What a treat ! Warm welcoming and comfortable. Excellent service , attentive and friendly . Now for the food ! Absolutely lovely . We had the set Sunday lunch and there was plenty of it and the flavour or the meat was to die for . Fresh local vegetables cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire puddings fluffy and large . A really nice starter a jug of soup each and super bread nibbles and a chicken liver parfait . I was most impressed at how well I was looked after as I have an allergy to alcohol. Nothing was too much trouble and I had my own soup as the other had alcohol in , it was tasty and sublime . As I couldn’t eat the parfait either they brought me a delicious baked Camembert instead . The main course came in a skillet , to help yourself. Plenty of delicious meat and vegetables . The sweet was a sticky toffee pudding and a lovely creamy rice pudding , better than Mother used to make ! Would I return ? Absolutely and I can’t wait !

Tavern on an island! Perfect after a solid 3 hours walking as much of Lundy as possible.

Called in after a day out hearing the good reviews of the place from the family and we were not disappointed. We had two fish and chips which were top quality and I would highly recommend

We stopped at the Red Lion in Clovelly on a long coastal walk. The location was beautiful, the food & drink amazing and the staff so friendly and helpful. One of the best pubs we've been to on our holiday. Would thoroughly recommend a visit if you're passing.

Visited for a cream team. Whilst in this part of the country it is rude not to try a cream tea. We were greeted by friendly staff & advised we can sit inside or out in the garden. We knew what we wanted to order so placed the order & Werner & sat in the lovely garden with wonderful views. We didn’t have long to wait for our cream tea’s & we got 2 scones which made me & my partner happy. They were one of the best we have tried. Lovely flavour with plenty of jam & cream & a decent size pot of tea. (Jam 1st then cream) , IF YOU VIAIT CLOVELLY- THIS IS A MUST FOR CREAM TEA, Oh & very reasonable price !

We visited the Mad Hatter’s restaurant for a hot chocolate and a cake. They were delicious and the staff were friendly. We also visited the Gnome Reserve, which was free.

We stayed here and the room was quaint as was the hotel but the food let it down badly I’m afraid. The breakfast was ok but everything else was not good. I think people would rather oay more and have good food especially as there’s nowhere else to eat .. I would go back to Clovelly but stay somewhere else

Unfortunately, our visit to The Harbour in Clovelly didn’t live up to expectations. The garlic chili gambas was underwhelming—swimming in oil and lacking in real depth of flavour. The pepperoni pizza was definitely from frozen. The food was served in takeaway containers with wooden cutlery that struggled to do the job, which really took away from the overall experience. While the quay view is undeniably lovely, it seems that’s what you’re mainly paying for. A disappointing stop in an otherwise charming village.
