The best restaurants in Sherborne West West Dorset South West

Travelled four hours to get to sherborne for a wedding, went on to the George for a meal all pre arranged, I was told the George was dog friendly, it was not! , I had to go outside or in another room with my dog totally missed the wedding celebrations, not to happy my dog is a toy dog would have sat on my knee no bother to anyone , funnily enough the manor house was happy to have her there for the ceremony so just be sure before you travel

Asked for dansak. Got a lemon and cinnamon dish. Not much chicken no pineapple. Not for me

Now we are not greedy eaters but It is rather pointless choosing from the eat as much as you like for £26 menu, as regardless of what you order they reduce the order. We ordered starters for 6 people and had enough for 4 people with some dishes that were ordered not supplied. The same thing then happened with the main course, they reduced the number of dishes so one person never had the meal they ordered. This happened on our previous visit which was upsetting but we thought we would give it another go. Very poor experience, Quality of the Food was only average at best. The restaurant was busy so I guess they do not need return business but I for one shall not be returning to this restaurant.

Excellent Sunday roast. The meat was so tender! Delicious pudding apple and mixed berries pie with custard. The staff went above and beyond as they were busy. Would highly recommend a visit to this pub. Thank you for fitting us in it was so appreciated. We will see you again in June! Many thanks.

Can't fault my stay from start to finish. All the staff are fabulous and two staff members went above and beyond to make my stay very special they are Tracey Buckingham and Bradley Davison. I will definitely return. My only problem is I couldn't review via QR code it has taken me 30 minutes to find somewhere to write this review which is why I've only given 4 stars overall. Can’t give 0 stars! Ordered food and have the receipt and the money has been taken from my account. Food is now late and no one is there to answer the phone.

Advertised as open but both doors locked despite sign inside saying open, opening hours saying til late (it's 7pm) and have seen people outside eating bags of chips 🤨🤨🤨
