The best restaurants in Chiltern Woods South Oxfordshire South East

In my opinion it’s the best pub in the area! Why? Real old fashion friendly atmosphere-great beer-real history-best location-family run…..if you haven’t been you’re missing a treat.

The Farm Kitchen has just reopened after the Christmas break. We have eaten here many times , breakfast - lunch - evening meals and special evening events . The food is fresh and tasty and the staff are lovely. Full English breakfast is a hit with the family and not usually being a fan of Pizza - their handmade bolognaise pizza was amazing. Friday Fish and chips - yum. You can take you dog with you, just need to sit in the conservatory- Sunday lunch - bookings are recommended. There is a garden area with various seating, including some undercover. It’s lovely - serves a range of refreshments- coffee, tea, alcohol…. See you there

Our first time at the Maltsters Arms in recent years but certainly not the first time we have experienced Rich’s renowned winning Sunday roasts - and therefore not our last. As always Sam is calmly in control of ‘front of house’ with a warm welcome. The pub looked great, clean warm and welcoming! Highly Recommended. We will see you.

Poor service and poor food. Has gone downhill to what we’ve had before. Menu choice was very poor and had to choose the only dish I liked. The fried Brie wedges to start had no Brie in them as they had been over fried. Main course was cold and £15 for a cheese board, which only had 3 pieces of small cheese on and a few Jacob’s crackers was over priced. The service was poor and we were the only ones eating there. This used to be a great pub for food but feel it is now just overpriced and has an easy boring menu choice.

Perfect little friendly shop , I actually thought oh I’m really hungry I wonder if thier is breakfast is any good , well what a nice surprise that was , bang on with that 9 out of ten for that one , clean, cooked perfect , presentation spot on , if I had one very slight niggle and it is slight , sausages aret all that , I normally go to buddies cafe by the station in henley and thier bangers are the best I’ve ever had , and I know the get theirs from A&b butchers in Maidenhead , they are catering butchers wholesalers , or it would be 10 out of 10 , just a tip for you , and thank you for the great service and fair price for a top notch breakfast

My 2nd visit, & it did not disappoint! Excellent lunch & amazing presentation! Lovely atmosphere & super friendly staff. Wheelchair access makes this our favourite luncheon go to spot! Thank you The Golden Ball, we will be back soon!

Fabulous 5 star lunch from the special midweek lunch menu. Delicious dishes, friendly and attentive service and a wonderful relaxing ambiance. A real gem.

Fantastic traditional English pub...restaurant set on a quiet road in the centre of the chilterns on 10th December I took my family, my siblings and partners for a get together Christmas lunch. We were given a secluded almost private room with a dedicated waitress plus others helped. The food was fresh hot and delicious, the staff there are amazing so fruendly, attentive and polite, quite like home from home. Lou the landlady ably aided by Poppy her daughter run a tight friendly ship all geared towards the customers needs. All of us had traditional Christmas fayre, drop of wine. It was nice and warm we all appreciated at our age, I am 74 the baby there is two years between the 5 of us it was comfortable. No hesitation in recommending it.
