We are regular of the restaurant as it’s close to us. We have never had a bad meal, the food is always of the same high standard. I would highly recommend it. The owners and all staff are lovely making the experience 10 out of 10 each time.

One of the best surprise I had for a very long time. Every detail was exquisite, quality of the food is first class, I love the momos, passion of the team made our night amazing. Amazing time, the flavors were absolutely stunning ! We booked the place for around 50 people and we were treated like royalty. The waiters were simply pure kindness. The French Indian riders strongly recommend the place.

Tonight I visited the Gurkha Palace with my Australian family,I have visited many times over the years . However tonight there was a large party in,very loud and noisy.It was very uncomfortable. I don’t think it fair to expect costumes to sit and enjoy the meal. The restaurant should close to the public,if having a large party in. We almost walked out but didn’t have any where else to eat.tomorrow my Australian family go home.A very unpleasant evening. May Liddiard

My partner and I had an amazing meal here last night. We booked here on whim and were totally impressed by the quality of food and the attentiveness of the staff. We both got the Chef’s special set meal as we thought that would be a nice way to try a bit of everything. All the food was delicious, well portioned and came out to us in good time. The owner was really kind and friendly, chatting away to customers in the shop and I saw several people hug him as they were leaving, which is not only a testament to how well liked he is but also proves that this really is a well loved hidden gem!

Infinitely better than the usual ghee drenched curry that passes off as acceptable in so many restaurants. Whilst I'm not an expert on Nepalese food, I can confirm that the Gurkha Palace offers dishes that place towards the top of any typical English curry house. The sauces have great consistency and flavour and most of the dishes (not all) are freshly prepared. I come down from London to visit my father and the Gurkha Palace is our favourite restaurant in the area. I am fortunate enough to eat every so often at Michelin starred Indian restaurants in central London and I have travelled extensively around India so I have experienced high quality curry. The Gurkha Place is not that far off in terms of culinary excellence, especially when the very competitive price is factored in. I also have a background in London restaurants. I unreservedly recommend the Gurkha Palace.

We checked reviews online for Gurka Palace and were not disappointed. The food and service were exceptional. well worth the mile walk for us to get there!

We had a wonderful evening tonight at the Ghurka Palace where our party of five went to celebrate a friend's birthday. The staff were welcoming, efficient and attentive from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious and very good value for money, freshly prepared (the fabulous aroma of the spices and food which welcomes you when you enter the room says it all) . I ordered the clay oven Sekenko Salmon which was divine and generous in size portion. The menu has an excellent range of dishes, to cater for all dietary requirements, and a clear labelling of allergens. One other massive plus was how calm and peaceful the restaurant was (and no we were not the only customers :) , with no obtrusive background music. We could talk and hear one another without difficulty. All in all, a perfect evening: great food, great wine, great company. Thanks to all the staff at the Ghurka Palace for a great meal out.

This was my first time sampling Nepalese style food. I thought it was a fusion of East Indian and Thai, two of my favourite food groups. We were a table of 8, all enjoyed the food and the Nepalese beer. Service was great and the food was hot.

Great Nepalese food. I highly recommend the Gurkha Palace!!

There are many Nepalese restaurants in the area but this is my favourite because the food is excellent and the ingredients of exceptional quality. The owner and staff are welcoming and very nice. We generally have Rogan Josh and Kukhura ko Masu or Sherpa Kukhura both chicken dishes. The vegetables are delicious, we know friends who are vegetarians and vegans and they very much like this restaurant. The food is so fresh and a lot of care goes into the preparation of all the dishes. Momo is the best I have had and the tandoori dishes are delicious too, particularly the mint chicken tikka. Best wine list I have come across in any Asian restaurant including London. This has to be easily in the top five places to eat in the area out of any restaurant.

That was amazing. We've never had Nepali food before, but after a recommendation from some Gurkhas we thought we would give it a try. We are not disappointed and think we have found our new favourite cuisine. Definitely ordering again!

A calm yet warm atmosphere where we could chat and eat to our heart's content - considering it was a Thursday evening, we were surprised by how popular it was. Clearly credit to the staff and the food. Once we had ordered, our meal didn't take long to arrive but you could tell it had been freshly prepared. Sadly, we don't live locally but if we ever visit Folkestone again I will definitely be returning! Highly recommend. Thank you.

This placed hasn't changed in years!!!! and it doesn't need to.. can't believe its been 15 years since I've been here, the staff curry was like I remembered back when I was in the service! Loved it

My wife and I drive to this restaurant once and sometimes twice a week. We also like to take friends here as we can not rate this restaurant enough the food and service is amazing and nothing is too much for the friendly staff. The chicken chilli dry fry is exactly the same as you get in Kathmandu. If you go here to eat the truly authentic Nepalese food you won’t be disappointed with anything you have.

Have ordered from Gurkha Palace before but this time really disappointing I won't be going back, we ordered a chicken korma and another lamb dish and both curries were really watery with over cooked meat and no flavour, everything was just really average, actually it's put me off eating curry for a long time. I will say thank you to the delivery driver though he was nice and gave us a smile when came to the door.

Love this place. Best curries (and not just your usual ones either) in Folkestone and great service too. The Momo dumplings are to die for. Highly recommended.

We were staying in Folkestone for a weekend getaway. This was our first visit to this charming little Nepalese restaurant and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was sociable with families, couples and friend groups. The food was delicious and plentiful. We will definitely visit again and thoroughly recommend to all.

The Sherpa Kukhura was absolutely delish

Not sure about other reviews.but food just OK. Both curries ordered were meant to be different. But tasted the same .poppadoms were shop bought.mango chutney .no chutney just sauce .would not go back .

Great quality food. However, I chose a ‘medium’ butter chicken and it had absolutely no spice to it whatsoever. Rather disappointing but will try something different next time.

I’ve visited this restaurant twice since finding it hidden away in the Golden Valley and it’s been thoroughly enjoyable both times. The staff are really friendly and looked after us, the food is absolutely delicious (especially the chefs special set menu you can order for 2 people or more), the environment is relaxed and comfortable. Bathrooms are spotless and it is priced well too. We have also had a takeaway from there which was lovely. I’ll definitely be visiting again soon. Also recommend the Gurkha beer. Very nice.

Visited Gurkha Palace last night 31 October. Have been many times in the past and could not fault it. However, we were very disappointed with the food and service. Food bland but at the beginning of our visit service was adequate. But when our main meal was finished, we were ignored. We were going to have dessert and coffee but we were ignored. There was only one other table occupied so not busy. Waiter spent most of his time on the phone. After about 20/30 minutes we asked for the bill and left. Would not recommend Gurkha Palace.

We met with a large group of friends at the Gurkha Palace restaurant and had a fun evening. When we arrived it was quiet, though soon filled up. Our group was loud and a little boisterous. The servers were fine with this, even to the point of joining in on the fun. We had a very enjoyable evening, made that much better by the great service, varied menu and good food. This was no high end restaurant, but somewhere where you can have good food at a reasonable price in a comfortable environment.

I’ve ordered from here many times before but was really disappointed today. The food is always pretty good, but today’s order arrived 20 minutes late and missing one of the mains. When I phoned to say the item was missing the person, although apologising, did nothing but laugh at our inconvenience. I found this rather disrespectful and her apology very insincere. More annoyingly this was a birthday meal that we had to eat separately whilst we waited for the missing food to arrive. Very disappointing.

Everything delicious except the naan bread which was disappointing and crispy this time.

The food was hot and tasty and delivered on time. However the poppadoms we ordered were not in the delivery but Just Eat has refunded us for these - have just seen on the website that you actually get free poppadoms with orders over £15 so doubly disappointed. The Mish Mas Masu was also very tasty but there were no King Prawns in it at all, which was really disappointing and made it expensive for what it was! I will probably order from here again just to give the place a chance to redeem themsel

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, HORRIBLE FOOD, and EXPENSIVE We recently visited Dover and craved some momos and proper Nepalese food and found this place. We ordered momos, Gurkha beer, lamb rogan josh and tarsi khasi. Tbh, names don’t really matter anyway as they all had the same curry and flavour). The momos were served and they were delicious and we complimented the server about the momos when he came back. The 2 lamb dishes and naans were served and at first, we thought the same thing was served rather than 2 different dishes. We were wrong and right. They were the same dishes, but one was way hotter as they had added raw chilli powder and mixed it in the gravy of the other lamb dish we had. The lamb was stretchy and chewy. I only ate naan on its own and my family was really hungry so we basically binned the food in our stomachs. We decided to provide feedback to the manager/chef/server and told him politely what our thoughts were. As soon as we mentioned that both the dishes had the same gravy and one just had raw chilli powder added on top, he flipped and said “it is our fan favourite, rest is upto you” and walked away. We were so shook with the way he raised his voice that none of us spoke again. The bill came and before we paid, we wanted to ensure that the manager understands that we were upset with the way he wasn’t ready to accept our feedback and instead, shouted at us. While we paid the bill, we kept trying to tell him that his behaviour was rude and he kept saying he wasn’t wrong. This horrendous experience costed us £83. I am sorry Gurkha Palace, your food was bad and the customer service made it even worse. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing food, really tasty and not oily, focus is on the spices and very generous portions of prawn/chicken/meat in the curries, they don't skimp.

I have now eaten 3 times at the Gurkha Palace and I believe it to be one of the best Asian food restaurants in the South East of Kent. The food is freshly prepared and is simply delicious. The staff are friendly and not overly attentive, allowing you to get on with the business of eating and not constantly being asked how the meal is! Nice decor and very clean. I highly recommend the Gurkha Palace. You will not be disappointed.

What a lovely find.. The staff were friendly our food was wonderful full of flavour’s so tasty. We’re only visiting the area which is a shame as I would always be in there. Food & drinks were cheap so left them a big fat tip which they deserved…. Highly recommend *****

We had a brilliant meal at Gurkha Palace. The menu has a great range of really interesting food, and everything we ate was delicious. Our 12 yearold son says it was so good he would give it a rating of 6 rather than 5 if he could. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant and wish it was closer to where we live!!

Hidden gem. Fantastic menu, food and service. The staff here are lovely and friendly. The food is amazing with a broad range to suit everyone and great quality. Great for both regular meals and family events. Thoroughly recommend. Also gluten free friendly.

The paneer masala tasted very odd and was mainly sauce. The sag was also very watery. I thought I’d ordered sag aloo, but instead I paid £5:30 for wilted spinach. Very disappointing and not what I expected.

The Gurkha Palace never fail to impress me! I’ve been eating at the Gurkha Palace since a young child and I’ve never left feeling dissatisfied - they’re always very consistent. Amazing management and amazing food, what else could you ask for?

Wonderful food, well cooked and very tasty. The portion sizes are more than ample. The service is second to none, polite and friendly. The venue is always very clean and it has just been decorated as well. A must restaurant to be at.
