My husband and I had been anxiously waiting for V-giyan to start up again and really really glad to see their success for the second time. We ordered a meal for 2-3 and everything was absolutely perfect and home cooked. I also ordered bulk samosas and aloo tiki which comes with the tamarind and green chutney for work, and I got so many comments on the excellent food. Very much worth the wait!! Thank you V-giyan!

Really can not recommend. Rooms have extremely low ceilings and definitely not luxurious. One packet of biscuits and one coffee bag between 2! Waited 50 minutes for breakfast which included one strip of very overcooked and tough streaky bacon, burnt toast and no mention of the black pudding which was supposed to be included.

The Dashwood Hotel and those who run it are a disaster - and it could be so good. Firstly, communication was a disaster when we had to contact them, well in advance of our stay, due to unforeseen circumstances. We were unable to go and knowing that they could have helped by re-opening the booking and finding replacement as the Blenheim Palace Game fair was on that weekend! We found someone to take our place last minute. Remote check in a nightmare and no ph no for contact! Room: no rail in wardrobe and only 2 tea bags and 2 milk pods for a 3 night stay! Lots of little niggley things when it could have been so nice. Unwelcoming

Managed to drop in for the Sunday carvery today after our walk and it was delicious!! Very generous meat servings and all the trimmings available were quality - including crispy potatoes! May be advisable to book as we were only a party of 2 and went in towards the end of the carvery time - but food was still hot, fresh and tasty! Lovely landlord too

This is a lovely pub situated next to a canal. It must be lovely in the summer. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a real log fire but that was hogged by some middle aged men who were obviously regulars. The atmosphere in the pub was very good and the food appeared to be good. It was obvious to me that apart from the men by the fire, the pub is food orientated with a very well set up dining room. The downside is that the Jolly Boatman is expensive but judging by how busy it was, the management are charging what the market will bear.

A Fantastic Sunday Lunch! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cosy atmosphere that set the tone for a relaxing meal. The roast was exceptional – perfectly cooked meat (I recommend the pork belly), crispy roast potatoes, a generous helping of seasonal vegetables and a rich, flavourful gravy! The pub itself has a charming, welcoming vibe, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive! We’ll definitely be returning!!

Coffee and cinnamon swirl very nice. BUT…gents toilets out of order, so used handicap toilet where the hand dryer did not work. AND… re-training definitely needed on hygiene behind the counter. Realised after I got my coffee that both the young lady on the till and the middle aged male barista had both picked up my cup by the top by putting two fingers into the cup. Very poor! I bet they weren’t taught to do that by Starbucks.

A pleasant venue to sit outside when the weather is clement and overall the place has a nice atmosphere. Our food was good and we would’ve given a higher rating if the two items we initially ordered were served but after taking our order the waiter returned some 10 minutes later to inform us that our choice was not available and he asked us to select something else? The second negative issue was we had pre-booked a room to stay the night but my partner, who is 6 foot four, could not stand up in it due to the extremely low ceiling which was not mentioned to us beforehand. Indeed, even the Dining area had a low ceiling made worse by a selection of decorative twigs hanging from the roof of the room. A charming old building it may be, but if patrons have to negotiate low beams and ceilings, this should be mentioned at the time of booking and not discovered by customers when they have no choice but to lump it.
