly as long as they are on a lead and a nice Sunday roast and there is even a roast dinner for dogs!!

We went to go celebrate a friends birthday and a member of the party ordered a hunters chicken which had promised onion rings and a grilled tomato, the food was brung out missing the onion rings and the grilled tomato, said member goes and asks then gets a tomato which hasn’t been grilled and the smallest onion rings he could find

There seemed to be some issues with items on the menu and not everything was available. What we had was nice.....it was clean and spacious but it had a really disconnected feel to it. There was no pressure to leave at the end of the meal, the staff were friendly and the place was quietish.
