No longer open sadly, but great to talk to the person who used to run it...

Nice country pub with food. The pate starter I had was small and basic, but in fairness very tasty. I had muscle linguine as a main that was served in a frightening hot bowl that continued to cook and dry out the food. The pasta was served with a heap of parmesan on the top which was not mentioned on the menu and made it very cheesy. Friendly service but the chef is best kept in the kitchen and not customer facing. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

We ate here 3 times in the week, that shows how good it was, do not be put off by the appearance outside, could do with with a few baskets. Nice welcome by the barmen and locals. All the meals were very good, Exmoor burger I had twice, lasagne with the best garlic bread I have ever eaten and chips, chicken wrap, falafel wrap both with chips and scampi.

Goodbye! Oh dear! How can I tell you about our favourite local pub? This morning 28 July 2024 a friend knowing our love of the George Inn said the local newspaper had announced the pub was closing today. Our last visit was on the 21st June for a wonderful lunch. In all the occasions we have visited we have never had a bad experience and always been complimentary over the cuisine as their chef Dave knew his skills in his menus would please patrons. With plans in for a change of use it is not likely this wonderful hostelry will ever revert to being a pub. The local community is much concerned re this closure so we are not the only people who will miss venturing onto the Brendon Hills to celebrate family occasions. Tears are welling!! Stopped here for lunch (which is served all afternoon) on the way home from holiday. Very friendly welcome with a decent (ish) selection of beers (no IPA). Would definitely return. Also dog friendly which was a real bonus!

Bien, ¿qué podemos decir de aquí más que en el tiempo que era un lugar para detenerse y comer como teníamos hambre en un viaje de regreso a casa desde el norte no era nada especial, pero igualmente no era demasiado malo, así que en conjunto era "normal".
