Bien, ¿qué podemos decir de aquí más que en el tiempo que era un lugar para detenerse y comer como teníamos hambre en un viaje de regreso a casa desde el norte no era nada especial, pero igualmente no era demasiado malo, así que en conjunto era "normal".

I visited Waitrose and Starbucks. The staff in both concessions were so helpful and polite. Clean and well stocked with a good variety of facilities and choice.

Visited here during a long trip for breakfast, and was underwhelmed by the experience. We arrived at around 830, a time at which you would expect peak demand I would have thought. Unfortunately the company obviously didn't recognise this and seemed to only be employing three staff to cover the whole breakfast service (hot food, drinks, tills). There were around about four ahead of us in the queue but it still took over ten minutes for us to get to the front. Most people were ordering certain variants of the Full English Breakfast, but the staff clearly couldn't cope with the demand, as eggs were pretty much being cooked to order, and other items had to be constantly replenished. People were complaining that there eggs were undercooked due to this rush and indeed mine had a large layer of uncooked egg white attached to it. The rest of the full English was mediocre; really poor quality sausages, average bacon etc etc, and very underdone toast. The man serving the drinks had the easy job, although he was manning the tills too. There was no milk in the dispenser; I had to request some and he gave me a jug and asked me to take it to the dispenser! And all this for £7 - not good value. An OK option, but wasn't worth the wait at all.

The Quay Inn, the old saying says "Any port in a storm" but, if I pulled up at this port, I'd seriously consider braving the storm. I wandered down the seafront on a glorious spring day. The sun was beaming down on me. Nigel the ostrich had reached Land's End and was halfway across the Atlantic Ocean. The old woman was still clutching the reins for dear life. I heard the Navy had been deployed in an effort to rescue her... Anyway, I was once again hungry and decided to call into the Quay Inn. I looked at the menu and was impressed by the variety of food. However, the prices of the goods were a little scary. But, I'm on holiday, I thought. So why not treat myself? I sat down in the window seat on the left-hand side of the raised platform overlooking the ocean. I read the menu and the specials board. I ordered a pint of scrumpy, and it was crisp and refreshing. I ordered the Halloumi fries as a starter, the minted lamb shank with mashed potatoes and gravy, and the belly pork for my main. I waited a little while, not too long, for my starter to arrive. The fries were awful. The Halloumi was horrible. It was bland and clearly cooked from frozen. The minted lamb shank was sous-vide, and bought in, in bulk. Everything was so-so. Don't get me wrong, the lamb was tasty, but it lacked any passion. However, I have to now sadly move onto the pork... oh deary me... It was drier than an Egyptian mummy. The center of the rolled pork was so hard and dry, I honestly thought it was a bone. It was so dry and hard I feared, as I chewed it, I'd choke on one of the splinters. I honestly think a woodpecker would have difficulty piercing the meat. Hell, I bet a bloody jackhammer would struggle. Quay Inn 2/5 (Danny and the young lady who served me, as well as the cider, were the only redeeming qualities)

The breading of the fish and ships was really not good (only greasy and without any consistency), normal pea puree/fries. No lemon. The sauces were individually packaged, the tartar sauce tasted absolutely not like tartar sauce. Very little choice in beers (all the kegs were empty and apparently nothing in stock), I had to take a bottled beer which tasted nothing good. Bar door open, it was really cold to eat. The staff was very nice despite everything, too bad!

The fish and fries were crispy. No queue and decent portions. Curry sauce was nice but gravy wasn't the best. It was watery and the server had to give it to us in a cup so it didn't "soak through the container." Kind of wish we picked a different sauce for our loaded fries which were otherwise pretty good.
