Lovely place to stop for breakfast when travelling around the country. Good parking. Great ambiance and plenty of staff. The service is good and food is great, we can recommend the scrambed eggs and porridge.

Visited with my eldest son who had the beef brisket in semi brioche bun, lime slaw & melted cheddar. Excellent presentation and delicious. My choice was the cheesy tart, leaves & buckwheat salad. I can’t resist ordering this tart again & again , often different flavours but yesterday’s offering was goats cheese . Aesthetically this looks so much more than your average tart. It is deep, sumptuous, a towering creation with a pastry base, oozing flavour & eat me vibes! The Milk Shed never disappoints I’ve visited many times over the years with family and friends sampling their many dishes. The place oozes passion about the produce, the chef and staff are motivated and deliver an experience which is all about the food and vibe.

Come across this little Jem whilst travelling. Looked quiet until you opened the door and it was busy. Professional staff and good food but small menu. Waited quite a while for scrambled eggs and also quite expensive £32.25 for 2 x scrambled eggs, 1 with streaky bacon and 1 with tomatoes, 2 black coffees.

We visited today for breakfast. We’d been before during the weekend, which was absolutely rammed (good for business, but not so much for us), but we thought it would be quieter during the week, and it was. So bear this in mind when visiting. We sat outside in the sunshine, which was lovely! My partner went for scrambled egg on sourdough toast, I went for the club sandwich (a favourite of mine!). It did not disappoint. We enjoyed some ice cream after, which was also delicious.

Arrived on a Friday for brunch and the pace was busy. Nice mix of ages and genders. Good food and prompt service. The portions are too large for one person which goes some way to justify the cost I suppose but would like better value for money. A portion of toast and honey included 3 large slices of bread. I saw other people having to offload some of their meal as it was too large for one. When its full or indeed when there are a few people around it can get a bit noisy, and difficult to hear normal conversion. Children are loud and can be banging their toys on the hard wooden tables. There are hard services all around with metal chairs, stone floors wooden tables. Could benefit from acoustic mitigation measures.

Flavour mostly great, but felt short changed. Been before, money wasn’t an issue, ordered food - tasted great. Went today on the way back from something, but feel a bit disappointed. Couldn’t choose between the club sarnie, the chorizo and red pepper crostini and the dhal, so opted for all 3. The club sandwich offers maximum flavour, but lacks on substance for me. If I’m paying £13,50 for a club sandwich I want to be remotely full at the end - attached is a picture of one of the 2 same sized pieces of chicken - not good enough. The basil Mayo is to die for, I will add. The crostini, again, isn’t anywhere near filling enough to warrant the price. You can’t deny the flavour, but one slice of sourdough with a few cooked peppers, some aioli and 3 slithers or chorizo isn’t just cause for charging £14 - it’s not on. What’s frustrating is again, the flavour is superb, but it’s here’s just not enough there to warrant the hefty price. Then we get on to the Dhal, which to be frank was an utter disgrace. Sour, watery, lacked seasoning and overall depth. Undercooked root veg on top and just an out-and-out disappointment, especially when the other 2 dishes we’d ordered weren’t sizeable enough to quell any hunger pains. A decent sized portion, just a shame it was such a poor dish. Also, £6.25 for a milkshake is an utter disgrace and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Perplexed the place is as busy as it is. Staff seem attentive and friendly, can’t quarrel that but the portion sizes are hugely substandard, given the astronomical prices. Won’t be rushing back, which is a shame. Not much around those parts with the ideas and flavour (aside from the watery dhal), but the portions are 50% too small. I will add, my wife and I are slight, modest eaters / far from greedy pigs.

We have been coming here regularly for many years but it just does not feel the same any more. We have enjoyed many club sandwiches, milwaukee rye etc and used to recommend the Milk Shed to friends. However the prices now seem to have gone up considerably but the worst thing is the atmosphere, none of the staff seem very friendly or welcoming and one member of staff in particular seems very abrupt and rude. I’ve been for lunch a couple of times at weekends but today my husband and I were without our 12 year old and the dog and I wanted him to experience the food. It was busy enough to have a lovely atmosphere but quiet enough to get a table without queuing. He had the tart of the day (leek and feta) whilst I had the gorgeous scrambled egg with spicy chorizo and roast tomatoes. Everything was without fault, wonderfully flavoursome and delicious. If only The Milk Shed could teach high end hotels how to actually cook a tomato! I travel with work and have been disappointed by thousands of tomatoes over the years. I’ve tried to recreate the eggs numerous times at home and failed miserably. Service was fantastic as always. Thank you for a wonderful brunch!

I'd been recommended this place by a work colleague last Autumn but hadn't taken the opportunity - until now;I am so glad I did. On arrival, the whole place is fairly unassuming. Situated at Manor Farm, just outside Weston-On- the-Green, close to the Heyfords, we were greeted, following a short stroll from the car park, with an A board showing lots of items as sold out. It was almost 1.45pm and they stop serving hot foood at 2.30pm. Our initial concerns were abated after being shown to a sharing table [i.e. sitting with other customers] and given the short but varied food menu. The Milk Shed is definitely a brunch venue and the opening hours match that assumption : 10.30am to 3.30pm. It was bustling, busy and has the added attraction of what looked like homemade ice cream to take away. We ordered from the main menu, which features standard breakfast choices, backed up by dishes such as Grilled chorizo and piquillo pepper crostini and a deep-filled cheesy tart, alongside a mega salad plate with herb grilled chicken and a yellow lentil dahl. The children's menu includes scrambled eggs, pasta and that old reliable, beans on toast. We opted for the toasted sourdough smoked streaky bacon sarnie and the Milwaukee rye with avo, halloumi, roast tomato, basil mayo and leaves. Both were generously proportioned and flavoursome. Priced at £8 and £14 respectively, I would say that it was a bit more expensive than we are used to but, on reflection, the quality of the food is clearly evident from the first bite. My wife's sarnie was delicious and you could see the steam rising off he just cooked bacon. As for my open sandwich, it was one of the most delicious brunch dishes I have tasted outside of UE Coffee Roasters, just outside Witney. The star of the plate is the basil mayo : rich, bold and with a vinegary sharpness that complemented the halloumi and super sweet tomatoes, roasted to perfection until their unctuousness caressed the taste buds. This mayo - oh my - they need to sell it in big jars, somehow !! The golden chunks of halloumi mixed with the creamy smashed avocado worked incredibly well together. Most impressive was the rye bread - I don't know whether it is bought in or made on site but it retained both a light and chewy aspect, with a subtle complexity of flavour that perfectly offset the mounds of delicious savoury toppings. In addition we ordered two smoother than you could imagine cappucinos and a shared slice of lemon and poppy seed cake. The latter was light, infused with lemon flavour and rounded off with a smooth, moreish buttercream. Another delightful touch is the free tap water refills that come reassuringly cold. After paying, I popped my head into the kitchen and thanked the chef for the fantastic tasting food. We will be back again within the month. I cannot recommend The Milk Shed enough. Go, as soon as you can!

We stopped off on a very long journey home from an overseas holiday as we wanted to avoid pricey junk filled service stations. My husband and daughter had the deep filled cheese pie which came with a very nice salad. They both enjoyed their food immensely. My son had the kids menu tomato pasta and I had scrambled eggs on sour dough toast with roasted tomatoes. I had to send my eggs back as they really weren’t cooked enough for me (personal taste - my husband would have eaten them no problem!) and they happily replaced them for some more well done eggs. We had tea for two and the kids had soft drinks. £45 seemed pricey for what we received, but maybe this is typical for prices down this way? We visit a lot of farm shop establishments where we live (southern Scotland) and they can be a bit pricey. This café is obviously very popular and it was busy - we would have availed ourselves of the home made ice cream which did look lovely, but we had to be on our way - plus at £2.95 per scoop we couldn’t justify the expense.

Have come in here several times for breakfast and it is always heavenly. You can't book a table so you have to get there early as it fills up very quickly on the weekends. Still a bit of a secret spot so not many people...

Me & my mum visited yesterday for lunch. We both had the mushroom and blue picos cheese tart. Once again.... delicious! It was made even better by the wonderful salad alongside which perfectly complimented the flavours. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return!

Wow, I can’t rate this place highly enough!! The staff are excellent, energetic, friendly, always really well turned out. The food - everyone goes there for the scrambled eggs and bacon, but every breakfast, brunch and lunch I’ve ever had there has been spot on. The food is all sourced locally, the menus are created to showcase seasonal food, and the portions are exactly right. The mega hot chocolate is perfect this time of year!!

Now.....I am ashamed to say that this little gem in on my doorstep under my nose and I haven't noticed it. I was invitied by my sister in law to go for a new evening opening at the milkshed for winter supper?? Winter supper in a milkshake place I said!!!! It appears that the Milkshed is opening on a Thursday evening from 6.30-10pm form"grown up supper" this is going on until the Thursday before xmas but please do check on their Facebook page. We arrived at 6.30 as they don't accept bookings and it quickly filled up. The menu was just right, a couple of starters to choose from, 3 mains a couple of puds and a selection of good quality wine. What more could you ask? It was damn delicious, the menu changes weekly and when we left around 8.15pm there was space becoming available. The price reflects the quality which I think was really good for fresh home cooked food presented beautifully. The mains are approx £10-£12 and a 125 ml wine around £4. Believe me the little shed was really cosy and festive, fresh flowers on the table, twinkle lights and candles.....the ambience was great. It was also beautifully warm. Now as I said this little gem has gone unnoticed by me but I am reliably informed by my sisiter in law that the breakfast is also to die for. Oh and the cakes and the ice cream...........please do check directly for the winter supper nights as the menu changes and times......

A lovely place to visit for breakfast, the whole place was buzzing, and by the time we left people were queueing for tables, so the place speaks for itself. The food was exquisite, well cooked and hot, what more could one want?

Went to the milk shed with another couple for brunch! Food is fresh and really really good! Also the milkshakes are some of the best I've had! The menu is quite expensive but I would say well worth it for a special treat!

We stopped here with kids after a long drive. All the food was lovely. However the 'tart of the day' was outstanding. Today it was purple potato, chard, hazelnut and I think it was taleggio. It was amazing... served with an equally appealing dressed salad. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

The Milk Shed is a lovely venue for a small get together over brunch or lunch. It closes at 3pm for food so beware of that and is closed Monday. Apart from that its is a great place to eat and pass the time. It can get very busy because it is now a destination and very popular. The food is excellent.

Have been here a few times and the place never disappoints. It's always busy but despite this service is always swift and friendly. Food is always seasonal and the ice cream is local and superb. I had a really tasty bacon sandwich and my wife had toast and jam. Our friends had a selection of salads. Looking forward to going back.

Having picked up our niece from school, we decided to make an impromptu visit to The Milk Shed for an ice cream. The place was packed at about 1530hrs, and although the kitchen was closed for lunch, we ordered some gelatos and a piece of Apple crumble cake & a cafe latte. The cake was to die for, and I was told that the gelatos were equally good. The staff were very helpful and smiley, which is a rarity these days.Although the kitchen was closed, I am sure the food would have been equally as tasty. While it is a little off the beaten track, it is somewhere to track down and visit, as it has just about everything most people would want !!

This is a really popular cafe in a farm barn. Lovely fresh food. I had eggs benedict for brunch which was perfectly cooked. The milkshakes are made from their dairy ice-cream, and there are 10s of flavours. Our favourite is salted caramel!Well worth a visit, closed on Mondays

Ok, so my third review of the Milk Shed and still top notch food! Yes it was busy and staff were looking to put people on shared tables but that is what is popularity does, dont go here at midday if you want a quiet lunch or if you are not prepared to POSSIBLY share a large table with another couole (the tables in question are huge, you would not feel as though you are sharing!). The club sandwich is the best we have had, fantastic. The highlight on this trip had to be the cheeseboard though. The cheese was amazing, masses of biscuits/crispbreads, celery, apple, radishes, beetroot, chutney. It is a meal in itself, totally recommend it if you like a nice grazing dish. Fantastic place, keep it up guys and gals!

What a gem of a find. Lovely place, great setting and very fine food! We visited around 10am on Sunday and was surprised to see the car park full to capacity. The Milk Shed was buzzing but we found a place in its comfortable surroundings and ordered breakfast. Service was efficient and the food was brilliant. Set us up perfectly for a bit of shopping at Bicester Village (about 3-4 miles away). You won't be disappointed!

Stopped off here for a lovely Sunday breakfast - one of the few places we could find that opened before 10, and very glad we chose this place. Lovely cafe area, really nicely done. Everyone's food looked amazing and I think if I had ordered anything else I would have given 5 stars. The only reasons I give 4 is that we ordered the homemade granola to share - this came beautifully presented in a jar with fruit and yogurt, but there was less than a tbsp of actual granola in there. Mostly yogurt and fruit with a few nuts and bits of dried fruit. Tasty but was hoping for more. I also ordered the special of brioche French toast with greek yogurt and caramelised figs. This was lovely and would have been perfect if the figs were warm. They were still nice cold, but warm would make that an amazing meal. My boyfriend very much enjoyed his bacon sandwich, and we saw lots of egg related breakfasts that looked fantastic too. Definitely a great place to go and is clearly popular as was getting busy by the time we left. Ice cream and cakes/cookies looked amazing too! Would recommend.

You could easily miss this place as it's tucked away at the back of an animal food warehouse on a little agricultural estate. One understated sign at the turn off. This is probably a good thing though as the place was packed - they obviously don't need to draw any more attention to themselves. Feeling slightly skeptic alone as we felt we were really entering 'shed' at first, our worries disappeared as we entered the bustling room. There was a real mix of ages in there but a lot of babies and toddlers - obviously a maternity leave hot spot! They were very accommodating, wiping our table down and fetching a high chair quickly. The menu consists of an all day breakfast which is more bacon sarnies and eggs on toast than full English. Lunches included curries, savoury tarts and salads. We ordered a chicken club sandwich and a chorizo crostini. There is a small but varied children's menu. The food really was to die for and the service was friendly. They make ice cream on site and it's worth visiting just for this - delicious!Overall a different place to eat - quick but good quality and very tasty. They cater for allergies well too. A hidden gem. The menu is limited and one of the specials had sold out when we got there so be early! They are moving to the Thame food show for the weekend soon so a good chance to see what they offer!

Just took my husband to the Milk Shed for lunch,I was worried as he likes fancy restaurants with Michelin stars. He loved it. The food is good, simple, like home cooking without the hassle. You have to order as the counter which is a bit of a pain. It is a good place for friends to meet up for lunch, you see a lot of children as it has a children menu. It has a very casual setting with a few food items for sell. I bought some ice-cream once, I cannot say it was the best.

Entertaining the grandchildren and on the way back from lunch in Oxford I said I needed an ice cream. Whoa said the guys - we know just the place. I managed to drive past it of course but easily back tracked. The drive in was not particularly encouraging but the car park was full so clearly something was happening here!It was about 2 on a Tuesday when we arrived and the cafe was buzzing and extremely busy. There was a good range of flavours and we were soon back outside under a garden umbrella enjoying the lovely ice cream

Love this place to eat , always friendly service and quick, food is delicious. Only quibble is some portions like the popcorn squid need improving, either a bigger portion or not so expensive for what you get ! £8.75 is definitely too expensive for a few bites.
