Just found out that they have closed for retirement. Have been going here for 20 years and wish Gordon and his wife a happy retirement

A fantastic Micro Pub. The landlord is very friendly and so are the locals. A good choice of real ales. Well worth a visit

Ordered a large takeaway for 16 people. The order was exactly right, the food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food was ok, nothing to go crazy about. Small portions. Was quite dear for what we had. Waitress started taking plates over my shoulder prior to us finishing eating. As we were here for work purposes, we didn’t want to pay the service charge as we can’t claim it back. Asked politely, was met with reasonable questions was everything ok? And I said yes, then she walked away rudely in a huff and then the waiter and her were arguing about us taking the tip off. When we left, we said thanks and goodbye and were totally ignored as they were that annoyed. Quite disappointed really. For clarity I tip when I eat out the majority of times, but this service didn’t warrant it as well as being for work. They charged us £2 for a little dip too which niggled me.

First time visiting this Chinese ( due to my fav was shut that day) * If you want poor flavours. *small portions * terrible service * rude staff member * The egg fried rice had no egg in. it looked like a colouring was added . The ribs lack lustre and dry. So after two bites , which made me feel very unpleasant .we decided to take a whole lot back . Only to met by worse passive aggressive owner . Not only did the owner fail to sort in a professional manner. Claim the card machine suddenly stop working ! Call me names and to point said to my face , not a Christian or a god ! She hid the card and wouldn't let us see what she doing . After an hour after showing the owner ,if a business can not provide a refund due to a card machine ( totally believe was lying ), a business can do a cash refund . Felt sorry for the man .he was very embarrassed by her actions . He apologised but she refused . I reported this business to trading standards. Please see my review of my regular Chinese takeaway, who 100 per cent better than The rainbow.

Have eaten here a few times recently and can't make up my mind if it's a good or very good eatery...hence my rating. Although my wife and I have had very good meals, my mums lamb dish was inedible. I know because I tried to eat it after she left it. Even Jaws from the Bond films would have struggled to eat that bit of lamb. We did bring this to the attention of our excellent waitress and she offered my mum a free dessert - unfortunately that wasn't that good either, but at least was edible.

This place is beautiful! You can easily park, you can make a donation for this, but it is not mandatory. The dogs are allowed loose in certain places and fixed in some places, this is indicated due to live stock. You can take the easy routes, through the grass, which is easy to walk on in sandals. However, me and my husband + our two dogs, we walked the devils kneading trough that is in this area. Walking shoes are recommended, it is steep but really worth it! What a beautiful environment. The climb up is tough but there are steps. Take your time and breaks and enjoy everything you encounter!
