Lovely food, as ever. Plentiful and extremely delicious.

The pub is temporarily shut, no idea when they will be open again. Shame as I was really looking forward to the burger or steak. Hopefully another time!👌🏼

The Dashwood Hotel and those who run it are a disaster - and it could be so good. Firstly, communication was a disaster when we had to contact them, well in advance of our stay, due to unforeseen circumstances. We were unable to go and knowing that they could have helped by re-opening the booking and finding replacement as the Blenheim Palace Game fair was on that weekend! We found someone to take our place last minute. Remote check in a nightmare and no ph no for contact! Room: no rail in wardrobe and only 2 tea bags and 2 milk pods for a 3 night stay! Lots of little niggley things when it could have been so nice. Unwelcoming

We were staying with friends who had booked a table here. Arrived early and was able to sit at our table, bonus. It was really busy so wasn't able to park easily. We had googled the menu before we went and looked really good, when we got there it was a different story, all it is is Baked Potatoes with fillings!!!! Lots of them to be precise. I went for the Roast Beef Roast Dinner Potato, hhhhmmmmm soft mushy potato, wafer thin Beef, three tiny slices of carrot, one piece of tiny Broccoli, something that resembled Stuffing, one Aunt Bessie Yorkshire Pudding, and gravy, not impressed really, can't say as I'd go back unfortunately. Shame

Called in around 2pm on a Saturday on my own, the pub was 3/4 empty, Starving hungry I asked if they were serving food, they were BUT two tables were coming in soon and the kitchen had asked staff not to take any more orders. I said I was on my own and would practically eat anything, still refused so left. HELLO you're in hospitality Not going back

One of favourite places. The food is amazing , both the regular Menu and the specials. The club sandwich is the best ! But please allow dogs in , it’s the countryside :)

Went for Saturday breakfast. Loved everything about it. Great menu, great quality, brilliant service, lovely atmosphere. We’ll be back.

A really fantastic find while chugging up the canal.

Went here for Sunday lunch yesterday with 10 others and super impressed. The staff were all really helpful and polite and service was quick. The food was excellent! I had a beef roast which was a good sized portion and faultless. My children had the chicken schwarma, the burger & fries and the other had cod and chips. Again, all faultless and the 3 clean plates said it all as they can be very fussy!! At one point the owner even came to our table to check all was ok and explained how everything is made there from the Yorkshire puddings to mincing down steaks to make the burgers. We sat inside due to our table size but the outside area at the rear looked really nice and was a good size. Would highly recommend this pub!!

We stopped off by chance on our way home and were pleasantly surprised with the menu. The food was absolutely delicious. All the staff were very polite. We loved the idea having a mixed menu choice of western and Indian cuisine. We will definitely be returning.

Amazing service, amazing food and great location. Was lovely to chat to Harriette when it started to get a bir quieter. 100% recommend for a cream tea and cake! The jacket potatoes looked so good too but we were unable to fit one in Will definitely be booking to come for the chocoholic cream tea!! Thank you!!

1 Not great at all , over priced food , bad service all round, quite rude staff in fact one guy in the white tshirt has no customer service at all !!!!!!! Prawn & avocado salad they said, well 5 prawns & 2 little pieces of avocado , on a bed of pure lettuce with the odd piece of onion was disgraceful at £17.95 There were quite a few of us , they didn't care , no dessert offered just felt like we were shoved out & done with Awful awful service, we certainly won't be back !!!!!!!!

So, this used to be my favourite pub in Oxfordshire. But over the last two years it’s just deteriorated and I have stopped going. The service became really poor and we had some subpar food on our most recent visit too. It’s table service, but the two boys waiting on us spend their whole time playing in their phones and we had to go to the bar three times for service. There they were, deep in TikTok or Candy Crush, ignoring their hungry customers. I will try again because it used to be SO GOOD. I will update if things have got better.

Excellent, very welcoming. Excellent food and the beer is not bad either. Maybe a new owner but very well managed. Food was quickly on the table. Staff very friendly and competent.
