An outstanding county pub! The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff made for a perfect dining experience. I had the steak pie, and it was incredible—tender, flavorful beef in a rich gravy, wrapped in perfectly crisp pastry. Comfort food at its best! Five stars, highly recommended! Was served my Zoë

Walked 3.5 miles to have lunch in this lovely pub in Otterton but unfortunately the food was a Huge disappointment on this occasion. Chips were Luke warm, “large” fish had about 3 mouthfuls of fish inside a horrible batter and was similar to a frozen Birdseye fish from the supermarket. The crab sandwiches had hardly any crab and one of the sandwiches was made from end crusts.! Then seasonal veg was a bowl of cabbage with just a couple of peas thrown in. We decided to eat everything due to the fact it was getting late and we were all starving after our walk. I always believe you should politely give feedback when asked if everything was ok but on this occasion some our party were embarrassed and didn’t want to cause a fuss. So unfortunately it’s just 2 stars this time :-(

Great people and a wonderful pub and place to stay. The shower water fluctuated from warm to scalding hot and the location mark will depend entirely on your reasons for being there. But the rooms were clean and well presented. But for me, it's all about service and the people who work there were wonderful. Not obsequious, 'customer is always right' staff but genuinely nice people who try and make your stay as comfortable as possible. Stay here, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Good food. Came here for lunch on recommendation. Sat outside as the weather was glorious, plenty of tables, all with sun shades and dog friendly, with water bowls readily available. The whole pub is dog friendly, which is a plus for us. Good choice of food on lunchtime menu even though a couple of options were not available. Easy to find, the car park is not huge so parking could be difficult when very busy, the access road is relatively narrow and it’s in the centre of the village so roadside parking not really an option.

Myself, my wife and two lads stopped off here today on our way back to Ladrum Bay. The boys had the buttermilk chicken burgers (which were massive) and myself and the good lady both had the minted lamb pie. The food was easily the best meal we've had in a long time. The service was excellent (as where all the staff) and the food came out piping hot. A definite "must try" for anyone who's passing.

On a lovely Devon Sunshine-Sunday, I'm not sure there is a better gourmet pub than the King's Arms at Otterton for great fresh food, served piping hot in a comfortable and well cared for pub/dining/garden. Ample parking, friendly hosts - top mark 👍👌

Came in to try the food for an evening meal to be met by really pleasant customer service in a lovely setting and some great hearty grub with a few interesting additions on the menu too. We had a feast to try a variety of things, some to note would be Panko oysters, Wellington special at the time was exceptional and all of our desserts were spot on, particularly the house made cheesecake. On this list for a nice family meal out again one day! Of note, the kings kimchi was much too acidic however and I love kimchi.

We stopped off on our way to Ladram Bay Holiday Park and we are so glad we did. We turned up with no booking and were given a seat with no problems or grief. The pub is obviously a popular local but there was a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and hands down the best 'pub grub' we have ever had. We can 100% recommend the Roast Cauliflower and Scallops starter, the Buttermilk Chicken Burger and Scampi and Chips mains. We would happily drive an hour just to come here for the food, then drive an hour home again. A must visit!!!

Great beer choice, good food, good staff, clean, dog friendly, good atmosphere, what's not to like! Albeit, it's the only place in Otterton, but, they do step up, loved it! We certainly went in as much as possible in the 4 nights we were there. Deffo be back!!

Nice country pub in Otterton with beautiful walks around. Very dog friendly and really friendly staff. Even beavers around the river if you're lucky enough to see them. Food was average. Good coffee though! We stayed in Room 1, which was above the kitchen. Had multiple issues with noise.. Music and people singing. Not from the pub itself, the kitchen. Had to complain every day we stayed, once we did, the guys behind the bar were very attentive and quick to act on it. But said it was a regular issue!? The room itself is nice enough, and dog friendly. But I wouldn't recommend staying in this room due to the noise. We had even paid extra to stay in this bigger room.

We were staying in the area and after asking a taxi driver which was the best place for fish & chips, we were told here. On arrival (we drove there) the shop looks very modern, clean and like the pictures. There were a few people already waiting but we were quickly served, everyone seemed friendly and they appeared to have a good system in place! Considering the people before us and the selection we ordered, the wait wasn't too long. There were more people coming in and looked like collecting orders. The menu has a good variety & we went for a selection of bits to make up a meal. To feed a group of 3 with (I think!) 8 different options is was around £26 which isn't bad at all- they had a F&C meal offer which I think was about £10 also. The homemade onion rings were SO good! I'm guessing it would be a 5+ min drive to the beach from here, not sure walking distances as we were only in the area for a few days. We were happy and would go again if visiting again! Thank You :)

The best beer in Exmouth.Great service.Only downside was the loud foul mouthed bald headed guy that used the F word in every sentence which my Mrs didn't want to hear constantly. We've ran several pubs before and appreciate it is difficult to tackle. It didn't get any better when children sat with him. Will definitely be back though if not with the wife.Loved the Verdant beers.
