What a wonderful place. We went for breakfast (8 of us) and loved it. The food was delicious (cooked breakfast), the service excellent and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent with allergies. The decor was retro which gave it a great feel. The sale of local products was an added bonus. We will definitely be visiting again before we finish our holiday. A cheeky piece of cake was taken away too. All the cakes looked delicious. The Lupin lady 😀

Stumbled across the brewery whilst exploring the local area, opted to try their paddle of 4x 1/3 pints which gave a good range of their beers and ciders. Staff were lovely and offered great recommendations and information about the drinks on offer. Definitely recommend trying the Sundown ale and the Elderflower Cider, I even took home a ‘growler’ as I was so pleased! Although we didn’t eat when we were there I’ll definitely be coming back to eat when we’re next in the area as everything coming out looked delicious 😋

So our first night in the area and looking forward to some local food. Sadly the meal we had was very poor. The fish special had run out by 7.30 despite there hardly being anyone in. We ate off the wrongly named " Al a carte" menu...should say basic pub grip. A tasteless brie (hardly any brie in it) and mushroom burger turned up with two onion rings and some not very nice chips. When we complained we were offered a fish replacement, which came with nothing else and had been quickly cooked ...not very well. Thankfully the weekend improved with visits to The Millbrook and The Cricket.

I will try and keep this review constructive and balanced Disappointing unremarkable meal for 2. Have eaten here previously several times but the menu has changed to a more traditional style- which was uninspiring and overpriced. Pub grub can still be home cooked and tasty.. We were the only diners on a Saturday evening ( 1 other table of 2 did arrive) I ordered steak. ‘medium rare’ it came out ‘very well done’ .. sent it back .. came back ‘rare/ blue’ … so I gave up… shouldn’t be that difficult to cook a steak correctly. Whilst I was waiting for my steak to be redone my partner had chicken & sweet chilli pizza which was soggy and bland . ( mostly eaten alone while I was waiting) We had already paid when ordering and no reduction offered ( would rather have had a decent meal) Didn’t bother with dessert and sad to say we won’t return. Waiting staff were pleasant

Staying locally, we booked in for dinner on our first night. Lovely welcome, nice and busy bar and we had a cosy table near the front. Almost every table was reserved or occupied on a fairly bleak October Wednesday, so definitely worth booking! Food was nice - well cooked steak which was properly medium as asked for and my wife had a great piece of cod. We weren’t hungry enough to try starters or desserts but when we’re next in the area, and we will be doing some more family history research soon, we shall go for round two!

Nice location and wanted to try as change from fish in start bay inn next door. What a poor meal. Fish the measliest portion ever eaten ! Could have filled 2 fish fingers with all the fish it had in loads of dry batter. Friend said his was ok, had a sandwich. Would have sent it back but friend time limited. Staff unfriendly and disinterested Don’t bother

Great late lunch with family, biggest haddock I have ever seen. Had that locally caught ling, calamri and my wife just cheesy chips. All with crispy fresh batter, chips golden but soft inside. Even cheesy chips were top, 1/2 chips, then cheese, more chips and topping of more cheese. All top quality, even the ice cream and with nice pints of Otter, bitter & ale on tap. Great way to end off long walk on the beach. You won’t be disappointed..

Despite being off the beaten track, well worth a visit . Not least for the antique, jewelry and craft sheds outside. The deli is well stocked and th butchery is excellent. Two niggles spoiled our day. 1. Being so far out , car is the only wat to access. Given the demographic of visitors, like most farm shops and garden centres, is mainly of the grey haired variety only having one disabled parking space is ridiculous for the number of customers. 2. Secondly having to wait in a queue with 2 other customers for severalminutes, while the blond lady on the till has a trivial conversation with a colleague. No apology or explanation , this does not encourage a positive review. Shame with a more customer focussed attitude, could have been 5 star.

Passing by on our way to Slapton Ley. We called in for a look around while it was raining. We decided to have lunch. QUALITY!!! Meals were fantastic. Ham and Eggs for me. The specials beer battered fishfinger sandwich for my Mrs. Portions were large. Great value. Well cooked and well presented. The Staff were nice and polite. When I got up to pay I noticed the Brownies, Tiffin and Rock Roads. OMG!! Got a couple to takeaway. Really I should have got more. They were Beltin!!! Large and tasty. When I did pay I accidentally gave the young girl £20 too much. She immediately brought this to my attention and handed it back. So along with nice and polite I can add honest. I’ve travelled both Devon and Cornwall counties 2-3 times each year for the last 8 years and I’d say this was one of the LITTLE GEM finds we all look for. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Along with great food their farm shop is great and the little shops have some great little gifts. Also noticed their own brewery and LIVE MUSIC on certain nights. Wish we had known about this on our first day. Not sadly our last.
