I have been coming to this cafe/farm shop for 20 years, not really sure what is happening here lately. It used to be such a lovely place for coffee, lunch, cake, but recently the service is not what it was. On most occasions the coffee is lukewarm and not enjoyable. Such a shame.

This old country pub restaurant is absolutely beautifully decorated and full of charm. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, also knowledgeable about the menu. The food was lovely, although I think the burger patty should be of better quality. For the price, I would say this is perfect for a date or special occasion, but not a regular meal out. We had a really lovely Valentine’s meal here and will definitely come again.

Booked to go for Sunday lunch on January 26 th 2025 Absolutely freezing- no heating on . Had an open fire but not lit. Sat with coats on but still not warm enough. I did complain but wasn’t convinced about the excuse of why radiators were not on as my partner is a plumber. Could not understand why the open fire wasn’t on either considering we are in January ! My partner pork was not hot either and roast had too many herbs - we both left food as got cold too quickly . Not cheap either. I highlighted these problems but the manager didn’t even knock my coke off the bill. Such a shame as went to support a local pub but will not ever be going back.

Another great meal at this warm, cosy and inviting pub. We sat next to the wood burner which was nice and toasty. One of us had the Belly of Pork, my mouth is watering at the thought of it! One of us had the special which was bacon and onion suet pudding……You get a generous bowl of veg each and one of us had new potatoes and one had chips. Dessert was clotted cream rice pudding……Heaven! We are lucky that this is our local pub and it couldn’t be better! Cheers!

Festive Afternoon Tea - what a treat! We were greeted on arrival with a nicely laid out table in the stunning surroundings of the orangery! This building is amazing. The table had Christmas crackers and we were greeted very quickly - as we identified our pre-booked table. Within moments of arriving we were brought warm festive mulled apple juice, which was well decorated and exceeding flavoursome and festive. Not long after we were brought this amazing tier of afternoon tea, with a range of sumptuous sandwiches - festive incensed scones - with a range of cakes and mince pies. Tea and Coffee offered throughout. Everything was amazing with a festive twist. I would highly recommend Ashburnham Place and its stunning surroundings anytime of the year, the Orangery is second to none! A**** service, quality and vibe! Thank you!

Best roast dinner and meal out in a very long time! My husband and I visited for Sunday lunch. We rarely go out these days due to the high cost of living, but we were apart at Christmas and wanted to go somewhere special. It did not disappoint! I had the pork belly and my husband had the lamb. It was absolutely delicious 😋 The dessert - Gingerbread Affagato - was gorgeous too. Service, from the time we arrived to the moment we left, was very good. All the staff were attentive, friendly and with a smile. Great customer service which is not something we see much of these days. Thank you for a superb experience. We will be back.
