Stop off here weekly for coffee as it’s the best coffee in town. Staff are always super friendly and although a small shop always has a nice atmosphere. Last few times I’ve gone to visit and passed by, the shop has been closed. Hope this is only temporary and not permanent!

Have driven past this little coffee shop many, many times and managed a visit for the first time today. What a find! It's small and perfectly formed - only space for about 8 people at a time, but that's part of its charm. The owner is super friendly and extremely helpful. I had a coffee, sourdough toast with homemade jams and a chai latte. The jams were exceptional and the chai latte the best I've tried. A great little stop off when out in the village, and obviously popular with several "regulars" who came in while I was there. I will be back to try a breakfast sometime soon, but for today I am happy to have brought a blondie and a cinnamon brioche bun to have later. Love it!

Best coffee In Plymouth for sure, and the most flavoursome food, sausage rolls are out of this world. Staff are super friendly. Great place to go and chill out.

Pleasantly put together. Reasonable selection on menu. Some items a bit pricey. Friendly staff. If hungry daytime in this street, would use again.

My partner and I live near here and happened to stumble upon this lovely little coffee shop. The owners and staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. The coffees were hot and delicious (and not burnt like in other highstreet stores)and breakfast was absolutely delicious. It was nice to not actually have your usual "frozen" items as you could tell everything had been made fresh and to order. The sausage patty and sourdough toast were my favourite parts! We will definitely be returning!

My daughter bought home some lovely cakes for us to try and wow!! The brownies, blondie and cheesecake was to die for! We will definitely be returning to try their breakfast at the weekend, and to maybe sample a few more flavors of the brownies.

Although small it is perfectly formed, the ambience is warm and inviting and the staff are friendly and accommodating. We had some great coffees, both hot and iced and tried their home made bakes, I can wholeheartedly recommend the sausage rolls and the cakes are just great.

I genuinely wake up at night craving the Hungry Bear brownies. Spotless tables, wonderful staff that are constantly doing all they can for customers to give a comfortable, easy dining experience, lovely and cosy atmosphere. An honest, sustainable, welcoming little place with community at it's heart, fuelled by impeccable food and drink! I'm lucky enough to be able to visit this place often, and see it grow in leaps and bounds. And the prices? VERY wallet friendly! Which is delightful when you taste how good everything is and crave more...! I have impaired mobility, and always feel very comfortable and accommodated here. I highly recommend the salted caramel brownies and banana oat shakes!!

I'm not being dramatic when I say that Hungry Bear is home to the best coffee I have ever tasted. The quality of the savoury and sweet foods is incredible. The breakfasts that are offered on the weekends are gorgeous. All this mixed with the lovely staff and the fact that everything is extremely fairly priced makes it an easy place to recommend.

Great food, friendly staff and owners. New and seasonal flavours always worth a try. They have gluten free and vegan options that taste as good as the rest.

Popped in a few days back for a bite to eat. So glad we did - great selection of food, drinks and cakes (gluten free etc available too). Very welcoming staff, nice environment and reasonably priced. We also ended up taking a selection of brownies home with us for later. Will be going back to try one of their breakfasts. If you're in the area it's definitely worth a visit.

After stumbling upon this place late last year, it has quickly become my favourite coffee shop in Plymouth. The coffee is full of flavour and prepared with care. You can always accompany your drink with a delightful homemade treat, personal favourites include the white chocolate and raspberry blondie, the chocolate orange brownie and the sausage roll. During the weekends breakfast is being served, again if you are looking for quality and your breakfast to be prepared with care, you won't be disappointed. Highlights of the breakfast for me, the homemade sausage patty is bursting with flavour, the homemade hashbrowns put other hashbrowns to shame and your coffee is included! I will be returning for breakfast! The service is always friendly and the owners ensure a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere within.

disappointed in the brunch i had here today. ordered a crumpet benedict which was £12 then had to pay an extra £3.50 just if i wanted smoked salmon with it. for the price of the add on i wasn’t expecting rations of salmon. being by the sea you’d think they wouldn’t be short of salmon but clearly they were as they were so reluctant to put it on my plate. also the eggs were ridiculously over cooked and yolks were not runny which is kind of key for an eggs royale. overall very disappointed for the price i paid. they clearly spent too much time making the dish look pretty and not enough time making it taste good. very pretentious and overpriced will not be back. cute decor tho.

We like the bread and the snack food here, as well as the friendly staff and atmosphere inside and out. When we go it’s generally busy. Came down this Wednesday and saw the chalk board sign with new times Thursday to Saturday only. There was nothing about this on the website and we hope that it’s only temporary.

A must visit. Not being from Plymouth we wanted good food and good value place to get a bite to eat. Luckily we found “Salt & Pepper Kitchen” after reading some views. What a welcome from Ervis, full of smiles and genuine warmth. We chose sit inside but they have a few tables outside. The food is locally sourced and home made. The loaded fries with pulled pork was delicious. As was the Seasonal Turkey panini.. with all the trimmings & proper cut thick turkey breast. Really exceptional value! The cafe is convenient for the centre. Very clean and cosy. With a good menu selection. If we were local this would be easily a favourite place to visit. Why not give it a try.. we are sure you won’t be disappointed.. thank you Ervis! You really know how to treat your customers.
