What an amazing place to stop and have some food. Great food welcoming atmosphere and perfect old school themed music. The front of house lady is cherpy and full of joy making it all the more welcoming will be back when next I. Sidmouth

Absolutely beautiful place, beautiful food, the atmosphere I'd beautiful, the music is amazing (proper old school musical songs)and the lady that greeted us is so lovely and really makes to the place wonderful she's so happy always singing or humming along, there's photos of legends gene Kelly etc definitely come back anytime 😊

My wife and I called for sunday roast,waited 40 minutes to get served, lady needed more front staff, the meal was the worst roast we have ever had,only one piece of roast potatoe on plate, too hard to cut, the boiled poatoes looked and tasted strange,carrots same too hard to get on fork cabbage was a wet mush, I had beef which a small portion was edible,wife had pork which was mosly fat ,looked terrible and didnt taste like roast pork. We couln't eat the meal and when I tried to discuss with lady she said "no one asked you to pay" on the way out I tried to speak to her again to offer to pay something towards her time and she snapped back and said "I am far to busy to speak to you" very rude, we also heard others complaining about the food. I cannot remember the last time,If ever I have complained about food or left a review but feel this needed to be said.

Sorry, but food was dreadful. Have never given a one star review before but quality of the food was dreadful.

Traditional Sunday roast Very generous portions Excellent value for money Plenty of tender meat, Roasties,parsnips and three perfectly cooked veg …… all served at the table with lashing a of tasty and amazing gravy The best Sunday Roast in Sidmouth Felt like it was cooked by my man……. delicious Sticky toffee pudding ….. sponge as light as a feather Creamy custard Heaven You would be advised to book as does not have any covers A very rare find Take a step back in time……. With beautify cooked and presented good old fashioned food You will NOT be disappointed ……. Unless you haven’t booked !!!!!!!

Brilliant find for Sunday lunch. Food was hot, home cooked with proper vegetables all hand served to order. A smaller establishment with eclectic decorations that suited the place. Friendly owner serving friends and older clients with occasional bookings like ours. We got the last three places today, and it was worth it. Pork, lamb, and beef roasts were served impeccably. Others around us where served vegetarian and standard menu options with lots of meat and filled plates with gravy. We will be back when next in the area.

The proprietor seems to have her favourite customers so anyone whose face doesn't fit gets poor service. The food seemed like it was warmed up from the day before. Will never go again.

What a little gem we found for lunch, mum had the grilled plaice, dad and I had the liver and bacon. All cooked to perfection, service was impeccable, it was lovely that someone comes around snd serves the vegetables to you. Music in the background was nice, makes a change to go somewhere where pride is taken, music is not overbearing and good home cooked food. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be back when in the area next 5/5 😊

Some Very Good News for Sidmouth, Osborne's Coffee Shop has reopened as Kate is now feeling better. We visited this Retro Restaurant today and our Service, Coffee and Food were excellent as usual. The varied Menu changes frequently and is shown on the Blackboard outside, it's very reasonably priced, but it's not for everyone, as it is the style of home-cooking practiced by my Mum and Grandma, and the decor features ancient Movie Stars. If you are from the Generation who like Meals with plenty of Veggies and Gravy, and Traditional Deserts with Custard, this is the place for you, think of it as Culinary Time Travel. We had Mains of Lasagne and Steak & Onion Pie. Our Deserts were Treacle Tart and Marmalade Bread & Butter Pudding (with Custard of course.) Our Meal was faultless, friendly and very filling, and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

My experience in Osbornes is out of this world, service, excellent food, atmosphere. How places should be.

So glad we found this charming little place. Wonderful ambiance, great food and cheerful competent service. Traditional English home cooked food and so nice not to be addressed as “Guys” by Your Server covered in tattoos and piercings. Everything was perfect. Stepping through the door was like entering a portal into a much better and more elegant time.

This cosy little restaurant is old-fashioned in a charming way, with a very friendly and chatty owner who will make you feel well looked after. Good food which was served quick and was well-priced.

Thought we would pop in for lunch to get out of the rain, WOW what a find, had a lovely meal, nothing was to much trouble, delicious food. Can’t wait till the next time.

Went here today ordered 2 crab sandwiches. They arrived with a generous portion of salad and some potatoes. It was lovely and very reasonably priced. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was decor is very dated.

Osbornes is a tiny little coffee shop and restaurant. They take only reservations so don't come in if you have just decided to walk in on the off chance. The young girl serving was fantastic. Very helpful, attentive, could not fault her. Unfortunately the order took 45 minutes to arrive but all 4 of us had perfectly cooked large portions with plenty of vegetables. The puddings were perfect too. The price was very reasonable for this area. We would come back again but it was such a pity the old lady was so rude!!

Ordered a tea and a coffee here. The coffee was undrinkably bitter. I complained as politely as possible but the proprietor told me that I was wrong and it's only because it was decaf. Rubbish - this was extremely bitter and either the water was too hot or the grind was too fine. To their credit, they didn't charge us, but I'd rather not have wasted my time.

Coffee shop turned wannabe restaurant. Food and staff were ok, but got the impression that it was trying to branch into the evening restaurant side too when it might have been better off sticking to being a daytime cafe. The alcohol was flat, and the food tasted like it was out of a packet, not the same level as most restaurants would do, if you get my drift. Maybe im just expecting too much from a quaint cafe/restaurant but my two pence worth anyway.
