I loved it here for my mums birthday all the staff were so friendly welcoming and professional its a chilled out vibe very clean, great music, amazing cocktails and mocktails, gorgeous food. I will definitely be back!!!
Finally tried flower burger yesterday and actually loved it! Its not the cheapest option, the meal was £13 (I got the avo truffle burger which had a mushroom patty, truffle mayo & guac - this was meant to have a green bun but I got a purple one for some reason, but it was really tasty and fresh with spiralised carrots) - dont rate having to pay £1 for sauce but it is what it is. I got breaded aubergines as a side which were lushhhh. Comes with those posh drinks like fentimans/tory fanta etc.
It took a little while to make and the guy serving gave us 'chocolate salami' kinda like a tiffin thing which was lush, maybe to apologise for the wait, which was sweet. But its nice its all made fresh! We got a cute keyring too. Twas too hot to eat in the store so went to pav gardens.
I was sceptical about trying it because ive read some less than glowing reviews about it but im really glad I did and will deffo be going back!
23 of us booked to have our Xmas meal here on a Friday evening. We all pre-ordered our menu choices and a deposit of £250 was paid. The drinks seemed reasonably priced for Brighton which was a bonus. We were due to eat at 7.30 pm and moved to the restaurant. Our various starters arrived at 8.15 pm and were at best luke warm. These were consumed and we waited for our main courses, we waited and waited. Several more trips to the bar and eventually after lots of chasing the mains started appearing at approximately 9.30 pm. The beef short rib arrived cold so was returned and never seen again and when questioned we were told they were making it fresh! I returned my meal to the kitchen as it was now too late for me to eat without making myself poorly, a few others from our party had to leave before the food had arrived due to getting home for family commitments and not one person received a satisfactory meal. I felt incredibly sorry for the staff who obviously had no control over the debacle it had become. When we complained and said we would not be paying the balance as the food was not worth it but they could keep the deposit we were asked if we would at least pay for our starters! No apology was received and we suggested that our deposits would more than cover the starters. We didn’t bother hanging around for pudding and all left feeling extremely disappointed at what we had just experienced and agreed it was the absolute worst dining experience any of us have ever had. Needless to say I will never ever return to this venue again. It used to be such a good place for food and being a true Brightonian I have visited many times in the past. They really stood be ashamed of themselves and need a little more customer service training. Thanks for ruining a bunch of very hard working NHS’s employees night.
The good:
the location is nice, right on the beach, the waitress was very friendly and the service was very quick.
Tha bad:
The food.We got the cheese and ham omelette, it comes with a side of chips and salad. The omelette had a strange taste, there was some liquid coming out of it, the chips were super oily and the sad-looking salad seems quite old and withered.
I left half of the food and went away. I am not one to waste food, but I didn’t want to make the same mistake I did in another Brighton restaurant two days earlier, and I wanted to avoid to get a stomachache again. I did well because my partner finished his food and lamented a stomachache for two hours afterwards.
Avoid.
Decidimos pedir algunos platos clásicos de este lugar anoche para probarlos a pesar de algunas de las críticas negativas y quedé asombrado por la calidad y la cantidad de nuestra comida para llevar sin duda volveremos a utilizar
Berty the Kemp Town badger likes this deli and hangs around the back door in anticipation of tasty 🥜🥜.
Berty the Badger has since relocated to Hastings, but is Kemp Town through and through. He's a rather well groomed and dapper chappy, who is flappy pawed and a bit limp wristed to say the least. If you encounter him he is very friendly and will bow his head for you to stroke the stripes.
I first encountered him hanging around with the bovver boy badger gang in east Hastings. He stood out though, and had a metrosexual air about him. I guess he's still mincing about in the woods out there, but I always think about him but n quiet reflection.
By the way, I love your deli and it serves gorgeous lasagne and salads. If I'm ever back down that way I'll bob in.
Enjoy the photo of Berty. He's raising his paw in the image, that's what inspired his nickname.
The food here is good! I especially love the wings! Im still trying out the whole menu.. Granted the wait for food is sometimes a little long but it's worth the wait. I've only ordered to go so I can't speak on the dine in experience but the staff I've encountered including the owner have been more than friendly and professional.
Placed an order at 1830, still hadn't arrived by 2130 and on calling either didn't answer, hung up or was told "10 minutes". Order never arrived. Disgusting service and will never use again.
This is the worst takeaway I've ever had. The food was cold, soggy and generally unpleasant. The rice was a solid lump, the prawn crackers were so burnt that they were inedible. The salt and pepper squid was rubbery and tasteless and to top it all off, the tub of sauce has spilt all over everything inside the bag. Avoid at all costs!
Came here for a sausage roll using our priority app when I scanned the qr code saying not accepted and asking for £1.20 and did it again and says no more offers but it didn’t state the fact but this was my second time having trouble from priority app. So the both of us had to wait for absolutely nothing won’t be going again or using o2 priority.
