The best restaurants in North West

Three of us visited here last night and had a very positive experience. Although busy the service was excellent. The staff worked hard and were very attentive. We could not fault the food. The quality of ingredients and flavours were excellent. The place was spotless and would not hesitate to come again, nor recommend it to others.

We love it here, the food is fabulous every time lovely staff best Indian around.

Been going to the James Watts for a few years now, like it but I think they must have a problem with the Mens toilet,the smell is very bad and it’s awful sitting at the table near them, even the men going in said it smelt, needs fixing

We love this place. Excellent brunch menu and friendly service in a comfortable, calm environment. The only improvement would be to have some sweet options available with coffee.

We came to Liverpool for a weekend away. Went for an evening meal here as walked past and looked cosy. We had an excellent meal, fantastic wine, food was really good- the best steak we’d had for a long time, and great dessert and cocktail. What was really good was the staff, they were welcoming, explained things to us and didn’t rush us, which we appreciate, we would highly recommend it.

I am afraid both our meals were disappointing. A sea bass with chorizo crumb was over cooked. The chorizo emulsion little bite or indeed flavour. The fish pie was not good. The sauce wasn’t bechamel but cream with hunt the fish. The chive mash somehow became mustard mash . Spiced poached pears for dessert was the oddest we have ever eaten. Normally poached spiced pears has cinnamon and cloves etc but this tasted like allspice had been used instead Just not nice sorry to say. Reading other reviews maybe an off night but our take away was that this was a chef who didn’t understand flavours.

We haven’t been to Romulus for some time & were pleasantly surprised it hadn’t changed much, still good service & ambience, the food was delicious & piping hot. Also a good wine list with more options on the blackboard. The tables are compact but there’s still plenty of room for people with mobility issues. We will be returning in the near future.

Went in a large group today and the service was great from Stacey. Food was basic but good for the price and brought out very quickly.

A friend recommended this pub whilst I had a day off from work when working up in Liverpool. Good find ! Quiet comfortable pub, friendly barman, good tunes were playing quietly in the background. On the wall in the lounge, a great set of old black & white photographs of Liverpool scenes from recent decades. It was mid afternoon when I visited, on a Sunday. Not too busy, a few people came and went, several outside in the seating area. Be nice to go back. Cheers !

Visited for a hot drink after Pendle Hill.

Is a busy little place and I can tell why. It's absolutely delicious. It's our 3rd visit and always just manage to grab a table before it's full. Went for the special this time, hoisin duck wrap with salt and pepper fries. Looked a bit pricer than you'd think on the menu but when it came, oh my. Was filled to the brim with duck and the fries were delicious too. Never been disappointed here, always busy and bustling and attentive helpful staff. Wonder what I'll have on visit 4 as we'll definitely be back.

My negative feedback is only because of the lack of information on Google regarding opening times, I have travelled from Blackburn just for their kebab but see they were closed for holiday but they didn't update it on Google which was disappointing.

Lovely place and beautiful food. Those triple cooked chips are absolutely amazing. Going back just for them, pool table and nice outside area for pint

I get ice cream here almost everyday when it’s open that’s how good it is!

Last evening I asked for any gluten free drinks as I am coeliac 2 managers had no idea what was gluten containing drinks Not one member of staff had any idea and I was told I could drink any wine or spirit which is not the case Very rude and dismissive in front of other customers, unprofessional and ignorant
