Tony and Jack arranged my Aunt's wake. We couldn't have asked for more. From initial enquiry right though to the end of the day nothing was too much. Catered for all dietary requests and the food was first class and plentiful. Thank you from all the family

Avoid for anything other than a coffee. We came here because it's dog friendly. Ordered a tuna, mayonnaise and cucumber sandwich at an eye watering £9.75! So I was expecting something spectacular. I received a soggy, brown bread sandwich that I could have made that badly at home. Absolutely no effort. Manufactured tuna mayo filling paste with a few bits of cucumber served - no, thrown - in a bowl. Yes, a bowl. With a miniscule amount of chopped, browning lettuce, red pepper and two halves of cherry tomato. My wife's toasted sandwich was even worse. It looked like two bits of toast squashed together. Neither were even worth the £2.75 we were each charged for 12 chips. So two sandwiches, 3 portions of 12 chips and three coffees, nearly £40!!! Furthermore, the food was brought to the table by a waitress and when we enquired as to our coffee's, we were told that we were supposed to collect them from the counter after paying. Except the member of staff dealing with the orders and payments couldn't be bothered to tell anyone the procedure. Our coffee was then of course, cold. So with some surly effort they were replaced with fresh ones. Never to be visited again. Sky high prices for dreadful food.

I’ve been going to this cafe on and off for 10 years. I have to say my experience has gone downhill since Covid. My recent visit has been very disappointing . I ordered a Spinach and Mushroom Quiche with salads. First of all, the Quiche was still frozen in the middle. Secondly, I didn’t even have time to argue because my daughter has been stung by a wasp. Totally understood this is normal in warm weather but the Cafe’s reaction has been shocking. I went to the counter to ask for some ice. It took at least 5 mins for the waiter to get it despite I can see a bag of ice lying on the table with 1 waitress standing next to it chatting to another lady. I asked can someone just give me the ice as my daughter is crying in pain. I was told someone has gone to get first aid and they can’t “just give me the ice”. After another 5 mins, the first aid has finally showed up. After asking what happened, his words are: oh…..I’m afraid there is not much I can do. I said can you grab me some ice please? It is at that point we finally got the ice!!! I washed my daughter’s wound with some soapy water after a quick google on what to do. I’m not a fully qualified first aid by no means. The cafe has an outside sitting area and wasp sting would be very common. Pleas train your staff on what to do or get some wasps trap like Polhill did. Very disappointing and I would have to end my visit after 10 years. Service standard has gone down too. Most of them look like they don’t want to work there and have a terrible attitude.

We used to live in the village for many years and it seemed fitting to arrange our mothers wake at the pub we used to pop into for drinks or food over the years. Staff were so friendly and attentive, food was great and even had some left over! We were lucky to have amazing weather and we enjoyed all sitting outside in the garden where there was plenty of seating to seat 50 plus people. Highly recommend
