The best restaurants in Mid Devon South West

A really really great cafe which I wish I’d known about earlier. Great safe play area for the kids. Really lovely range of food and drinks and some of the best staff of any venue in the south west. We called in as part of a day out on our 4 yr olds birthday, mentioned it in passing and they even got him a little cake and a candle! Nice touch. Will definitely be heading back soon

In Bampton, Devon late on a Saturday night with limited food options...Googled, and found, Buddys. Excellent egg burger and chips from the friendly owner, a true life saver 🙂

Dropped by for a quick s*** but there was no toilet. Decided to grab a sausage roll instead. Ate it like a duck.ljhgdhmdgnsgbagnsgn

Mi hija y yo comimos aquí mientras estábamos alojados en la posada. Genial, comida tradicional, bien presentada con porciones generosas. Muy recomendable.

Vegan Butter - "Possibly the best vegan spread out there" Activated Charcoal Cashew Cheese and biscuits - "I don't think I've ever tasted nicer cheese and biscuits" We are in Masterchef Finals territory!

The best meals out we've EVER eaten! Absolutely outstanding food!! Wish we lived closer we'd dine here every single week. A table at The Ring of Bells in Cheriton Fitzpaine is now always part of our Devon holidays. <3

Jim Cairney I salute you ! What a fantastic ,relaxed , fun , eating experience. The food speaks for itself , absolutely excellent, delivered in an easy unpretentious manner. Jim, the chef /owner is full of anecdotes & quickly builds a wonderful rapport with his diners , ensuring that all have a fun time. He effortlessly switches from creating divine dishes in his kitchen, to entertaining front of house ….. a master indeed. Don't watch the clock , don’t expect airs & graces , do relax & enjoy his unique eating environment , then you will be assured a great dining experience.

Great biker cafe near the gorgeous church. Very comfortable, and some custom bikes to see.

We got a warm, easy welcome from Caroline which made us feel immediately at home in their beautiful B&B. To call it a B&B though doesn’t do it justice. The room was very cosy and basically faultless. We spent the most gorgeous evening sat by the wood burner that had been lit for us downstairs ready for our complimentary tea and homemade (beyond delicious) scone and tart on arrival. Breakfast was another treat, consisting of very good attention and the most amazing ethically sourced produce. Caroline and Nigel have developed a very special place and we will definitely be return customers.

Thoroughy enjoyable lunch. Good food, a couple of pints of Port Stout, friendly service and the sun shone on us as we chose to sit outside. What more could we want! We will return.

home cooking at its best ...generous, delicious, well presented and mega enjoyable. this small 20 seat restaurant has a great local reputation and when you go there you will understand why and agree ....enough said!! amazing. you need to book and sunday roast is just superb. go....you will be pleased you did.

We ordered from Thai herb kitchen while on holiday in Devon. The best Thai food we’ve EVER had!! So fresh and delicious, we were so impressed! Can’t recommend it enough, we will definitely be ordering again!

Diamond place. Run by a couple who are without a doubt the friendliest people for miles around. Amazing food, amazing that it's vegan too. Lovely setting to enjoy great food. Joined with the plant nursery that's full of healthy plants and an abundance of knowledge from Terry. Visited so many times and the welcome is always warm!
