Wow! We booked a table here as visiting Bampton and needed somewhere to eat. We were not disappointed! From the animal door stoppers on display in the window to the log burning fire to the warm friendly and genuine welcome the first impression was great- my friend and I were a little fussy with how we like our poached eggs cooked and the chef delivered them perfectly 🥳 and with good humour! My vegetarian breakfast was delicious, great quality food. Very highly recommended, can’t wait to come back.

home cooking at its best ...generous, delicious, well presented and mega enjoyable. this small 20 seat restaurant has a great local reputation and when you go there you will understand why and agree ....enough said!! amazing. you need to book and sunday roast is just superb. go....you will be pleased you did.

In Bampton, Devon late on a Saturday night with limited food options...Googled, and found, Buddys. Excellent egg burger and chips from the friendly owner, a true life saver 🙂

Lovely, cozy place, more of a cafe. They have wonderful brownies, scones, coffee and tea, and the lemon polenta cake was amazing. Gorgeous fireplace to sit by, and the staff are so nice too.

Went for a valentines meal last night and had such a wonderful experience. Lovely, attentive, friendly staff and EXCEPTIONAL food. 3 courses and from start to finish it was faultless. Lovely lit fireplace and warm friendly service to match. Thanks to all at the Swan for a memorable evening.

Stayed here for New Years Eve 2024. We chose the pub / hotel for its remote location and lack of fireworks (we have dogs and one is traumatised by loud noises) - from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. A quintessential English pub with wonderful, nicely designed and spacious rooms and very comfy beds (we had Beech and Birch). The owners and locals were very friendly and inclusive, taking care to make us feel welcome. We felt very well looked after. Breakfast was delicious (full English) and served with locally made tea and coffee (Miles, made in Porlock) and unlimited juice. We are happy that this place is only 50 mins from where we live because we will definitely be back for lunch and will find an excuse to stay again soon, I’m sure… highly recommend. We called in for something to eat but it cost us over sixteen pounds for two coffees and two bland cakes you could go to bridge house just up the road and for another three pounds you can have two large coffees with two large snacks ,etc, Welsh rarebit with masses of gammon .the decor does not suit the bakery though I suppose that's what you are paying for but l for one do not like being ripped off,why calling a bakery when you can't buy any bread or cakes as you have to order it days in advance and there isn't any thing on display in the window. They are trying to be an upmarket cafe in the wrong place.we won't bother going there again ,rather go up the road ., at least we won't be ripped off.

Fabulous cod, chips and peas with lovely crisp batter! Everything is cooked to order so expect a small wait. Very reasonable price too. Highly recommended! 😊🐟🍟

We arrived to a very friendly welcome from the landlord, locals and the pub dog Booboo. The landlord said it was just him working so the food might be a bit slower than usual. He needn't have worried as I have had far slower service elsewhere but a nice touch to let us know. The drinks were a good selection of ales and ciders. We whiled away the time chatting to the regulars and landlord and fussing over the Frenchy Booboo. So onto the food. WOW, JUST WOW. This was some of the best food we have ever had in a pub. Amazing flavours and cooked to perfection. We left wishing we had found this place earlier in our holiday.

Visited for an early dinner after a nice walk on Exmoor. Food was being served all day so we were able to have an early dinner at 4:30. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient. A nice atmosphere too.

I am thrilled that you are getting back up and running. I've had so many relaxed and friendly hours in the cafe with friends that I am looking forward to more accompanied by a fab nut roast and side salads fit for a queen. Airy and plenty of space (unlike other cafes that cram as many in as they can) so it feels very Covid safe even without have to make big changes.
