Awful don’t waste your money here just go pancakes were not cooked properly need actual chefs and not untrained people

Im so annoyed I chose here to eat; I was really hungry and went in for a cooked breakfast which was around £10 and included a cup of tea. The tea arrived teabag in a cup style but after I had taken the tea bag out and added the milk the cup was still only half full. I am not being pernickity, it was three mouthfuls at most and looked pitiful in the half empty cup. It sounded like the waitress may have been new but even so, surely a cup of tea bigger than an espresso shot is just common sense? The breakfast arrived which the menu said came with toast and 2x bacon. It was NOT toast, it was fried bread which is NOT the same thing, I had been looking forward to it as I love to dip hot buttered toast into the eggs but this was bread coated in fat then fried which I never would have ordered. Instead of the 2 x bacon the plate arrived with bacon joint that had been carved into thick pieces and then put in a pile on the plate. If the menu says 2 x bacon I think its reasonable to think they mean bacon rashers- a pile of bacon joint is a completely different texture and it should be described as such on the menu. The sausage had a nice flavour but it was more of a handmade sausage meat patty shaped into a rectangle, because of this it didnt have the crack of the skin that a regular cooked sausage would have and together with the hogs pudding and black pudding it was all a bit too much of the same soft texture and flavours. I dont know what happened to the eggs, the plate looked really unattractive as there was no yellow yolk on display at all, I think the eggs had been flipped and cooked yolk side down and one was definitely served upside down on the plate; I was just presented with two dirty white circles that looked really unappetising. Overall I was really disappointed and really annoyed I had to pay £10 for something that I didnt even finish. I don’t understand what is wrong with a traditional Cornish breakfast, if something isnt broken, it doesnt need fixing; it just seems like an unnecessary attempt to go artisan and up their USP when simply using good quality local ingredients is all it needs. At the very least the chef needs to deliver what is actually written on the menu.

Pleasant place to visit, waffles were nice (although could have been slightly warmer). The toastie was yummy - although a choice of brown/white bread would have been preferred. Was on the pricey side and they automatically added 10% service charge…

Dreadful visit today. Pancakes uncooked lumps of dough, scrambled egg on toast at £6.75 overcooked and ungenerous. Charged 45p a squeeze for so say maple syrup!! Child’s milkshake £4.50

I've now been in a few times and the food just on getting better. Staff are lovely and there coffee amazing best in town. They seem to alway want to go the extra mile. They help me withy wheelchair and always talk to me. I've lived in heslton for 20 years and they are the nicest place around.
