Cafe Banana in Mid Devon

Wonderful food! Brilliant to go to a true vegan cafe with plenty of variety to choose from. Friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend a visit.

Wow this is a great find so many vegan plant based cakes and food available. Delightful husband and wife team which are so friendly and helpful; It gets better loads of lovely plants to buy from the nursery as well. Already planning our next visit :-)

Brunch at Cafe Banana was brilliant! Delicious freshly made food- loved the slaw! Coffee was perfect and a lovely choice of cakes and bakes. The brownie was stunning… slight saltiness and not too sweet. It’s a really pretty cafe and very welcoming. It feels rather as though you’re on holiday sitting outside or under the canvas shade surrounded by banana palms and Mimosa. Excellent value for families - we had 3 vegetarian brunches 3 coffees, an elderflower, a chai and two cakes for £32. We also bought 7 plants for £13 and it’s a long time since I paid as little as that! We will be returning soon.

Thanks again for our lunch, we really enjoyed our soups. It was great to be able to sit outside jndee a canopy and be next to the plants. Looking forward to another visit soon

Not even vegan but this is by far my favourite place for lunch and I always take visitors. The food is great value and always delicious, and the coffee is the best. The owners are welcoming and work hard to create a relaxed atmosphere. The plants make it a real oasis of calm and it is very dog friendly.

Stopped here on the way to Woolacombe for some lunch, and what a lovely spot. Some great plants here too buy at a very competitive price, and the little cafe banana is the gem. Great options for vegans,lovely couple who run the show, and very helpful and knowledgeable. Would recommend this, and happy to return

Excellent! Food was lovely with good options for allergies and intolerances. Garden centre is also really good with knowledgeable owners. We would thoroughly recommend it!

We stopped here for refreshments on our way to our holiday home in August 2021 and we were SO glad we did. The homemade cakes were delicious, the service friendly and the range of kombucha flavours was fabulous. The outdoor tables in the garden centre are perfect. This is a MUST for all vegans visiting and living in Devon (AND anyone who isn’t plant-based too)!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch with a friendly welcome here. The food came swiftly and we could take our dog here too. It’s so peaceful and we will certainly be back. A little treasure.

Perfect outdoor setting, well spaced tables, lovely food at a great price. I appreciated the strict observance to covid safety rules. Its such a treat to visit this friendly cafe.

Went on a week day for lunch and couldn’t to fault it. Owner was lovely and welcoming and really helpful. So nice to find lots of things that are vegan! Great location too. Very reasonable prices. Will defo be returning soon. :)

Have been here a few times, for coffee and cake, and for lunch a couple of times. Always good service, great prices, and lovely food. Great to have veggie and gluten free. The bonus being you can also wander around the plant nursery and find some unusual plants.

Cafe Banana is in a small plant nursery near Tiverton. All food is veggie, and most is vegan - including a selection of lovely cakes. They offer a range of unusual teas as well as coffee, with a choice of plant milks. The owners are friendly and helpful. The cafe is small but a good space, with additional seating outside for warmer weather. Much recommended for anyone living in or visiting the area.

How anyone has given it less than top marks is beyond me! The lady who runs the place is always very friendly and welcoming and it's a little vegan haven, close to tiverton and all exceptionally well priced. My favourite place for sure

We popped in on Sunday morning, never been before, for a drink and cake. Such a lovely place. Sat outside where it was really relaxing. Lovely feel to it. Coffee was smooth and the cakes were fab. We had carrot cake and chocolate peanut slice, both were really tasty. Definitely come back here again and support our local independent traders

Home-made Soup, Wraps, Kebabs, Pitta, Salad, Changing Daily Specials and Lovely Cakes & Teas/Coffees... etc etc etc Many ingredients grown on site !!Mine Host very Friendly too.Thanks for some Good Experiences.

We came for lunch with our teenagers and we all enjoyed it very much. The wraps, kebabs, coffees and cakes were all brilliant. The cafe is a fabulous design, reminiscent of a Caribbean bar/cafe and the owners were kind and charming.

We were in Cullompton and struggling to find a vegan cafe, café banana was 20 minutes away but so glad we made the journey instead of heading straight back home. A little oasis, good coffee, delicious food (and so reasonable priced.) A great plant selection, again very reasonable priced. Owners are so friendly, knowledgable and helpful. And there is an awesome doggo named Lola

you could think you were abroad in this bit of paradise in Devon. It was recommended at my hotel I was staying at. Food is excellent and it is a place you don't want to leave in a hurry. The adjoining garden centre is like being abroad with its unusual plants and flowers. Prices are good and you are made very welcome. Excellent place to visit.

Great little cafe' within a brilliant privately run nursery. Ever changing menu, with lots of exciting things to choose from. Lovely little patio to enjoy the warmth of the sun in this little idyllic suntrap. I shall look forward to coming again.

Visited this magic little cafe and nursery today with my decidedly carnivorous husband. The food we had was delicious and beautifully presented. The setting is lovely and Melissa, the owner/chef is friendly and welcoming.She graciously shared her recipe for seitan which I can't wait to try. Do visit if you like quirky friendly vegan cafes wherevyiu can also buy plants at very reasonable prices.

My wife and I are vegans and we live locally but have only just found this little gem. It seems to be a vegan café with vegetarian options - how refreshing! There's a good choice, the food is lovely and the coffee is good too. The chef/waitress is knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful, and it all comes at a good price. What's not to like?

Melissa has set something up that is quite special in Withleigh.We both loved our vegan chocolate and cherry cake and my partner stated his hot chocolate made with almond millk was lovely.We will be back to try some of the other lovely vegan and veggie options on offer.Theres free parking and its on a site of a plant nursery.Melissa told me they are planning activities at the cafe and had held a hanging basket workshop there that day

Nice little vegan find with good options, food was okay. Horrible whinging child ruined the experience unfortunately.

This wonderful quirky little café was an amazing find. The best Vegan cakes I have tasted in a long while. We had soup which was delicious, and then took home several of the wonderful cakes. Definitely should be on the Vegan eatery trail. Situated in the plant nursery this café is surrounded by exotic and lush flowers and vegetation. Highly recommend this little vegan oasis to fellow travellers. Oh and yes dogs are welcome!

Brilliant little cafe, with a great choice of cold and hot food, hot drinks and lovely cakes suitable for vegans and gluten free. My 4 year old loves the nursery also so it's a double whammy, good food and good plants!

I keep going back to this pretty little place. The proprietor is friendly and happy to share some of the secrets of her recipes. The nursery itself has a wide variety oc plants at reasonable prices.

We know this plant nursery so were keen to try their newly opened cafe. It is small and personal, nicely decorated, clean and friendly. Melissa makes everything to order, making sure it is exactly what you would like. Lots of vegan options too, including three non-dairy choices for tea and coffee. Outside seating in the nursery on nice days. Tasty fresh lunch, we really enjoyed it. Fantastic value, best in the area, worth a regular visit!
