The pub is under new management and so new menu, staff, decor too. We received a warm welcome in the cosy bar area. The draught beer was excellent and so many tempting dishes on the menu. We enjoyed our lunches and will be back soon. So lovely to have a local getting everything right. Their hard work and dedication is shining through. Thank you!

Called in with a friend for a drink and we were tempted by the friendly welcome and enticing menu to opt for stopping for one of the “new to menu” pizzas and I am so glad we did! We both opted for the spicy pizza and I have to say… it was one of the best pizzas I have had. Freshly cooked and fully loaded - perfect! 😋

Sunday lunch at this pub today with son / daughter in law and grandkids … Reserved a table by phone but when we arrived realised we needn’t have… all tables empty!.. Ominous feeling… Only roasts on menu … that’s fine it’s what we were aiming for … Choice of beef or pork or chicken…children’s portions available. Food arrived and we thought we’d ordered vegetarian!!… barely found any meat on plates. I ordered pork and asked for extra crackling.. no problem said server … I had NO crackling at all… but for some reason we got an extra bowl of gravy!!.. All tasty enough especially the cauliflower cheese . Felt we’d been short changed and didn’t bother with dessert instead bought some in Tesco on way home … Not going back or recommending…

Went with a party of friends for Sunday lunch and was extremely disappointed at the standard of food. We were sat at a table outside the kitchens yet everything was served lukewarm with glutinous gravy. The meat was just piled on the plate burying, or should I say, concealing the small potato. The carrot, parsnip, yes singular, were greasy, whereas the broccoli, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese were missing some much needed warmth. The waitress kindly offered to bring us any additional vegetables so to supplement the meagre portion of roasts we asked for more along with some additional gravy. What was not mentioned was that these items would then be charged for, even £1.50 for the gravy. Not recommended and neither will we be returning.

We have had several Sunday Roasts here and they have all been delicious. Both my husband and I are vegetarian and we were over the moon when we discovered that The Crown serve a proper roast dinner for us as well. All too often it seems the Sunday lunch is preserved just for the meat eaters but not here! Our food was delicious, veg wasn’t overcooked and the gravy was sublime. We also loved that you could order a regular roast or large roast. We both ordered large roasts as we don’t have sweet tooth’s so wouldn’t be interested in the dessert menu. We spotted on our last Sunday lunch outing that you could even order side portions of sage and onion stuffing and roasties! They even cater for children who don’t want a roast dinner. Our son was very happy with his burger and fries from the children’s menu. Staff are great and they have all looked after us on our visits and we couldn’t ask for more.

Gone downhill and now very few customers. Bar service is genial enough but getting fed seems to be a problem nowadays. Much better pubs nearby which is a pity because this was a good place a few years ago.

In the middle of the village close to the church. The Crown is dog friendly, but just put your head round the door to check that the resident dog is behind bars and not guarding its domain! Extensive menu at very (almost surprisingly cheap) prices.
