Just want to say just how good the staff were on Monday night, while we were celebrating a birthday. Great friendly staff,food was good

What a disappointment this place is. We ordered sharer starters that arrived and weren't given any cutlery. Then it was over a 40 minute wait for our mains. People arriving after us were fed before us. When the food finally arrived most of it was cold. One assumes that it was left on the side as only 1 person was serving food and she couldn't cope. Again no cutlery. There were 3 people on duty and the place was busy, they all couldn't cope. The food was below average and the cook must have been off sick the days they taught the dishes Hunters chicken and mixed grill, as the Hunters came with no BBQ sauce or cheese and the mixed grill was missing the chicken breast. They seemed put out that we complained and by the time the missing chicken breast arrived the rest of the grill was eaten or cold. By the time the Hunters Chicken returned everyone else had eaten and the recipient was eating on her own. They didn't even clear the starter plates away when they eventually served the mains. This is the second Marston eatery that we have been to in the last 4 weeks, and they are rubbish, service just doesn't exist. They also don't care whether you complain or not.

Not to shabby!!! We attended her with low expectations, as just wanted a cheap and cheerful place to have some grub. Anyone who goes to any of these places expecting ‘a la carte’ is bonkers! I’d rather go with low expectations and be pleasantly surprised. Staff are great and really friendly, my mate Derick took quite a shine to the women behind the bar. Clean and tidy within, and the toilets were a pleasure to visit with ample bog roll on offer. Food was ok. Food wasn’t overly hot + the meat was poor. BUT definitely not worth losing any sleep over, as the meats hardly gunna be coming from the local butcher!!! I wouldn’t bring Brenda here for a romantic night out but I’d happily have some cheap food after one of our warhammer conventions if I was in a rush and didn’t want to cook when we got back to the caravan. Serves a purpose, and would happily reattend.

Lovely food, and cheerful staff. Everything was fresh and cooked to order, nothing overcooked or served cold. Will be back soon, our new favourite place to go.

A mate and I had a bite to eat here and a catch up. The bar staff particularly Manuella were good. The food was terrible. I had bangers and mash (how do you get that wrong?!). The sausages had clearly not been turned, so one side was brown and the rest was barely cooked. The tiny amount of mash had a large lump of something in the middle. It wasn’t potato. The gravy was thin and watery. My mates scampi was just as bad. Tiny and utterly tasteless. Not good at all.

Outstanding as always. We've not eaten in the orchard for some time but we went as a family of 8 and the service and food was amazing. The new menu had something for everyone, it's all extremely well presented and I would highly recommend going there. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and everything comes with a friendly smile.

Food is okay although it takes almost an hour to arrive. Service is still as poor as it was 2 years ago and ordered a drink via the website to be told that they don’t have it and a refund might not be possible.

I came with a group of friends for the Drag Bingo. What an amazing night!! The drag queen was great and the atmosphere was amazing! Thank you to Alex for the great service. Always has a smile and works very hard :)

Worst pub we've been to this year. The place is disgusting, sticky everywhere, smelt everywhere and silly waiting times for food especially simple things like nachos. Won't be visiting again especially as we have a child and think the cleanliness needs to be upped.

The staff were helpful and polite, great choice of drinks, there were 5 adults and we all enjoyed our meals great value for money.

We booked a table for 6.30 we asked for fish to be told they had run out of fair enough that does happen we changed that to gammon and paid for it only to be told they 30 minutes later they did not have that either we then waited 45 minutes for our meal this meal was also cheaper than our original order one off our starters was also missing again that was not deducted from our meal the restaurant was not very busy when were there it may have been busy but not when were there so no excuses for the wait we finally left at 9.30 the staff were very apologetic so this is not down to the young people who served us but it was a very disappointing experience.

Clean and tidy, lots of choice of tables, friendly and welcoming staff, easy to order using QR code at table, wide variety of choices on main & children’s menu. Not too long a wait for food to be cooked. Very fresh and hot. Childrens pizza freshly cooked but a little on the small side. Puddings were excellent.

Great location, friendly staff, real real ale, perfect partner with their steak & ale pie! Hope to return in the future.

Lovely friendly pub, very friendly staff

Nice hot food and quick service our waitress kaya was lovely. Took our allergen order and we had a very fussy eater. She dealt with it all very easily and double checked everything for us. Will definitely go back.

I easily booked a large, last minute table without any issues. Our food was brought out quickly and efficiently. I had the kebab flatbread which was lovely, plenty of it and it had some good flavours. My 1 year old had a decent sized portion of a build your own meal, which he enjoyed. My friends had Sunday dinner and it looked really good for the price. There's a secure outdoor play area for the kids (better for older kids) and a few smaller toys inside the pub which are suitable for younger children. Staff were friendly, paying attention to the children. An overall good atmosphere for a family pub with a good choice of meals.

Very slow service. Had to wait an hour, but we weren’t told of this when we arrived. The food was ok, not great. Some of it was hot, some was like warm. We had been before and had a good meal. Think it must have changed management. We won’t go back

The manager of the pub was fab and went above for us. She made sure everything was fine and nothing was too much for her. The food was good and service was fast. Really enjoyed our visit!

I was in Boscombe Down to visit a friend I was at school with here in the 1980s. We came here for a drink as it's dog friendly. The beer was good, and there was seating outside. Will use this pub again one day. Thank you.

We came for my neices 16th birthday meal and it was perfect, the staff were really friendly and very accommodating seems we were a party of 13 and it was 30º outside!😂 food was spot on aswell, highly recommend

Attended party here last weekend, amazingly managed food was superb, staff all friendly. Kates doing a great job with the orchard and the team.

On the whole, the food was fine. The burgers were excellent but the steaks were a little fatty. On a hot day (very hot) they needed more than just a few doors open. We only stayed for a pudding because of the children. Given the choice, I'd have left after the main course as it was too hot at the table. The staff were good and the prices were comparable to other local pubs.

There was a 35min wait for food (chicken wings,chips,baguette) despite a relatively quiet time. It was the beginning of lunchtime service, but they seemed unprepared for a saturday lunchtime. Food then came out two bits at a time. The food also didnt seem cooked very well, baguette was undercooked, and fryer food was overcooked. Everytime the kitchen door opened, music was blaring from the kitchen. The place seemed understaffed and slightly unorganised. There was no apology for the wait and also no indication that there would be a wait time.

I'll continue to use the pub, but it has declined in the quality and range of food. It's also always busiers at the bar than it is full, it often appears not to be able to anticipate how busy it will be. On my last visit, the toppings of chicken were felt very small, but was still tasty if not rather basic.

The Orchard was reasonable for one of Marston's Generous George pubs. The beer was good and the food for the price good I had a mixed grill which was cooked well the wife had the rump steak rare which she rated 10/10. The staff were pleasant, though there is no table service. Overall decent ,and cheap by today's standards, Saturday lunch.

Not had a bad experience before. We always enjoy coming here, staff friendly, nice atmosphere. We had food last night, it was all very nice. I recommend the burgers. If there was something unavailable, then it was sorted easily. Cocktails were good too otherwise my missus would have said something as she’s a barmaid herself. Family/child friendly too. People should appreciate how much hard work goes on behind the scenes of a pub, and they’re doing really well.

Pub quiz was busy. Didn't order food so can't comment on that.

It was horrific there, over a 45 min wait for food even just a desert, the pub was no kept Tidy at all, only 3 bar staff and still had to wait 20 mins to order a drink and if you did it through the app it still took 30 mins to come. Horrible experience would not go back again

As a family group ate there last night, mid June 2024. Having previously had good meals here, it has gone drastically down hill! No chips, a chip shortage apparently? But had fries😳 Hunters chicken had the smallest shred of bacon I have ever seen and 2 onion rings. Previously this was a bountiful plate of delicious food, dried fries, the salad leaves were actually limp and dry when served. The battered fish was over cooked and the oil is was cooked in obviously extremely overdue for a change. Shame Very disappointing. Will not be returning. Don't waste your money!

Lovely meal out at The Orchard for the husbands birthday, Julie behind the bar went above and beyond, decorating the table and singing happy Birthday when bring the meals out even though her shift had finished way before. Brilliant staff, great food and all round great pub, would definitely recommend. 😊

Nice clean new pub. Staff are friendly. On entry there was no one to meet us to seat us. We just kind of wondered around until the barman caught our eye and said “Can I help you”. Then we were given a seating area that felt like we were sitting in the dark. The lighting in this pub is very poor and needs looking into, and rectifying. Then we ordered something off the menu. Which is basically all deep fried. Poor taste. This pub needs a new menu and chef that actually knows how to cook hearty country dishes.

Pretty good atmosphere good food a fair selection and a good family pub that is dog friendly as long as they are on a lead and a nice Sunday roast and there is even a roast dinner for dogs!!

We went to go celebrate a friends birthday and a member of the party ordered a hunters chicken which had promised onion rings and a grilled tomato, the food was brung out missing the onion rings and the grilled tomato, said member goes and asks then gets a tomato which hasn’t been grilled and the smallest onion rings he could find

There seemed to be some issues with items on the menu and not everything was available. What we had was nice.....it was clean and spacious but it had a really disconnected feel to it. There was no pressure to leave at the end of the meal, the staff were friendly and the place was quietish.

Absolutely appalling, the service was SLOW the food was subpar and there was quite a rough element from the local estate who kept bumping into my son’s chair and spilling alcohol over him which was very concerning, staff couldn’t be bothered. In general very rough.

Excellent meal, no rush, great company. Our dog slept at the end of the table. Nice green area outside where the dog could be exercised.

Had the tuna and cheese on jacket potato, not much filling, certainly not worth what was paid, the salad accompaniment description sounded lovely but it didn't look like it was described. Service was excellent though.

I was refused another drink because “someone” told the bar staff that I was sniffing cocaine in the toilet. I was there with my family, two kids under the age of 6. And two families of the U7’s football team that I coach and have been highly checked under strict rules to be able to coach them plus multiple age groups throughout the club that I coach. Between my group we must of spent 150-200 pound maybe more between 13:00 and 20:00 and I am highly embarrassed by these accusations that have been put in front of me. I am a class 1 lorry driver and get randomly drug tested once a month at least at my job. I am really not happy about this accusation this is my local pub that I spend a lot of money in when I am there and have always used this for a meeting place with our football team. I would like a pompt response to this before taking it further.

After a long day of footy, decided to take the kids for a special lunch. My son got the Beer battered fish as he wanted to get drunk silly lad. And my daughter got the pulled pork. I got the pepperoni pizza and chips. When it came, I found a long hair going under the sauce on the pizza, out through the crust and looping back round through the cheese. This made me mad. So I took the pizza and slapped my son round the face with it. It slowly slid down his face leaving a sauce trail. My daughter was enjoying her meal until I told her pork came from pigs and she started throwing up violently on my son. I look at my son and see he is covered in saucy sick. He takes one bite of his beer battered fish, says he’s drunk and flips the table. Overall very good experience would come again.

Took Jemima and Eddy for a celebration dinner. Jemima ordered the spaghetti bolognese and Eddy got a Vanilla Milkshake. Jemima started getting drunk and had to take her to the bathroom. Whilst we were in the bathroom I gave Eddy a couple of pounds to spend on the claw machine. As we came out the bathroom Eddy asked her to climb in the machine to get the Lilo and stitch teddy. Jemima the got stuck in the machine! Aside from that eddy enjoyed his milkshake( he slurped it up).

Clean and pleasant pub to sit and enjoy time with the family. A friendly team that remeber you with good service.

The staff in the pub are always amazing, and I regularly visit, but the food has consistency been on a down hill spiral for the past 6 months. I have always given it the benefit of the doubt as I want to support my local and love the staff and atmosphere. But it is now at the stage that I will no longer purchase food. Over cooked, the fryers need cleaning, lacks presentation.

Obviously new management as the staff were very friendly and the food was tasty and nicely cooked.

Lovely staff with good service In pleasant surroundings. The sirloin steak I ordered was cooked just as I like it. My wife’s choice was a chicken burger which she enjoyed. Both meals were a good size and at great prices. Next time we are in the area it’s most likely we will choose once again to eat here. Thank you.

Great community pub, great good & family atmosphere

We popped in for an early evening supper and really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the friendly welcome so many thanks.

Average bar prices, friendly staff, plus it has a decent pool table. Twice we've had food though, and twice it's been needing improvement. We did raise with the staff both times and had reduced bills.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. We stayed for dinner and the food was delicious.

Popped in to have lunch with some friends a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. Had a pizza and food was good, and came out in a timely manner. Good selection of drinks and welcoming atmosphere. Would visit again!

Bad service took forever, half of our dinner didn't come out, we complained, they said they would bring it out but never did. Also expensive and the menu online does not fit to the menu in the pub!

Booked a table for six people after a morning at Stonehenge. Just wanted something close, and this fit the bill. Clean, comfortable, great service and delicious food. We were all very impressed! Sadly, not local or would be back very soon!

Went to the orchard last minute on a Sunday and Kate the general manager did not hesitate to take us in for a lovely meal, the atmosphere was great and since Kate has become the GM the service has always been a 10/10 recommend for anyone that wants a relaxing lunch ! Well done Kate

Best stake dinner I have had in a good few years. Cooked perfectly! I recently went somewhere that cost £31 for a 8oz and I only ate half as it was dry and over cooked . Serves was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

The food was diabolical and we sent it back for a refund along with many other diners that night, we were patient with the 1hr 20 minute wait but then to be served cold grease laden food was not acceptable!

Appaling. If I could rate 0 I would. I booked a table of 18 over a month in advance for my son’s birthday with family visiting from Swindon and South Devon. We waited over an hour for food when less than half of the meals were brought to the table of these meals I would say one of them was edible the rest were not. We then waited a further half an hour and no more food had been brought out, as I am diabetic and pregnant I couldn’t wait any longer so the rest of us cancelled our meals and asked for a refund. We didn’t even get to finish our drinks but were not offered a refund on the drinks. I really would not waste your time going here, we have been here numerous times before and it’s always been ok but we will not be returning.

We came to visit for the Rugby, we had booked a particular table in front of the TV screen for ourselves and our friends. We did this booking in person, 1 week before the game, and directly pointed to the particular table we wanted, to ensure we had the correct one, and all was sorted. However, we turn up on the day, and were told they had double booked the two tables in front of the TV. We were put on a table that was far too far away from the screen. So we moved ourselves, with the help of a waitress of who I quote “you can still see the screen can’t you?” With a smirk. A very rude and unfunny response. We did feel as if we were entitled to a free pint, for the inconvenience, but we’re not offered. When one of us mentioned this to the bar stuff, they had walked away to their superior and a very dirty look was given by their manager. We had recently, previously had issues with this pub on very basic requests, and we were left very unsatisfied. We’ve been coming here since March 2023, and it has slowly been going downhill. From the staff’s attitudes, to the downgrade of the food, and the increase of the prices. Now we’re unsure if we want to attend and support this pub any longer. It is a shame as we are locals, however we want to be able to have a pleasant experience, which we do not achieve at the Orchard anymore.
