Great pub in Minehead's main street. Used to frequent this place a lot when i lived in the area around 2010. Have since returned returned when visiting the area and the great service, food and drinks continue. Great play area outside for the kids, I could not get my daughter out of the play area... great excuse for another Guinness :D. Can't wait to return when I'm in the area in October.

This pub in Minehead boasts a fantastic location and a spacious setting, complete with a children's play area. However, the play area wasn’t lit in the evening, making it difficult to use after dark. The food was decent but nothing exceptional, and the menu felt a bit limited. Overall, a pleasant spot, but there’s room for improvement in both the dining options and outdoor facilities.

Great food! Arrived promptly after ordering & portion sizes were decent. Menu on the expensive side but doesn’t warrant knocking a star. staff friendly, helpful & knowledgable. toilets clean, well kept and up a flight of stairs (unsure on disabled toilets) plenty of wheelchair accessibility around the general restaurant though, ramps and wide door frames. Parking outside on street so it is hit or miss but there are local car parks nearby available for a small parking fee. Overall, really great restaurant with great quality of food & meat. Would go again.

On this particular visit we decided to book for the Sunday roast as we missed out when visiting before. I asked Lacy if we could book a table when we were there on the Saturday, she took my name and time and never came back to confirm anything I thought this odd, so I check with our waitress she appologised and took the relevant details needed, had I not checked I don't think we would have ad a reservation. The next day we were greated by Lacy, I told her we had a carvery reservation, she took us to a table and left us. We were confused when we needed to pay for our meal so we returned to the bar where a long que had now formed Lacy informed us that we needed to join the que to place our drinks order and pay for the food this I found very frustrating this should have been done before we were taken to our table. I feel Lacy needs a little more training in customer service. We have eaten here many times when staying in Minehead over the years and will return, the food is always very good and value for money.

The breading of the fish and ships was really not good (only greasy and without any consistency), normal pea puree/fries. No lemon. The sauces were individually packaged, the tartar sauce tasted absolutely not like tartar sauce. Very little choice in beers (all the kegs were empty and apparently nothing in stock), I had to take a bottled beer which tasted nothing good. Bar door open, it was really cold to eat. The staff was very nice despite everything, too bad!

The Quay Inn, the old saying says "Any port in a storm" but, if I pulled up at this port, I'd seriously consider braving the storm. I wandered down the seafront on a glorious spring day. The sun was beaming down on me. Nigel the ostrich had reached Land's End and was halfway across the Atlantic Ocean. The old woman was still clutching the reins for dear life. I heard the Navy had been deployed in an effort to rescue her... Anyway, I was once again hungry and decided to call into the Quay Inn. I looked at the menu and was impressed by the variety of food. However, the prices of the goods were a little scary. But, I'm on holiday, I thought. So why not treat myself? I sat down in the window seat on the left-hand side of the raised platform overlooking the ocean. I read the menu and the specials board. I ordered a pint of scrumpy, and it was crisp and refreshing. I ordered the Halloumi fries as a starter, the minted lamb shank with mashed potatoes and gravy, and the belly pork for my main. I waited a little while, not too long, for my starter to arrive. The fries were awful. The Halloumi was horrible. It was bland and clearly cooked from frozen. The minted lamb shank was sous-vide, and bought in, in bulk. Everything was so-so. Don't get me wrong, the lamb was tasty, but it lacked any passion. However, I have to now sadly move onto the pork... oh deary me... It was drier than an Egyptian mummy. The center of the rolled pork was so hard and dry, I honestly thought it was a bone. It was so dry and hard I feared, as I chewed it, I'd choke on one of the splinters. I honestly think a woodpecker would have difficulty piercing the meat. Hell, I bet a bloody jackhammer would struggle. Quay Inn 2/5 (Danny and the young lady who served me, as well as the cider, were the only redeeming qualities)
