Highly recommended Sunday Roast, Tender beef and roast potatoes carrot parsnips creamy mash huge yorkshire pudding gravy, separate broccoli and cauliflower cheese and a medley of buttered greens. Gluten Free version available minus Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese. Excellent. Friendly staff, comfortable traditional pub with easy listening music. Best Roast dinner, selection of dessert including Gluten Free option. Great value too.

An outstanding county pub! The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff made for a perfect dining experience. I had the steak pie, and it was incredible—tender, flavorful beef in a rich gravy, wrapped in perfectly crisp pastry. Comfort food at its best! Five stars, highly recommended! Was served my Zoë

What a great place to grab a nice lunch, first time here but have lived in the area for years, was really pleasantly surprised. Lots of outside seating, not so much indoor. Had the savoury tea, was tasty and filling. Service was exceptional, friendly and quick. Area is lovely , if you feel up for it take the footpath to Budleigh beach.

Eat lunch here for first time yesterday wow spectacular views & meal which was very reasonably priced. I had jacket potato with the best prawns I've tasted in a very long time together with side salad with a beautiful dressing thank you

Things we loved - on site parking, loads of outside seating, welcoming ambiance, friendly engaging staff, large comfortable bedroom, the evening meal was a booked extra but was value for money and delicious. Things that made the visit outstanding for us - Having our two collies made as welcome as we were, the lovely surprise that they could have doggie dinners & breakfasts, which they enjoyed so much that we are rethinking how we feed them All the staff were lovely but a special mention has to be given to Michelle who manages the breakfast sitting - she was professional, informative and wonderful with our collies, a real asset x

We visit the area very year and stay nearby so we often pop in for food. We had read poor reviews before going but had not experienced that ourselves - up to now. The re were plenty of staff and they were helpful but not overly happy and welcoming. As you would expect in a farm shop, the meat in the meals was very good but the chips let down the whole meal. They are cooked on site in their own "fish and chips shop" area and I can only imagine that they are cooking all day. We felt that we got chips from the bottom of the tray that had sat there for quite a while. When we commented upon this it was suggested that they might have had a "bad batch of potatoes" - from a farm shop?! We had planned to go back another time, as we have previously had wonderful fish from here, but we went elsewhere instead. I will visit again next year, in the hope that this was a one off, but I am not convinced!

We ate here two evenings during our stay. The food is ok bar food with a limited menu. Didnt feel the food was prepared with any love. The restaurant is a bit bright and although busy there wasn't much ambience. They could make it much more cosy. Drinks are good and for a hotel, they are not badly priced. Staff were really excellent as they were all very friendly and couldnt do enough for you.
