We were greeted with a very warm welcome when we popped in. Had the fish & chips & scampi & chips, local fish which was absolutely delicious with the best tasting batter ever! If we pass through the area again would have no hesitation in calling in, very reasonably priced good quality food, wish it was our local would be in there most evenings !

Unpretentious pub in beautiful rural setting. Very friendly landlady and a great all round ambience. Our sunday roast was wonderful and the portions were very large ! We finished up in the beer garden chatting with some lovely people. Real ale choice was limited so i had a bottled cider which was not cheap ! Overal, really good and would definately return.

A brilliant welcome and a very fine Sunday lunch served with delight. The vegetables were excellent as was the pork and wonderful roast potatoes. Lovely fun too, we were told we couldn’t see the pudding menu until we had finished our greens.

Had a really excellent Sunday roast lunch today. Lovely spicey soup followed by roast pork, and oodles of tasteful veg. Good draught beer. You have a choice of "normal" size or small. The normal was ample so regrettably had no room for dessert. A really lovely village pub as it should be. We will call again, and you should too.

Popped in to try another pub in our local area after moving here a year ago. We had the Beef chilli nachos as a starter, then 2 burgers and I had the 8oz rump steak. All were really tasty, well presented and served by friendly staff. Local brewery has a beer on tap too.

After a long hike through various villages this was a great stop for our lunch. Excellent food and great local ale. COVID measures were impressive. Staff were very good and friendly and contrary to a previous review, they know what they're doing and aren't inexperienced.

Called in for lunch and a couple of beers on a Sunday lunch time. So pleased we did. Well kept ale. Friendly and welcoming. Food really nice Sunday roast highlights had to be the roast potatoes and brocoli cheese. I had moules. Really nice. Despite having to skip between the bar and kitchen Mike was a good landlord. I feel a cleansing ale on a Friday after work is in order...........

Stumbled upon this pub with my other half after having great difficulty finding somewhere open on a Sunday after 6pm for dinner. The food was awesome, so yummy and could tell it was home cooked! So already 5*!Then all the staff and customers came as a bonus, they really helped myself and my partner get home. Really caring people willing to go that extra mile. Can't recommend this place enough. The chef/owner is an absolute legend - thankyou! X

We had a very pleasant meal in The Bell on a Saturday evening, the menu gave a good choice of meals, which we all enjoyed and there was an excellent choice of beer available. The team were very friendly and welcoming. It is a shame it is off the beaten track as I am sure many more people would enjoy going there. We will go back when we are next in the area.

I wouldn’t normally review an evening out at a pub but due to the great food and good service I felt I needed too. We visited on a Saturday evening for a pint and something to eat. The landlord made us feel very welcome, as did the other patrons and it felt like a very friendly social pub. Every single one of us commented on how much we enjoyed our dinner. It was genuine pub food but it felt fresh and everyone’s meal was cooked really well. I appreciate in this day and age things like that are expected, but all too often when people eat out at places it’s not good and we settle for it. This was most definitely not the case here, it was a really lovely evening, with some good beer, great food and nice people. We will definitely be going back and the fact they do a take away service as well is a bonus. Thank You for a lovely evening!!

The Bell is set in a lovely village and offers a good menu of standard pub food. It is well priced and portions are good. We enjoyed our visit. I would describe it as good pub food - not fancy or frilly but tasty and staff were very nice. I would go back.

Visited the bell Inn on a cold dark winters evening. Inside is a warm - in every way - welcoming Inn. 2 sided wood burning fire - lovely. Free WiFi, books, papers & magazines to look at. Ordered a pint of real ale and 1/2 local cider. Both very good and barman/landlord took pains to ensure both were perfect. Ordered 2 meals - a homemade burger in roll with chips and a butchers cut ham with eggs&chips.; Both very good, butchers ham too big for this ageing diner and sufficed for next days sandwiches. One minor gripe - chips were frozen type - not cut direct from potato. Would mostly heartily recommend the pub, staff, drinks & food(apart from the chips!!). Meals&drinks; as described totalled £27.

Ate here with a friend, my starter was tempura vegetables which was delicious my friend had crab cakes which he also enjoyed, my friend had the fish and chips which he thoroughly enjoyed, I had full rack of ribs with chips which were fine but nothing special, as we were being greedy pigs my friend had apple crumble and custard which he thoroughly enjoyed, I had waffle with icecream, the waffle was served cold which made it hard and doughy, waffles should always be served warm, I left most of it, the girl behind the bar was lovely and so helpful, on the whole fairly good food but not exceptional.

Called in one evening during our weeks holiday in Somerset in July. What a great pub to find as the atmosphere, staff and food where all superb. The pub does not have its own car park big enough but you can park across road in the village hall car park. When we turned up at 5.30 we were told that the chef/landlord does not open the kitchen til 6pm.This was not an issue as you can relax with a welcome drink in the friendly bar area or if the weather is ok you can sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet of Curry Mallet with the only break in the silence a passing car.The menu is superb with lots to choose from,we especially recommend the bar battered fish and chips! Overall as stated earlier a superb little pub in a picturesque part of Somerset

My brother was staying nearby in his caravan and the Bell had been recommended to him by the caravan site owner. The pub is one of those warm, friendly country pubs that we all wish we had in our own village. There were six of us and all of our meals were well presented and very tasty. There is a good selection of beers and wine. I had never been to the Bell before but I will certainly return and would recommend anyone in the area to do the same.

Enjoyed quick bite to eat in this rural, very traditional pub. Good choice of traditional English pub grub menu with a few specials too. Southern fried chicken, and fish and chips, were tasty, not over cooked and tasted fresh. Limited wine selection but enjoyed a well priced , delicious Merlot . decent local beers available , everything you would expect from a lovely little village pub.Extremely warm and friendly staff and locals made us feel at home too , so most welcome on blustery winters evening , tucked up by the fire. Happy to return on our next visit to the area.

We arrived to the area early in the evening and were very hungry. It was only our second night in England and we wanted to have some local food and drinks. We arrived around 8 pm at night and first ordered some drinks. The menu for the evening was written on a chalkboard so we selected Fish and Chips and Venison Pie. We were waiting for our dinner and the people at the table next to us starting chatting with us. It turns out that they visit every Wednesday evening for drinks and dinner. Needless to say , the food was excellent. I was even able to order fresh salad instead of mushy peas. The fish was excellently prepared and the chips were hot and not greasy at all. Dessert was key lime cheesecake with heavy cream on the side. The best we have ever had. Needless to say the locals bought us more drinks and drove us the half mile back up the road to our rental. We closed the bar down at 11:30 pm instead of 10 pm. We went back the next night and had more good food once again. The local cider was very good.

We ate at this local pub a few times on our week long county holiday. The food was good and the local cider on tap was some of the best cider I've ever had. The fish used to make my fish and chips plate tasted like it was caught that morning. The atmosphere of the pub was quaint and it's easy to pick up a conversation with a local. Just remember to order at the bar.

We went to this great village pub after an awful wake at a chain restaurant (where for £200 they served just 3 plates of sandwiches). The steak at The Bell Inn is exceptional: really well cooked, plus the chips were crunchy on the outside, but soft and fluffy inside. We had two steaks with a colossal pile of chips, and it came to £22. Fantastic value. We also had the fried chicken which was very good. The owners, Mikey and Jane, were great hosts. Just perfect for a small beautiful village with a long history.

Booked for dinner but on arrival, they thought we had booked for buffet, fortunately they had a table for us within a short time so we had a pre-dinner drink in the bar, which is fabulous and then went for a lovely meal in the Bistro, it is a small and intimate restaurant and quite modern and food is served on hot rocks, which you cook yourself to your own taste. Nice concept and food was really lovely BUT find that it gets pretty smoky when it is very busy. This is not a unique concept to us and it was a very nice change. Service was attentive and good and wine selection is great. Little pub at the Langport Arms is friendly and wonderful for pre or post drinks too.

What a delightful place to stay at. We stayed for a couple of nights to visit the surrounding area and had the friendliest welcome and comfortable stay. James, the waiter in the evening, was a credit to them. He helped you choose what to eat and was attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding, especially the fish dishes. The breakfast was the best we have ever had and was cooked to order with local produce. Cannot wait to return.
