The Blacks Head Inn in Cherwell

After reading the reviews for this pub we decided to book a table for Saturday night and we are glad we did. Very warm welcome and a nice atmosphere. As others have said plenty on the plate and of good quality and very good prices. Would we return that's for sure.

Managed to drop in for the Sunday carvery today after our walk and it was delicious!! Very generous meat servings and all the trimmings available were quality - including crispy potatoes! May be advisable to book as we were only a party of 2 and went in towards the end of the carvery time - but food was still hot, fresh and tasty! Lovely landlord too

Booked a table for Sunday Carvery. Has to be one of the best carvery’s we’ve had for many many years. Cooked to perfection. Fast, friendly service. Highly recommend if you are staying nearby. 😀😀

This is a local pub, very friendly. Food is absolutely delicious, very big portions too. Don’t dress up it’s a local pub but well worth it, we will be back 🍻

Very enjoyable evening. Staying at a local campsite. Chef came out to meet us. Offered hubby cottage pie freshly made ( not on menu) , made me a halloumi burger specially as vegetarian. Absolutely delicious with peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and pickles. Cottage pie equally delicious. Doggies got a complimentary sausage each. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent pub the food we had was very good the entertainment was excellent. Only disappointment was having to pay for soda water to have with my wife’s wine @ £17.50 a bottle. Other than that excellent

Had Christmas Dinner there last Saturday, great food great staff 10/10.

I had the Lamb,pea and mint pie with mash and peas.Hats off to the Chef 10 out of 10.

The Sunday roast is simple, tasty, great value, home cooked food. Staff were very friendly and accommodating of our party that included two small children. All round great experience.

Had a sunday roast meat was cooked perfectly,however the veg was cooked in butter & over seasoned with black pepper corns,I'd rather season my own dinner thank you. Also small portion for the price,hence why I never had pudding.

Great stop for a drink. Wasn't busy when I went, but fitted the bill.

Friendly staff, allows dogs, Camden pale ale went down a treat, didn't sample the food as there is none available Monday and Tuesday

Lovely little country pub, excellent staff, friendly faces, amazing food at more than affordable prices, had the roast pork, all home done and the apple sauce was amazing too! Would recommend to any and every body, beer’s not badly priced either and very clean

This is a lovely drinking establishment. I understand that rhis has just reopened and that they will be doing food in the near future. Have to say that if they get the food going it will give all the pibs in the area a rub for their money. All staff are extremely friendly as are all the locals we met. Would highly recommend this pub.
