The attitude of the older woman that works at McDonald’s, brought my order out I asked for another bbq sauce she had an attitude she said well I didn’t pack it so what ever is in there is in there, I said that’s fine but I would like an extra one please as I was saying that she just walked away huffing and puffing then came out with the wrong sauce. No acknowledgement no smile, when ever u have seen her she always looks like she never wants to be there, never smiles and never pleasant when you do interact with her. Terrible customer service! First time I’ve experienced that there.
My husband loves fudge and had read about Roly's fudge. We saw the store while we was visiting Truro so of course we had to give it a try.
I can't understand why any retail store in this day and age would limit their customers to what they buy? Purchased a gift box and was told we could only have 3 flavours. Not an ideal business model at all. Infact none of the 3 flavours we chose was nice. On that basis we will not purchase Roly's fudge again.
I have been to The Oxford many times and it never disappoints. The landlady is very nice and friendly and so are the regulars. Every time I've gone in here I've had a laugh. Everyone seems to talk to each other, even if they don't really know you, which I like. It is decorated nice and toilets are always clean. They have a fire inside which is very cosy in winter. Overall, lovely, warm and friendly pub.
We went to this restaurant on Christmas eve with family.
the restaurant wasn't overly busy, our table of 6 and one other large table.
The food was very mixed in our opinion, some of the food was nice some of it really bad.
The waitress was very unprofessional, 2 of us ordered the pork ribeye, both were extremely tough, as well as the vegetables which were almost raw. one of the steaks in particular was inedible, my family member couldn't even cut through as it was mostly gristle. She mentioned it to the waitress and all she said was "I'll go and tell him, and that was it. No feedback came, not even a free dessert, and it was charged in full on the bill.
We were told that the restaurant was closing at 9.30pm, but at 9pm, they turned the background music off (which was not very Christmassy anyway) and when we got our bill at 9.20pm the waitress just stood right behind us as we were discussing who was paying for what, she really couldn't have been more impatient and really wanted us to leave, in fact she rushed us though every aspect of the meal.
Very disappointed indeed, which really ruined a Christmas family get together.
Spent £35 on two sandwiches and two coffees, asked for some vinegar and told don't have any, I pointed out there was a shelf full!but told I would have to buy a bottle if I wanted some,, never again!!
Called in one Friday evening, table of 8 had just ordered, so told it might be a long wait for our order, 1hr 10 minutes later we got ours, not going to bother with review of the food, but we think they went to the local chip shop for my wives scampi !!!!
Went for afternoon tea with my family . Have been before and this time unfortunately was a bit disappointed. No sandwich’s were given instead had a little bacon tart ( only 1 for the two of us ) a cheese ball etc . Would have been better with sandwich’s . Scones were lovely . View absolutely wonderful from the windows . Staff of Halo , AL ( first day ) and the waitress were really pleasant and helpful . Please change it back to sandwiches . Unfortunately feel it certainly wasn’t worth £35 .
We used the nearby car park but putting coins in the machine (some were being rejected) while suffering pelting rain was most unpleasant and it was equally irritating that the machine did not give change. We would have been happy to return to the cafe during our stay in the area but the opportunity never arose. The beach itself was rocky and uninspiring (perhaps the weather put us off too).
Waited 20 mins queuing to place order behind only 2 others. Asked for receipt when we were shocked at cost of of £27 for 2 bacon baps and chips and 3 teas. It turns out the 2 small bowls of chips were £12 which i have never paid anywhere not even in London. This is second time we have had a bad experience here and won't be returning to for a third.
