A slightly out of the way restaurant that you have to work a bit to find but wow is it worth it! A slightly quirky restaurant that really gets the basics right. Excellent Nan bread, delicious main meals that really are different from the standard offerings at most curry restaurants and the best onion bhajis I’ve ever had. Also a very nice owner who made a point of asking about our meal and you get the sense that he really wants to improve and innovate. All I can say is that both he and the restaurant are top drawer and deserve to be very successful.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Coppers, where the juicy and perfectly cooked Rajasthani Lamb stood out. The Ginger and Coriander Naan and crispy poppadoms complemented the meal beautifully. I ordered the tandoori chicken thighs and had a few bites before turning the meat over and seeing that it was semi-raw. Not even pink and undercooked but very nearly raw. Obviously we sent it back, but it did taint the experience as I was worried about potential food poisoning. The Dahl was nice but service was also pretty slow unfortunately, so I'd bear all this in mind if you are considering this restaurant. The live piano was also a lovely touch and overall the quality seemed good, so it was a shame about the chicken.

We visited on Friday expecting the wonderful food and service we've had on previous occasions last year. Unfortunately, the veggie samosa was still frozen in the middle and our mains were lukewarm. The bottle of sparkling water we ordered arrived frozen solid! When we complained and sent our food back the young lad who was serving us couldn't apologise enough and looked like he might start crying.. poor guy I felt sorry for him and said it's not your fault but would like to hear from the chef in the kitchen. The waiter said something about no staff or owners or chef didn't turn up or something.. it was difficult to understand him mumbling with his face in his hands. In the end, we didn't get charged for mains and he gave us a bottle of red wine. It's a terrible shame as we've had wonderful meals and family occasions there over the last couple of years. Sadly we won't be returning.

Such a shame! Ate in Coppers when the new owners took over and thought the food was lovely. Tonight, unfortunately, we had a different experience. No draft lager and not all advertised bottles available, long wait for main, food tepid having to send the rice and naan back (meal then cold), waiting staff apologetic but no management available to discuss issues with. With lots of choices available of Indian/Nepalese in Hythe, won't be going back to Coppers.

This has recently been re-launched with a quiet and modern, intelligent style. Tables are nicely spaced in a large circular room allowing peaceful dining with no crowding. Most importantly of all, the food was simply amazing. I am highly experienced with Indian food and this was no ordinary Anglo-Indian fare. There were many authentic dishes available, and we both tried something we didn’t recognise, and I can say simply that I have rarely had better Indian food anywhere. Truly outstanding. Add to this an excellent family-led service and reasonable prices, and I must conclude that, if you’re in the area, don’t miss it!

Food was delicious. Unfortunately our reservation coincided with that of a large group of about 30 noisy and increasingly drunken men. As they had all the menus, we had to wait 20 mins until they had finished ordering to order our drinks and food. And the two wait staff were overwhelmed by this crowd, so our service was slow. We advised not to host other diners when they have a large group reservation.

I visited Coppers with my daughter and it was a delightful experience from the beginning to the end. The bright and bold colours in the dining area, the beautiful flower wall and the well placed music really elevated our dining experience: this is undoubtedly a culinary experience for all of the senses! We opted to have the Meerut samosa chaat as our starter and the flavours were layered, authentic and delicious. The attention to detail from the staff in then bringing out our mains was also duly noted. We then had the Makhani chooze, peas jeera pulao and naan. Another tremendous party for the taste buds with an exquisite combination of flavours: all rightly memorable and enjoyable. The dessert we chose was Gulab Jamun and Ice Cream and this also hit the mark. The ambience in the restaurant was really lovely and the service was exceptional. We live far away from Coppers but this is truly a place worth driving to. Add Hythe on your visit list - purely for the benefit of enjoying Coppers - you won’t regret it! We will definitely be back.

My first visit and it was absolutely stunning. The food was hot and tasted amazing with equal measure of ingredients as one didn't over power another. I was told it was Authentic Indian food and it definitely didn't disappoint as very different from your average Indian restaurant. I spent around £40 and didn't leave hungry which was a very good sign for me. I had king prawn dishes and so much taste. I'm looking forward to visiting again and having a look at the newer options on the menu as the owners refine it. Atmosphere was great live singer but you could still talk with out shouting so a plus for me. Spacious and airy so you're not sitting on top of each other again a big plus for me. Service was great as its all cooked fresh the timing of the courses too was good and didn't seem excessive. As it's cooked fresh I honestly would not have minded a little wait but again not a long wait at all. Chatted to the new owners telling me all about the new dishes they want to add to the menu so I'm looking forward to trying them over time. Over all a great evening and I'm still smiling. Thank you

Booked due to the amazing reputation this place has/had. Turns out it is under new ownership. The food here is a little different to your usual curry place. I'd say, more authentic and less anglicised maybe? Every dish was tasty, and the meat was good quality. Portions sizes were more than adequate. The staff were great. The owner (I think) spent time talking to us about the different dishes, and even bought some extras over between courses. Items he was trialling and hadn't quite made it to the menu yet. Massala Chai to end was really good. It was a Friday evening, and the place was really, really quiet, which is a shame and I hope business picks up for the owners.

We had an absolutely outstanding meal at Coppers. The menu is somewhat different to the usual Indian restaurant so we were intrigued. OH started with Katori Chaat - which turned out to be a cold starter. If he’d realised that in advance, he probably wouldn’t have ordered it - but that first mouthful and he was absolutely bowled over. Stunning starter. I had the Old Delhi aloo tikki chaat, which was warm and well-spiced and really, really tasty. Mains of chicken curry and Dalcga gosht were fabulous, accompanied by Basmati rice and apricot and ginger naan. Sound weird? Tasted divine; a hint of sweetness in the mouth that perfectly accompanied the wonderful spices. We did have the poppadums at the beginning - and even those were different…. Pieces of large poppadum along with small fluffy individual ones, served with mouth watering - and slightly differently spiced - condiments. Yum. Good range of drinks. Great service - with a special shout out to the young man who was working only his second shift and was spot on in all that he did. Would we go again? Definitely.

Have eaten here before a year or so ago, and the standard of food has not dropped one bit! It is not your usual curry house in that its very quirky, big hall type place with funky decor and pictures with Blues music playing instead of the traditional style indian music - at one point a man jumped on the piano and played beautifully for an hour it was awesome evening wth my wife, Incredible food and lovely staff. If it's your first time going here you could think you're in the wrong place when you turn up and that its big and empty especially if you go early but don't DONT turn around as you will miss out on one hell of a curry end off. I bumped into a couple outside who were in there also and we were talking and laughing as they did not know what to expect when they first turned up but said the same awesome food and lovely evening and wil be back as will we.

When we got the menu I was lost, nothing that you expect from a ‘British’ Indian restaurant. The owner talked us through the dishes and we ended up with a more traditional Indian experience, I would highly recommend a visit

Went based on a recommendation - not your typical Indian or Asian restaurant for sure - visually an interesting layout and ambience. The pianist was a turn up and very good and the staff were very attentive, answered all questions and service was really good. Compared to other restaurants of late it was good value for sure especially the lovely Shiraz they served. The food is different for sure especially in look and style and the small complimentary tasters in between courses a really nice touch. Our starters were great, but our lamb mains were a bit thick and like a hearty stew rather than an attack on the senses or pallet. Would recommend though and would return

If you like a hot hot curry this is the place to go, sadly I don’t and I couldn’t get anything mild at all. I found the place very dated needs a complete refurbishment , there were cobwebs in the light above my table . I won’t be back because I didn’t like the fact I couldn’t get anything mild and it looked a bit dirty to me . As for the staff I don’t think they were in the slightest bit interested in their customers. Wont be back.

We enjoyed a really delicious meal, definitely a cut above your traditional Indian restaurant. The menu is really interesting with lots of choice and unusual dishes using fresh ingredients sourced locally. Great service and atmosphere, with contemporary decor. Would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely staff, very attentive. Food lovely and spicy, less choice for fussy eaters but my 9 year old was happy with the recommended mild dish. The entrance is unassuming but just head up the stairs to the restaurant. The live piano was an added highlight.

Had my birthday meal here recently and really enjoyed the food (quite spicy). Not a lot of choice for fussy eaters like my 9 yr old but she managed with the recommended mild dish. All accompaniments were cooked beautiful and tasted amazing. Well worth a visit and another highlight was the live piano playing. When you walk in the doors, just head up the stairs as I wasn't quite sure we were in the right place as it was so quiet at first.

Welcoming and friendly restaurant with delicious Indian food. Table arrangements is really good and decoration is pleasant. They had live music with someone playing the piano on Saturday night. Would visit again.

We ordered at 4, the food came at 5.45, we only ordered a korma rice and a bread. The korma tasted like they ran out of sauce and instead of scraping the pot, they added warm water and swished it about then chucked 6 cubes of chicken in it and sent it our way. I would never order again based on the standard of food we received tonight. Even my 3 yr old said mama I can’t taste anything that I’m eating . 1/10 do not recommend

It is open all day, I am disabled and have a scooter, on a nice day, I sit at the front have a latte and breakfast muffin, people watching, it's great, also later in the day they have a beautiful garden area accessible where it's nice to eat delicious Thai food prepared by Noy, a nice place to enjoy life.

Great quality of food and portion sizes. Lovely staff and a good selection of dishes that you don't see in other restaurants. A*
