I had heard good things about V-Giyan, and after trying it, I can see why. The thoughtful packaging and delicious food really stood out. It’s clear the team is passionate about bringing something unique to the vegan scene. I’m looking forward to becoming a regular customer and supporting their efforts. Indy has been such a great individual to deal and love his passion with the business!

WARNING: TEMPORARILY CLOSED. We booked a table for Sunday lunch yesterday but got to the pub to find that it was closed, no lights on, no answer at the door. I checked their Facebook page and it showed that they were closing for maintenance for 2 weeks end of January. I tried to report a change in hours on Google so others don't make the same mistake! Please close your booking system temporarily whilst you're closed!

The Dashwood Hotel and those who run it are a disaster - and it could be so good. Firstly, communication was a disaster when we had to contact them, well in advance of our stay, due to unforeseen circumstances. We were unable to go and knowing that they could have helped by re-opening the booking and finding replacement as the Blenheim Palace Game fair was on that weekend! We found someone to take our place last minute. Remote check in a nightmare and no ph no for contact! Room: no rail in wardrobe and only 2 tea bags and 2 milk pods for a 3 night stay! Lots of little niggley things when it could have been so nice. Unwelcoming

Managed to drop in for the Sunday carvery today after our walk and it was delicious!! Very generous meat servings and all the trimmings available were quality - including crispy potatoes! May be advisable to book as we were only a party of 2 and went in towards the end of the carvery time - but food was still hot, fresh and tasty! Lovely landlord too

Beautiful pub. Visited for drinks with friends and the quiz! Amazing night. Cozy, country pub setting, fire burning and pub dog greeting us. Unfortunately we came second in the quiz but will be back to better our place. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. A rare find. We didn't eat but menu looks great. Will be back to sample the food. I live in a local village but will travel to make this our local. Lovely garden area. Definitely looking forward to the weather getting better to take advantage of this.

This was an excellent choice for dinner and an authentic Indian meal with outstanding service. We had a lamb rogan josh and a biriyani which was simply gorgeous and cooked in the traditional way with a puff pasty lid. The dishes are cooked to your preference with regards to the heat of the spices. Honestly one of the best Indian meals we have eaten. Thank you.

AVOID!!! Went some years ago and it was fantastic but to say it’s gone downhill Is an understatement! We went this evening for valentines dinner and it was crap! It’s being run by kids who are more interested in chatting with mates than serving paying customers. A few of our issues: Food was bland and underwhelming. For starter I had “Gambas pil pil” a lovely dish that I am familiar with. Except instead of gorgeous succulent prawns cooked in olive oil with garlic and chilli - I was served prawns with chunks of chorizo in a tomato passata sauce. No mention of the chorizo on the menu btw so good job I’m not pescatarian! Hubs had the hummus which was tasteless, but luckily we were both starving so we continued. Mains were just as disappointing. Over cooked steak and strange garlic butter accompaniment. For dessert, as I’d ordered off the v-day menu I had a desert included which was a few tiny strawberries with chocolate drizzled across the top - described on the menu as chocolate dipped strawberries with jersey cream… no cream in sight. In addition, at 7.30 on a Friday evening they had ‘miraculously’ ran out of wine glasses so my Merlot was served in a champagne flute. Where all the wine glasses had miraculously gone is a total mystery considering the place was over half empty! We waited over 30 mins for our mains to be cleared and then had to ask to see the desert menu… there appeared to be 4 deserts to chose from but the bread and butter pudding was listed twice, and we were told they’d ran out… leaving very little choice. The main guy who greeted us and served us a little was always in a hurry to get away, and when we left the pub after paying a shocking £110, he was sprawled out on the floor on his phone and barely even looked up… no goodbye, thank you for coming. Oh and to top it all off, the ladies loos reek of stale fags. Safe to say we won’t be returning and if you’re reading this I advise you avoid the place too!

Manageress does a great job at this local but also a destination pub. Don't miss the Cribbage night. Or the Live Folk Music played by fabulously talented musicians, on the First Monday of the month. Fresh baked pizza from the smart van outside
