Wonderful! Could Not Be More Accommodating This was our second time to Annapurna, after an evening visit a few months ago. On both occasions the foot was delicious and reasonably priced. However, the best thing about the restaurant is the owner. We had called to book for a friend's birthday and the owner took the booking for Sunday lunch time. We only realised later that the restaurant isn't usually open until 4pm. The owner had opened the restaurant just for us. What a star! We arrived early with balloons and cake and he was there to meet us. Whilst there, he couldn't do enough for us. (The only negative was when I broke one of his champagne glasses. Sorry!) We will definitely be back again to enjoy this tucked away little gem.

Every time I crave a good chowmein, this is the place I have to be. All the way from London to Folkestone.

I was absolutely disappointed with the service and attitude. We have invested time and effort to celebrate our daughter’s birthday but have received disgraceful, disrespectful behaviour towards our guests. Customers and reviews spoil this restaurant!!!

Very narrow space but moves way back into the depths with multiple rooms. The staff are friendly and the service prompt. The food was absolutely delicious. The menu endless, so you could go back at least 5 times and would still only test a fraction of what they make. Looking forward to going back :)

Best dining out experience we have had in years! At this restaurant we had great service, tasty authentic food and at a good price. The staff helped us order and choose the best dishes for our family. It was exciting to try new dishes and experience authentic Nepalese food and service. Can’t wait to go back!

Came in for my mother in laws birthday as she really fancied having Nepalese for dinner. We got everything to share between us so we could try as much as possible. We had spicy king prawn, pork momo, and Pani Puri for our starters. The batter on the king prawn was so delicious and morish. I am particularly fond of momo and the dumplings were excellent here. I would recommend momo to anyone that's not had it before. I had not had Pani Puri before, so the waitress showed us how to do it, very different to what we are used to doing with food so it's quite fun to assemble it all. The thali was really nice with the curry and daal served with rice. Normally this would be for one person, but as we had shared starters too we shared this. We also split a prawn chow mein. This was different from a chow mein you would have in a Chinese restaurant, and has more depth of flavour. What was really good was that they asked how spicy you like the food. As my partner doesn't do well with spice, although she likes it, we only had a low spice level. The Gurkha beer was really nice too. Overall I would recommend coming here to try something different and the price was very fair too!

Love it here. The staff are wonderful and always happy to make recommendations which gives me the chance to try new things each time!

It was really good experience. Its our second time visiting this restaurant and i will tell people that its really a good restaurant in folkestone area. Authentic chaat dishesh, nepalese dishes especially we tried chowmein must try. Also we tried try e mommos is anyone like trying momos its worth trying. Also honestly the food is cheap and i will surely give a 5 star.

It was the first time we visited Annapurna. As true lovers of Nepalese food we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely amazing. We both shared the fried chicken momos and chilli pork momos. For main we both ordered the lamb thali. Service, ambience and food were spot on. Sad that the meal is over and we can’t wait to return. Make sure you book in advance because a lot of groups being turned away. Best meal for a long time.

The place was warm and we enjoyed studying the menu which had a wide range of starters, mains and specialty dishes. I had Lamb Thali which is much larger than it looks in the picture and ribs for starter. The spicy ribs were amazing. The main, beautifully prepared, tasted nice and hot (they ask how hot you would like) but, without the burning making it a really excellent meal. My friends had the mixed meat starter, and loved it. I stole some of their starter too. They really care about the food, it's genuine Nepalese food prepared as would be in Nepal and they take pride in their food and service. We had a wonderful evening which made what was a wonderful day.

Exceptional food with great service. The standard of food is very hard to beat, the flavours are incredible, highly recommend.

Fantastic food, served by the loveliest people.

I could write paragraphs about the meal I had here last night (and I will), but first the summary: so good! I'd been on a long hike on the North Downs Way so I admit the resulting hunger might have contributed to my appreciation, but everything I ordered was genuinely excellent. The lamb thali was the centrepiece, including a seriously tasty black daal that I chose to scoop up with a generous side portion of aloo paratha. And I couldn't resist having a plate of steamed pork momo dumplings all to myself, too. No shame, no regrets! Well, one regret: the photographs I took are definitely not good enough to do the food justice, so I've not included them here. Dim restaurant lighting and cheap smartphones do not mix. I see a few previous reviewers have described the food as oily, and I can understand that - my aloo paratha in particular was quite oil-heavy from the frying process, and while that's exactly what I wanted and needed after an active day, it probably wouldn't be to everyone's taste. But basically I'd say if you go into your meal expecting it to be a little on the heavier side because of that, the flavours and textures of the dishes more than make up for that. I've no idea when I'll be back in Folkestone, but I hope it'll involve another meal here - tasty food at very reasonable prices.

Absolutely outstanding food; authentic, fresh and delicious. The staff were a delight, very friendly and welcoming, full of smiles. I can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

Superb food and great choice. Food cooked to your spice level and plenty of it. Very busy restaurant so book it and book early.

So I wanted to share my review regarding recent visit. The service is really bad. Staff is rude. They don’t greet customers. Food is nice and tasty. The main problem was their high 12.5% service charge. I asked waiter to remove service charges from my bill because it is legal to remove it. I know that really well because I work in restaurants, but the waiter rudely replied that I know it’s annoying but you have to pay. I asked reason for that but he didn’t respond to that !!!! It is really against the LAW. if customer is not satisfied with the service then they have a right to remove the service charge from the bill. I hope they notice this review and take some serious action regarding this !

The food was excellent and the people very welcoming. Don’t hesitate !!!! We tried the non vegetarian dish for two and even the tofu was the best tofu ever. We finished the meal with the homemade mango ice cream. Delicious!

The food was quite a let down as everything we ordered was extremely greasy, from the momos, allo paratha to the chicken chowmin. Have never tried any Nepalanese food that oily! Not sure why it's been given a higher rating! Was disappointed! Even got a bit of indigestion! However, the service was good & quick and waiters were cordial. One star extra is for the service btw.

All food was very oily whatever we ordered, it was too unhealthy for me. I tried a lot of Nepalese restaurants in London and I was expecting something similar but I am really unhappy with it.

Visited with my wife and friend on Friday evening. We asked the waiter to recommend a selection of dishes for us as my friend had been here last month with his daughter and grandson and they left the choice to the staff We had a selection of starters which were delicious and the main meal was a lovely rice ,a lamb curry and a chicken curry. The staff were excellent, friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes,special mention for Tej who we had a nice chat with at the end of our visit Would strongly recommend a visit if you haven't been.!

Fantastic food and very reasonably priced, lovely friendly smiley service, have never seen so many vegan dishes in any restaurant before, I love that I was asked how spicy/hot i would like my food. And to top all that they sell a great Melbec 🍷. So will definitely be going back. Thank you.

Prawn curry Thali was delicious and excellent value for money with some chicken and vegan Momo's to start. The Gurkha beer is very refreshing. Really friendly staff! My new favourite restaurant in Folkestone

Arrived on a Friday evening without a reservation. Place was fully booked but the staff made room on a small table just for us. Food was amazing! Restaurant owner guided us through the menu with recommendations including how to eat the puff ball things! They were amazing! I cannot fault any aspect of our visit! Will definitely be back - but remember to book on a weekend!! Thankyou for your hospitality!

My friend says that this place ruined food for him because it was so good. Amazing vegan/vegetarian options - everything on the vegetarian except for one item is vegan. The service takes a bit longer than I would usually expect, but I think it's well worth it as they clearly take their time mastering the dish. Love it 5 stars big up.

Not worth the hype - dirty, slow and masala! Day trip from London - we were really looking forward to try out this place after seeing it on Fabulous Feast programme. We were served 2 underage boys - their dirty fingers was on our food and drink as he served. On top of that, service is chaotic and inflexible, the same boy refused to change table when we were forced to be seated by a group of utterly drunk and loud men when they were other tables. Everything we tried smelled like uncooked masala and cumin powder. People who are raving about this place clearly haven‘t tried better Nepalese. Would not recommend!

Wow! We’re novices when it comes to Nepalese food, but thought we’d try it after recommendations from some Gurkhas. We are not disappointed, our new favourite takeaway!

Absolutely amazing place, highly recommend! Very vegan friendly as well, with dishes marked clearly on the menu (and although there aren't too many in comparison to the non-vegan ones, I felt very included and not like I was lacking for choice). The portions were absolutely massive, especially considering the price - there were 4 of us, and we ordered 2 starters for 2, as well as either a thali meal or two dishes each, and we really could've done without any starters (though they were absolutely delicious)! We had plenty of leftovers, and were given takeaway containers upon request. Pictured are (left to right): pork curry, egg fried rice, vegan chow mein, vegan fried momos. My mum and her partner also order the pork and lamb thali, respectively. Everything was amazing, but I personally would really recommend the Aloo Dum. You can select the spice level of almost everything. The service was also wonderful, with very attentive and friendly staff. It was very quiet when we went there (late Thursday afternoon), and we didn't have to wait at all. It was very clean (the toilets and main areas), and the staff came and offered to change our cutlery/dishes after we'd finished our starters.

WOW! Food was so so good. We stumbled across this restaurant and so please we did. Had one of the best curries ever here. The portion size is really good and service was spot on. Definitely worth a visit

We'd been meaning to go for ages as it gets great reviews and is always showing an old Giles Coren (the Times food critic) review. We thought we were well travelled food-wise but there were quite a few dishes we hadn't seen or tried. We did try them and some were very good, others less so. Will be back for another go for sure.

Literally the best and so cheap

Annapurna has been one of my favourite restaurants in Folkestone for many years. This Easter (2024) I asked them to cater for a party of 50 people away from the restaurant. They provided a brilliant buffet, which all my guests enjoyed. So many people commented on the lovely food and we applauded the staff after dinner. The food at this restaurant has always been of a really high standard. If you go, you must try their Momo's.

We had a lovely meal while we stayed in Folkestone overnight. Staff were friendly and helpful on suggestions of selecting our food. Would recommend.

been here before and will happily go back again, we was in a group of 14 and we all had a good time with great food, well cooked and full of flavour. Hope to go back soon

Usual great meal at Annapurna , had a Mother’s Day meal and after many visits as a couple we took our family who all loved the menu and food at Kent’s top Nepalese restaurant

Had a business meeting here either a group of 9 local businesses, different to your usual curry house, fantastic service, wonderful fresh dishes and we will be back in the near future. Very reasonably priced too. We have to say loved the translation of “least recommended” in fact it made us order and was delicious. Apologies our photos are not to the usual standard.

I've travelled across Nepal and this is food really brought back some great memories, it is EXERLENT and very very delicious and typical of the food you get in Nepal itself... Felt like I was back in Kathmandu. You must must try the Momo, as good as any I had in Nepal.

Excellent vegan thali that comes with a wide range of different interesting and tasty dishes, and at a good price. The vegan paanipuri was great too. Very friendly staff. The restaurant itself is quite lofi but in a way I find charming and welcoming. My second time visiting after loving it last time I was in Folkestone two years ago and I'll definitely be back again.

We were s group of 5 adults. Booking was easy and our table was ready for us when we got there. The staff were welcoming and helpful as some of us hadn't eaten there before. The food arrived quickly and hot. Amazing. If i had room I would have seconds.

First time for us tonight group of 5. The food was really great, fresh, hot and they cater for all spice level requirements. Service very good. And just wasn't expensive, £85 for a group of 5. Considering what we had, that's very good. Recommended.

Not very nice for a family of 7 to turn up on Boxing Day to find a note in the window saying the restaurant will be closed for several days when a booking had been made over a month in advance! There was no contact to inform us. Very unprofessional and disappointing.

From the outside it may not look like much, but the food served from this restaurant is spot on. Cooked to a spice of your choice, everything is presented very well & tastes amazing! The team here are welcoming & appreciative of your custom. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Friendly service and good quality authentic food.

A more traditional Nepalese restaurant you won’t find locally. We were seated quickly and given our menus and some time to choose our drinks. Then the important part, choosing the food. We chose momos for starters and were told there would be a 20 minute wait as they were freshly prepared. It was just under 20 minutes and the wait was so worth it, absolutely delicious! We all followed this with a traditional Nepalese curry, be it lamb, pork or chicken. Again there was no disappointment, the taste was amazing. We all had a fantastic evening and will be going again. Thanks to the owner and his staff 🙏🏼

Perfect once again!! Went as a couple and the food did not disappoint again!! Food portions were perfect for us, we were quite hungry before we arrived. Our waiter Rosit was also brilliant and treated us with respect .

We visited Annapurna once again and the quality of food was amazing as usual. The wait time was perfect and the food portion was absolutely brilliant for us. Our waiter Nubasha was so kind to us both. We will definitely visit again some time soon!!

There is not much to say really other than the food is fantastic, the service is good and the staff are helpful in guiding you through the menu. Well worth a visit.

First time I’ve tried Nepalese food, and I’ve really enjoyed it. Lovely food and friendly atmosphere. Definitely coming back again.

The decor is not what I am used to but the food was amazing, service was excellent and a nice cold bottle of Gurkha beer. I opted for 7/10 spice level which was perfect for me but if you like some real heat, you’ll probably need an 8 or 9.

It's a couple of weeks since our visit I have waited until now to review as if I'd done it immediately it would have been a lot harsher. I had booked and assumed there would be a table ready or a very short wait. I gave my name and was asked to wait, the couple in front of us hadn't booked and were lead off after a few mins. Eventually someone else came and asked if we'd booked! I said yes and gave my name again, we were lead through the restaurant and garden area to what was a glorified outbuilding, we've eaten here previously but always in the main restaurant, it was awful, no atmosphere at all, I kept my jacket on all evening as it wasn't very warm. As for the service and food I was shocked at how different it was to previous visits. Drinks orders taken promptly but a long wait for them to arrive, when we asked later on for more drinks they took so long we had to ask if we'd been forgotten, another 10 mins and they finally turned up. The menu seems to have changed, new things added and others removed, not a problem. What the main issue was 2 of our party ordered lamb curry which was inedible, chewy and fatty, I did try a piece myself and it was truly bad. The pieces of meat were cubed and looked as if they'd come in a bag from Iceland! We didn't receive our starters together, as a result some of us had finished before one of our group got his. I was so disappointed as one of our group hadn't been before and we'd said how great the restaurant was. Unfortunately we have probably paid our last visit, the food along with being stuck in an outhouse lead to a very disappointing evening.

This restaurant is superb. The food was delicious and good value for money. The staff were friendly and attentive. We booked this restaurant based on the excellent reviews and we were not disappointed. Highly recommend.

Five star :) and I could actually end here, but I will add a few details. each dish is a feast for both the eyes and the body! We ate here for the second time and will return at the next opportunity. Taste, service, prices! and once again the taste! Good draft beer and a simple Malbec for £22... what more do you need to be happy... I know, more free time to enjoy this place... Delicious.... Only one photo:( Normally would do a few, but couldn't resist to start eat. When I wanted to take a photo was too late as all the food was gone:) And very important. If someone gave this place one or two stars, it's either not their cuisine or they're just a snob.

Unbelievable food, just delicious incredible amazing in every mouthful. Great value too, would highly recommend if ever in or around Folkestone.

First time visit. The service was superb, very friendly and informative about the menu. That said we didn’t order the best choices for the mains, particularly for one vegetarian guest, but the starters were superb, two mixed plates. Would go again to try other things. It’s authentic and was busy which is good to see

Little disappointing. Not the same as sitting in the restaurant. Over the top amounts of rice and Dahl and no bread. Won’t order takeaway again.

Delicious food, great selection and quality. Delivery took about an hour but recognise they’re busy on a Friday night. £5 delivery charge was a bit steep for how close we are to the restaurant but I guess we’re paying for the convenience.

I hadn't tried momos before moving to Folkestone, but I'm obsessed with the chilli momos, Annapurna has been a favourite restaurant for the 3 years since we were recommended the place by friends. In that time, the food has been consistently fantastic. The restaurant it's self has an extremely charming family run vibe. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I've been to large parties in the restaurant and recently put in a large food order to cater for a 30th birthday party, the food is good value for money anyway, but when catering for large groups, the value is unbelievable. For both dining in and taking away, this is a phenomenal place, and I feel lucky to have this restaurant in Folkestone
