The best restaurants in Stokenham South Hams South West

What a wonderful place. We went for breakfast (8 of us) and loved it. The food was delicious (cooked breakfast), the service excellent and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent with allergies. The decor was retro which gave it a great feel. The sale of local products was an added bonus. We will definitely be visiting again before we finish our holiday. A cheeky piece of cake was taken away too. All the cakes looked delicious. The Lupin lady 😀

You won’t get a fresher drink anywhere else, everything on tap is made in the building you sit in to drink it. Plenty of choice to choose from and if you can’t decide you can get a paddle with a number of different options on it. We didn’t eat here only had drinks but I would come back here again next time I’m in the area.

Fabulous pub in a stunning, tucked away, location. Warm friendly atmosphere with a great restaurant. Some of the best pub food in south Devon.

Lovely place for lunch, great atmosphere and genuinely friendly team. Very good value for money and while you cannot tell from the outside it is a cosy space inside.

The best roast in the south hams! The pub is really lovely and cosy and the staff are fantastic. We had one of the best roasts we’ve ever had! And the sticky toffee pudding is amazing. Cannot recommended this pub enough 🙂

New landlords. Sensible, reasonably priced pub food. Beer more expensive than the nearby Tradesman's Arms

We visited the Trademan's Arms in the evening and had a great time. Our dog was fussed over and given a spot by the fire. The service was very friendly and the food was all excellent. We look forward to returning.

Great cake with a Latte, lovely service from staff. Well worth a stop and break!

We've been coming to The Start Bay Inn for quite a few years. Great ambiance, service always as expected and most meals excellent. However, on every one of our last half dozen or so visits, someone's fish & chips has had bones in it. For some of us, finding even ONE bone can put us off our whole meal. Unfortunately, after our last visit, both of us encountered our usual enigma after agreeing that we'd give it 'one more try'. I'm sorry to say that we will no longer be ordering fish & chips here as there are other chippies whose cod/haddock are always bone-free and live up to what should be a fantastic south Devon experience.

Amazing breakfast , the eggs benedict were beautifully presented and tasted amazing , The Cafe was so clean and airy and the staff so pleasant and smiley , look forward to returning for a Sunday roast soon,

Despite being off the beaten track, well worth a visit . Not least for the antique, jewelry and craft sheds outside. The deli is well stocked and th butchery is excellent. Two niggles spoiled our day. 1. Being so far out , car is the only wat to access. Given the demographic of visitors, like most farm shops and garden centres, is mainly of the grey haired variety only having one disabled parking space is ridiculous for the number of customers. 2. Secondly having to wait in a queue with 2 other customers for severalminutes, while the blond lady on the till has a trivial conversation with a colleague. No apology or explanation , this does not encourage a positive review. Shame with a more customer focussed attitude, could have been 5 star.
