Such lovely food yet the service let you down. The lamb was cooked well and fell apart. Naan bread thin, crispy and tasty. Great flavours all round, Sadly we seemed to have been overlooked during our dining. We were offered one drink in the 1 hour and 45 minutes we sat in the restaurant. We also didn’t receive the chef’s complimentary amuse bouches, despite seeing other tables having them. We weren’t offered dessert or coffees either. Upon payment of the bill we did mention the service to the waiter, he said they were understaffed. Such a shame!

Great pub. Lovely food. Really friendly people. Recommended, especially the Sunday roast 😋 Be aware they only serve on Sundays till 4.30 and close at 8pm (although that might be because it's out of season, not sure about summer).

Came on a Saturday night after spending Friday night at the Barry white tribute act. Restaurant was very quiet, staff hover about until there are issues then they disappear! Only two other groups in and it had an awkward atmosphere. Came for my mums birthday and we thought we’d go for a nice meal, My mum ordered plaice which had tiny bones in every mouthful, she ended up leaving most of it. The menu said it come with jersey royal potatoes but it was instead served with a cheaper alternative (see pic). The vegetable sides came out after we’d almost finished our mains which was a shame as they were nice. The mineral waters had clearly been tampered with (looked old and arrived with screw tap open and put back on tight) - tasted distinctly like tap water. Olives and bread were good - as was my chicken (missing the jus). We spoke to our waitress about it all and she said ‘ok yes we could have filleted the fish for you sorry’. We asked for the bill which instead of being discounted due to all the problems had a 12.5% service charge added - only two of us dining, we didn’t order starters or desserts and had one small glass of wine each - came to just under £100. It was an extremely expensive meal and my mum didn’t want me to complain as she just wanted to leave - we were left very disappointed. We have friends coming to the hotel for a weekend away and we’ve advised them to steer clear - advise you the same! We would recommend to go into Hythe and try anywhere else but here

We have been to this restaurant a few times for Sunday Lunch and we always enjoy it. The staff are amazing and could not be more helpful. We found the lunch to be very good and reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. The staff even arranged for a take out Sunday lunch for a member of the family who wasn't well enough to attend.

A group of 4 of us visited. I Was the only one drinking lager, others had shorts. When I got my beer I was a little amazed that the bubbles were going from top to bottom???? and very cloudy lager. Normally bubbles from the bottom upwards do you think?? Anyway, made my way to bar to discuss this issue only to be told I was wrong and can't get a refund or replacement 🤔 This was my first pint of the day before you ask and last drink here

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the army cookhouse, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The food was not only delicious but also served with utmost precision. The variety of options catered to all tastes, and the chefs clearly take pride in their work. The cleanliness and organization were top-notch, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The service was impeccable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I can confidently give this army cookhouse a 5-star review, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
