Lovely food and reasonably priced,in this wine bar type establishment near the top of Port Isaac’s town. We had the Satay chicken as a starter, Rump steak kebabs and the shake and all dishes cooked to perfection and delicious. Really enjoyed our meal. Run by two guys who know their stuff and wish them every success. Note it’s not the biggest so advise to book in advance.

Visited this establishment for lunch today. And what a find! The freshest seafood as the title suggests, staffed by the friendliest of staff. Wife had lobster, crab and avocado salad with a Sicilian lemonade to drink. I had a lobster and crab open sandwich with a bottle of cider. We were served by a lovely lady who was the owners mother and had filled in on a busy bank holiday Monday. She was delightful. This establishment is outstanding and I can’t recommend it enough !!

If you want fresh you aren’t getting much fresher, unless you are getting up early and on the boats with these guys. I bough a pot each of freshly cooked, Mussels, Cockles and Lobster from the friendly lady and seasoned them with the available salt, pepper, vinegar and hot sauce. I then spent the next 15 mins wandering the beach and the rock pools with my 4 yr old and enjoying the tastes of the sea. Best shellfish I’ve had this year. The same shellfish are available for £88 a plate in the nearby Nathan outlaw cafe. Today I appreciated the simple pleasures with less swearing involved in the prep and for just over a tenner.

Best place to go anytime throughout the day. Perfect for Breakfast. Fab coffee. For Lunch - THE Best Crab Sandwiches to take to the beach. The team serving are Heroes! - Fantastic, Fun and Friendly (but firm and polite when they need to deal with fussy and often ridiculously entitled customers) Keep being Awesome!

If you are a massive foodie and are in Rock or a drivable distance away, you MUST visit the Karrek for dinner. It is an unbelievable hidden gem. This was our second time and it was amazing once again - the food, the stories behind the dishes, the service, the wine pairings - were all incredible. Great value for money too. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful last night in Rock :)

It's difficult to fault Nathan Outlaw's New Road. But, then, why would you want to? A very warm welcome, informal, friendly but entirely correct service, a great view and lovely food. It is worth noting that it doesn't have a car park, and I don't think this is mentioned on the website, although it does tell you on the booking confirmation. However, there is a public car park literally right next door. This was fine for lunch in early February (coincidentally, on their first day of opening in 2025), but I imagine could be a bit of a problem in the middle of summer, when an overflow car park a walk up the hill is in constant use. I went for the tasting menu. (£175, service not included), which runs to 11 courses. This was delicious, but next time (if the pocket will stand a next time), I'd go a la carte, which is only available at lunch. I like the idea of tasting menus, but towards the end I tend to find the whole process starts to get a bit laboured. For me, there were three 'stand-out' dishes: Mussel Pate. (This is the 'Mussel' dish on the menu-the menu doesn't always fully describe the dish that is coming your way, so the experience can be a bit of a voyage of discovery.) This was served with 'Cobbler Bread' , which was a new one on me, but a very good accompaniment. Then the lobster 'tart', with celeriac and apple. A lovely combination of flavours, and the lobster was truly succulent. Finally, the 68% Ashaninka chocolate dish-sublime. I chose the 'Featured Dessert' wine to go with this-a Uruguayan Alcyone, a blackcurrant coloured honeyed affair. On initial taste, I thought it would be too cloying for me, but I was assured that it would go very well with the rich, dense chocolate-and indeed it did. Regarding 'Featured' wines, I started off with the Camel Valley Special Reserve fizz, which proved a great selection-crisp and refreshing. They recommend allowing three and a half hours for the whole experience, and I reckon that would be about right in company. I was dining solo, and I was there for the best part of three. Initially, the thought of 11 courses on the tasting menu does look rather daunting. It isn't-it's lovely, but it's fair to say I didn't feel the urge for further nourishment in the evening...

I have to say I don’t post reviews very often but my wife, daughter and myself have just had a fantastic meal here in the restaurant at the St Moritz hotel. We come here every year and always have a great time. Last year we had a great meal in Cafe Rojano and the St Pedroc bistro in Padstow. We also had a terrific meal in the St Moritz hotel restaurant and it was definitely up there. So we are fussy about our food and like to spend a lot of money on food. The meal we just had in the restaurant in the St Moritz tonight was fab. I had a 3 course meal and each course was a delight and the whole meal was faultless. Not cheap but worth it and served by 3 wonderful young people. Highly recommended. I would put the quality as on a par with the meal we had in the St Pedroc last year and actually a more enjoyable meal overall.

Just TOO EXPENSIVE - £175pp for the basic menu is simply too much, the food is not worth it… nice enough and well executed but small portions and nothing to really blow your head off. We ate downstairs at a wooden bar with a nice view over the bay - it was intimate but not at all sophisticated. Service was nice but slow and timing was all over the place. Wine menu limited and the reality is you can’t drink and drive at such a remote location Ultimately this was just expensive nicely done food. I would not return at this price-point.

Lunch on terrace, beautiful summer day.. maybe the first, but super. Great quality and excellent service. Hake with curry sauce, scallops with tomato/onion salad and new potatoes, burger, cobb salad. Camel valley Bacchus. Desserts. Can’t fault and good value for Rock.
