Excellent fish, chips & mushy peas!! Homemade curry sauce very good too. Well worth a visit on the monthly themed food nights

Very pleasant countryside pub with a good selection of drinks and hot food. The outdoor areas are quaint and the locals welcoming. The only thing I'd change is the surgically bright white lights the illuminate the indoors. A warmer tone would make this a fat kore cosy environment and not feel like a doctor's waiting room.

Rang to book a table on the Friday for Saturday night. Got recorded message saying couldn’t book. Arrived for a drink at 8. One couple in the restaurant No atmosphere. Staff more interested in chatting to each other.Gents loos disgusting so our husbands said. When they were told one member said she used to clean them but wasn’t her job now and laughed.

The pub is under new management and so new menu, staff, decor too. We received a warm welcome in the cosy bar area. The draught beer was excellent and so many tempting dishes on the menu. We enjoyed our lunches and will be back soon. So lovely to have a local getting everything right. Their hard work and dedication is shining through. Thank you!

This pub is, quite rightly, often empty. As locals to Fivehead we used to visit regularly until the absolutely overbearing familiarity and sarcasm of the landlord got too much for us. Usually there are just a couple of regulars in there, one of whom falls asleep at the bar most nights. The food is quite bland, and with the bar often abandoned it's very hard to even order it. If a dispute about an order is entered into, then a "Landlord is always right" attitude is adopted. The fact that the landlord puts insulting messages to locals in the village newsletter because they don't frequent the pub doesn't help to make it more inviting.A big problem for disabled people is that the disabled toilet is actually used as a store room and is inaccessible without moving chairs and a table out of the way.

THE PUB HAS A NEW OWNER - Ignore old reviews A group of us went there for a pre-Christmas evening of food and skittles. The pub is attractive, homely and the welcome and sevice superb. Food was excellent with a good choice of dishes. Same for the draft beer. We will certainly return soon. Please support this fantastic pub!

Food and beer were OK but I was shocked when I went to the toilet to find an offensively misogynistic poster on display. No doubt they would claim it was all a joke, but if it's so funny why hide it in the gents? Why not put it somewhere where the rest of the human race can appreciate it?
