The best restaurants in Stoke Plymouth South West

Stop off here weekly for coffee as it’s the best coffee in town. Staff are always super friendly and although a small shop always has a nice atmosphere. Last few times I’ve gone to visit and passed by, the shop has been closed. Hope this is only temporary and not permanent!

Friendly, family run business who pride themselves in providing top notch food for all occasions, I have booked their services on numerous occasions and I cannot recommend these guys enough! FIRST CLASS!

I ordered the ultimate breakfast, and I wasn’t disappointed, having seen multiple posts on Facebook about this place, I just had to go myself, definitely a must go to place for a traditional English breakfast done correctly…!!!

One of the best fish and chips shops in Plymouth! Been coming here since about 2010 and moved away for a few years and recently started coming here again and it's as good as I remembered! Always lovely staff and food is fab!

Great value, fresher vegetables compared to competitors, consistent standard. Could be less oil in spring rolls and maybe zingier curry sauce but dependable and colourful.

Always great choice for gluten free! Very happy today to find gluten free amaretti biscuits. Great coffee too!!!

I've been coming here for 12yrs since moving to Plymouth..I've never ever caused problems or had any problems in there..until about 6wks ago I went on a Thursday night and the 2 bar staff (male and female) over charged me & not by accident-the female had been a previous one night stand to my then ex partner (first time meeting her) I was friendly towards her etc I was stood at the bar with alot of other people drinking..I was threatened by her blah blah blah I stayed there as she was the one with the problem & I was around & talking to alot of other people I know/knew of..I made the male write down that he over charged to which he got nasty telling me to leave & trying to blah that I wasn't over charged until I told him I'd get the landlord to look on the camera to which he told me to leave, I was in there last week and he then told me to leave (again) I've now gone in today ordered a Carling with (a different barmaid) he was there & as soon as he heard my voice he turned round to say I was barred! I asked him why he replied he had 5 complaint about me (it's a lie) the last time I was there (last week) I asked him to call the landlord (who I know) he 'apparently' called him to no avail and told me I had to go! Unless you are a rowdy male he don't want you in there! If you're a young female who won't sleep with him then you get bullied and dirty looks and asked to leave every time! And now I'm barred after only meeting him twice! Absolutely vile behaviour from him! I look forward to your reply (you know who you are) I've put 2 stars for the food as it's ok but frozen and heated in a microwave in front of you (each to their own and I suppose it's about stock and profit) 3 stars because the service with the other staff is usually good! But he's knocked it down to 2! And 4 stars for atmosphere as it's usually quiet and everyone knows everyone...it's a nice place for 1 or 2 quiet drinks...

A genuinely nice place to be. The food is amazing and the staff are so thoughtful. They also have a delivery service which I will be making the most of.

Having been a fan of Codmothers we though we'd give Stoke Fish & Chips a go. We certainly were not disappointed. The cod was perfectly cooked, the batter crispy and hadn't gone floppy or greasy by the time we got home - perfect in fact. The chips, it is true, were somewhat insipid and not as cooked as they could have been, but were perfectly edible and certainly plentiful. That is the only 'down' side - cook your chips for five minutes more but other than that, delicious.
