We arrived during a very busy Sunday lunch service without having booked, so we were very pleased that they could accommodate us. Hands down the best pub roast I’ve ever had. We had the pork and it was so tender and flavoursome. Great atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant.

Lovely dinner on a Saturday night. Other guests had stolen the chairs from my reserved table but the servers found chairs for our party quickly. They were nice and really accommodating. We were sat under the speaker which meant the music was a little loud but it was nothing major.

Of the Sunday Roasts, the chicken and the lamb were good, the beef not so.. I was disappointed by the lack of care and follow-up after having hot gravy poured over my legs and a perfectly good pair of jeans. I know accidents happen, but other than a piece of blue roll, I wasn't offered anything else to clean the gravy off with, I had to ask. Because I ate the lunch, to them was acceptance of the issue, and no compensation or goodwill was offered. After asking, I was offered 25% discount off my plate for the ruined lunch and a stain on my jeans.

Not bad for a pub, some of the food is bit expensive for what you get, the prawn cocktail is so plane no cucumber or tomatoes, just little bits of lettice and that's it really, mens toilets not clean, staff are very nice and friendly.. would 7 out of 10...

20 friends staying locally in a rented large accommodation, booked the three horseshoes , we pre ordered as there was so many of us. The food all came out at the same time so no one was waiting . Food was all hot which must of been a task with that many people. Thanks to the management and all the staff and chefs for great meal, with great service, lovely little pub and a great view over all the fields.

As a family with a child with dietary needs it is never easy to find somewhere that caters for everyone. We prefer home cooked food full of flavour, and we are normally greater by a very limited menu of frozen meals. We were pleasantly pleased eating here. I had the curry and the other half tried the lasagna both were very tasty. Granddaughter polished off a hunters chicken burger and both grandchildren loved the fluffy chips. Reasonably priced, we paid the service charge, that was our choice. Normally, we would have left a tip, as I prefer the money going straight to the staff. Great staff. We would visit again.

If you are within walking distance of this place, it's well worth the drive to another pub. Nacho starter poor quality. The only King prawn in the starter was the one on the menu. Guinness pipe's are in need of a clean and the beef burger, just no. for the almost £100 service charge included for myself and two children 11,13. So not worth it.

A beautiful pub with amazing views, delicious food, comfortable seating and travel ambience. I had the lunch special, so worth the money and delicious! The ham was soft, juicy, tasty and plenty of it. The brownie is more like chocolate cake, but tasty none the less. There are so many interesting decorations in the pub. We sat inside, which was very comfortable, but in a good day you can sit outside and watch the amazing view. They even provide water for your pups! ❤️

My wife & I recently returned to this pub for the 3rd time in the past year in the hope that things might have improved from our last couple of visits, but I'm sad to say it was actually worse! For our first visit approximately a year ago, both my wife & I ordered the Sirloin steak, service was very good however the steaks were no so good! My wives was not too bad, even though it was well done and not medium as requested, mine was medium but was so tough it was like trying to chew leather! For our 2nd attempt some 2 months later, my wife tried the steak again but asked for medium rare this time and it came out as medium as hoped. I had the burger, which was not too bad, however, the service was not very good at all! This last and final attempt, my wife had the lasagne which she very much enjoyed while I had the chicken katsu curry, which is made using breaded chicken goujons that were almost as tough as the steak at our first visit! How do you make chicken so tough?? To make matters worse, the service on this visit was appalling, we were in there for 2½ hours just to have 2 courses and even then, they forgot my desert! I had to ask for the bill twice and when we finally got it we ended up going to the bar to pay because nobody came to take the payment. The final insult for us is that they have the cheek to put a service charge on every bill which is not acceptable! I'll tip when and if the service and food is good.

Arrived 20 minutes before our reservation in order to enjoy a drink at the bar beforehand. Collected and brought in the daily paper that had been left on the doorstep, despite it being 1:40pm. Sat on the cosy sofas but even being set with kindling, the fire was not lit and being end of October after a muddy dog walk, it felt chilly. Came to the bar to order drinks but ended up sitting back down after 10 minutes standing there as only one bar lady and she was taking an in person reservation and deposit before answering the phone. There was a young lad hovering and cleaning tables but perhaps he’s not of age to serve alcohol as he didn’t jump behind the bar except to answer the phone which he then passed over to said bar lady? Another 10 minutes later my husband went back up and managed to order drinks and say we had a booking, which we were now bang on time for. They confirmed they had our booking and we asked if we could dine on the sofas which they said would be fine. Sat down with drinks finally in hand but a menu didn’t appear. By half way through our pint and large wine we decided we’d pay for these and go, having now been there for 40 minutes. At this point bar lady appeared and asked if we would “like to look at the menu”, which seems like a given since I’d booked the table 2 weeks in advance and had been sat for 20 mins with drinks. However, we declined and headed out. Luckily, this isn’t the first time we’ve been here. We come around once a month and love the seasonal and local menu. Pie of the day and cheesecake of the day are usually a firm favourite! Also usually have superb service, particularly from the dark haired, bearded guy? However, based solely off today (a Tuesday afternoon), we’d be unlikely to return. Fortunately managed to snag a last minute table at Three Daggers and headed there. *Edit:* there is no intention to engage in “ranting” whether it be courageous or otherwise, and I understand and acknowledge hospitality and customer service can be challenging and thankless tasks. Rather, I’m just using a specific review platform to provide honest feedback on a recent experience. I apologise for not being pro-active enough in asking for a menu nor the fire to be lit once we were sat, though to be honest in the 40 minutes we were there we’d only just about managed to get two drinks (ordered at the bar, we didn’t expect table service for this). I only wish local pubs and restaurants the very best in the current climate.

Came here while on holiday and we were really disappointed by the food, especially for the price. We were charged almost £9 for a 2 course kids menu even though they'd run out of the main pudding option and they were the greyest fish fingers I've ever seen. No budging on price for this and just offered ice cream on the way out there was even a 10% service charge added - they said they couldn't amend the bill but a few pounds off for good customer service to reflect the missing pudding would have been appreciated. £70 for a very mediocre meal for 3 feels a bit crazy - yes one was steak but we only had one pint and juice and shared one adult pud, was supposed to be a treat for our little family but still feels expensive

First time going here and the service was excellent, food was good but there was no WiFi, which is an issue for a pub in a known dead spot. (I did say I could fix it for them but I wasn't taken up on my offer. 🙂) So on the food, other members of the family reported that the nutroast was excellent, my squid starter was good but a bit on the small side, I had the pie main which was very good but the pea to chip ratio was a bit off (a lot of peas, not many chips). A word on the WiFi, there was public WiFi which asked for ridiculous things like my Postcode, mobile number and Date of Birth, once I spent 20 mins filling all that in (twice), it still didn't give me internet access, I reported it to the staff who said, "oh yes, that doesn't work, we have other WiFi which I can give you the password for but that hardly ever works as well." True enough, it didn't. This is a bit of a problem if you need to do any work. As above, food was mostly good though and service was excellent.

We've been here a few times but it is close to family so we went again for Sunday lunch. My wife and I plumped for the whole plaice and wished we hadn't once it arrived. It came with just a couple of little sprigs of broccoli but was smothered in capers which were so salty that my wife couldn't eat hers. I scraped it all clear and did eat the fish but it was such a shame to spoil the fish. My son had the lamb and our daughter the veggie stew both od which were polished off. The sticky toffee puddings were OK and I had the pumpkin cheese cake which was possibly the weirest dessert I've ever had. Biscuit base, sour cheese runny mess on the top with lumps of toffee that were so sticky they were almost imnpossible to chew. Coffee was por. We did get a dessert for free due to the fish but we won't be going back.

The food was very well presented, freshly cooked and delicious. The portions were generous but not overwhelming. The welcome and service was friendly, competent and delightful. We had a lovely time. Last but not least, the prices were a good reflection of all of the above. Book now!
