Monty's Burger Bar in Cherwell

We've been ordering online from Monty's burger bar once/twice a week and each time food was delicious and pipping hot. I love sourdough bun , much better than traditional soft bread. Fries are proper chunky and crispy. All of their burgers are just unbelievable! 🤤 Hands down, these are the best burgers I have ever eaten in my life. This place is a real gem of Bicester 😍😍😍👏👏👏💓💓

Really delicious food - the fries are amazing - perfectly crunchy outsides. The milkshakes and burgers are so good too. And the staff brought my husband a brownie desserts as it was his birthday. We will be back!

Best burger in Bicester / oxford

Range of burgers on offer, and my preference is the Venison burger. Appears a small venue but has more seating upstairs. Staff are friendly and food is good. Is a popular venue with tables busy each time we visited so suggest booking a table. Park in any of the car parks in town as the restaurant is on a pedestrian precinct in the centre of town.

Great food, good selection of drinks, we had the blue cheese burger, pastrami burger and macaroni cheese, all lovely! The cocktails were great too and service was speedy.

Fantastic Late-Night Takeaway from Monty’s After leaving the cinema late on Saturday night, we were looking for a good takeaway and happened to walk past Monty’s near Sainsbury’s. On a whim, we decided to give it a try, and we’re so glad we did! We ordered two burgers, macaroni cheese, and onion rings to take away. Everything was absolutely delicious—the burgers were juicy and full of flavor, the macaroni cheese was perfectly creamy, and the onion rings had the perfect crunch. For a spontaneous find, Monty’s really impressed us. If you’re in the area and craving a great takeaway, we highly recommend giving it a go!

ALL the food there is brilliant. I go quite regularly and even though I don't eat beef, there's a great variety of other burgers. The veggie brunch is also incredible (there's a vast quantity of guac)

Thoroughly enjoyable food. They had a burger and it was well cooked and flavorful. The stuff were very engaging and helpful. Only reason it gets three stars is that they take service charge for a table of two. Tips are optional. Shouldn't be taken as expectation

Monty's is the place to be in Bicester and easily the best restaurant in town! I work in Bicester Village, where we provide training for new Managers and Assistant Managers, and whenever they come to visit, I always take them to Monty's. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is fantastic. I strongly recommend booking a table if you're visiting on a Friday evening or over the weekend, as they are incredibly popular. Hats off to the owners for creating such a wonderful dining experience!

An outstanding restaurant! As a coeliac, I felt completely safe eating here, and the food was absolutely delicious. They have gluten-free buns, a dedicated fryer, and staff who are exceptionally knowledgeable about allergens. The attention to detail and care made this a truly fantastic experience. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough—thank you for making dining out so enjoyable!

Very impressed with the food and the service. Monty's is a great place to visit to grab a bite to eat. The short rib burger was incredible. We will be returning 100% to try some of the other items on the menu.

I went for a meal here on new years with my family we walked in about 8:30 last minute and they welcomed us in food was lovely and wasn’t waiting any more than 15 minutes at most not even that, decor and service was 10/10 don’t leave reviews often but was honestly so impressed definitely a place to go for a date or a special occasion!

Avoid! After waiting half an hour four our mains, we was told they had ran out of lamb for the burgers (lol!). And reading all the reviews seems like they threaten anyone who leaves a negative review. No effort was made to correct this experience, instead they even had the cheek to charge for service. The waiter didn’t even offer anything on the house or to take anything of the bill to compensate for their F up. Instead they seemed like they found it funny. Just avoid

Delicious burgers, excellent chips, AND gluten free options. The gluten free bun was good. They were careful with their food handling and have a dedicated fryer for gf chips (fries). The service is great. I like the decor—definitely feels like a fun place to hang with friends over comfort food. The owners/managers immediately addressed the one problem we had with our dessert. I like the fig and pistachio cake(gf). It’s nice to have a gf option other than a brownie. I suggest sitting upstairs or outside when they are busy. Downstairs can be a bit smoky from all of the great cooking.

I absolutely love Monty's & their attention to detail has been thought through at every point from the restaurant setting, the atmosphere, the design, the menu, the takeaway service with its neat packaging fitting perfectly into the bag with vented boxes, everything has been thought through from start to finish leaving it nothing short of perfection. Their food is top notch & you won't find a nicer burger nicer 40 mile radius of Bicester, this is THE place to go, the takeaway service is incredibly quick. It's not hit the level of Beefy Boys, "yet" hence the 4 stars as the Pastrami burger was overpriced for what it was compared to theirs. We've had many takeaways from here & is our go to burger place in Bicester, absolutely delicious, the family love it, thank you for being so welcoming & creating perfection on many levels.

I've visited several times over the years, but today truly sealed the deal. Despite it being a busy Sunday and a last-minute booking, they welcomed us with open arms, delivered truly incredible service, and the food.... It's just bends the laws of culinary physics. Me and my wife love it, my family loves it, and even our friends (yes, including the vegans) love it! Stop reading this review, and just go. You won’t regret it.

At the risk of making it more crowded for myself here - I am normally the last one to suggest burgers when eating out, but this place is the exception. For me, Monty’s is currently the #1 burger restaurant in Oxfordshire and I could not recommend it higher!

We went here for a meal recently and had a nice time. The staff who served us was super friendly and very welcoming. We ate burgers, cheese macaroni, bbq ribs and desserts. We didn't find the burgers anything special, however tasty and filling. Our favourite pick was the chocolatey/hazelnut pancakes. Those were exceptionally tasty. The interior atmosphere is quite cozy and spotlessly clean. Thank you 🙏

Breakfast was fantastic but slightly tainted by a £2 charge for melted cheddar on the sourdough... the melted cheese was practically an invisible film of liquid on the bread ...not my idea of what melted cheddar should look like.

Really tasty food, very family-friendly, and a nice vibrant atmosphere. The short rib burger is well designed, juicy and big and the ribs are very easy to take apart. The chicken burger is juicy and delicious. Definitely would recommend and will go back every time!

Always Come Here While Shooping In Bicester.

Went today (16/11/24) for the first time. The food was amazing - I had the classic burger and my partner, the Tuna Steak. My burger was cooked to perfect, melting in the mouth! The fries were great also! The staff were super friendly and attentive, with the only let down being the toilet upstairs - unisex, poorly lit and dirty. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience and one we’ll be repeating in a couple of weeks.

I have been here a few times now and I have always been served with THE BEST service. The food is incredible and the atmosphere is incredible. Very comforting and the staff are next level. Exactly what you should expect when going out for dinner. Menu is beautifully presented and easy to follow. I could not recommend this place more! You simply have to experience it ☺️

Really goods and the Staff members were great

Visited over the weekend with friends. No booking but they found us a comfy spot for drinks and then moved to a table when one became available. Got the feeling that nothing was too much trouble and the serving staff were all working well together to make sure nothing was missed and we had the best experience. Food was exceptional, I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a burger as much as this. Highly recommended and would definitely revisit when back in the location.

Called in on the iff chance they had a table, they struggled but found us space, we loved the meal so much, we booked in again for later in the week we were there, staff were great, food was exceptional, reasonable priced, 2 meals, 2 rounds of drinks, 2 pastries, £60. We thought that was money well spent

An impromptu visit for breakfast. We both ordered the vegetarian option although we are both meat eaters. It was well cooked and presented and plenty of it. It just needed some bacon. I’d try something different next time. Coffee was good.

Popped in after the cinema. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. All the burgers are freshly cooked. We had Classic and Chicken Burgers which were delicious. The fries deserve special mention as they were perfectly prepared crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Love the atmosphere too. We will definitely go back.

Been coming for the burgers since it’s been open and never had a bad experience. The past two times I’ve ordered a Ceasar Salad and that’s what’s really made me want to leave a review. That along with the quick seating, fast service and super friendly staff!

Absolutely banging burgers, we were a table of ten and everyone's food was delicious. Nice to eat out at reasonable prices too, £15/16 per main is great value, especially given the quality of the food.

What a breath of fresh air. We were served today by Hannah. Such great knowledge and efficiency. Drinks were organised quickly. Food delivered hot and fresh. Cosy atmosphere felt really relaxed. Just what I needed after work.

I recently visited Monty's Burger and had an interesting experience that I feel compelled to share. I'd rate it a solid three stars. The staff were quite friendly and attentive, contributing positively to the meal, but there were a few points that didn't quite hit the mark for me. Firstly, the burger, while it had a nice hint of pink in the middle which I usually appreciate, came across as a bit dry and crumbly, much like the texture you might expect from frozen patties. The chips, which took up three-quarters of the plate, had an internal texture reminiscent of mashed potatoes, suggesting they might not have been fresh. The overwhelming amount of chips felt a bit disproportionate. The starter featured corn chips, which were plentiful but unfortunately, there was not quite enough sauce to go around, making the dish feel a little unbalanced. On the plus side, the food tasted decent overall, and the ambiance was welcoming, driven by the cordial staff. However, considering the overall experience and the portion balance, I felt that the value for money wasn't quite there. Monty's has a lot of potentials and with some tweaks, could definitely elevate their game.

The Negroni cocktails were expertly crafted and absolutely delicious, the perfect complement to the meal. But the highlight was definitely the rib beef burger. It was cooked to perfection, juicy, and full of flavor. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner. Best burger i tried from a while back, i stop eating burgers from long time but i couldn’t resist it, i tried the classic burger in brioche bun , it was perfect and juicy, the fries and the onion rings was perfect too , i was visiting Bicester village and found this amazing place by searching in google maps , i would go all the way to Bicester town just for this burger 😋

Order a beef burger (short rib), it is very delicious and I recommend it. The meal can be served with a drink and fries for 23 pounds.

Our second order from Monty's .. this time we couldn't eat in the Restaurant.. so we ordered through UberEats. 2 x truffle burgers and 1 x lamb burger.. all upgraded to truffle fries. Totally amazing! We were all making mmmm.. noises! Really generous portions. A huge recommendation from us

OMG do yourself a favour and visit this burger bar! The service is unmatched, the food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths (parmesan truffle fries anyone?)!! Best meal we have had in ages. They also do breakfast/ brunch too. Highly recommend!
