This is a lovely cafe to visit when you are in Lancaster Town centre. Coffee, tea and soft drinks available. There is a home made soup of the day and a variety of cakes. You can also have toast with butter, jam, peanut butter. Prices are very reasonable. We visit regularly as it's peaceful and the staff are so welcoming. Good place to have a chilled break. They support veterans, run groups for them

I must have passed on several occasions without noticing the cafe. That changed a few weeks ago, and I have now visited on the three occasions when I have found myself in Lancaster between trains. Each time it has been coffee and cake, which have been excellent and well priced. The staff have been friendly on each visit.

We made a point of having morning tea several times at Sharpe's during our holiday, (for the third year running) as we were several days in Lancaster as I was playing the Organ Recital at Lancaster Town Hall. Everything fresh and the proceeds help ex-service personnel, so there is good food, freshly produced and helping others at the same time.

A small, friendly cafe serving drinks and wonderful cakes. I could eat their tea loaf all day. Sells a selection of used bits and pieces and ex-military clothes to raise money for ex-military and blue light staff. A great cause and well worth supporting.

Sharpe's is modern without being stark. There is a variety of seating to suit everybody. I snuggled into a sofa in the corner but there are plenty of tables and chairs plus some high stools looking onto the street. There are books piled tidily on every table as well as on shelves; games and colouring if you're in with the children. The atmosphere was calm and restful, some customers chatting, others reading. The young man who served me was polite and pleasant and my latte, which was delicious, arrived quickly. I didn't eat but the food looked tempting and plenty were ordering so I'm guessing it's good.

We discovered Sharpe's Cafe quite by chance and had welcome morning refreshments. After that, we were in Lancaster several times and made a point of returing several times during our holiday in Lancashire. The staff are very friendly, the food is good and the whole philosophy is to channel profits to help Service Veterans via the First Light Trust. There are books and DVDs to buy amid a really pleasant environment. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are young, friendly and enthusiastic in what they are supporting. Highly recommended - do visit and help others in so doing.

This cafe has the most amazing Victoria Sponge which judging by the comments book is everyone's favourite. Filled with fresh cream and raspberries it was truly delicious, home made and one of the best I have tasted. The coffee is some of the very best and the quiche looked very good too. Run by a charity called firstlighttrust, proceeds go towards support for veterans of the armed forces and emergency services, suffering from a variety of psychological problems. An unusual decor and setting, mainly military bits and bobs which are for sale, the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. A thoroughly nice place producing excellent coffee and food with a great cause at a very reasonable price.

I really don’t want to share this because we often miss out getting a table but….. For the last few years, the Silverdale hotel is the stand out place for food. I swear the pies in this place are incredible. I’m not sure Michelin do sars for pies but if they did, these guys would have 5 stars. Probably never get a table now🤷🏼♂️

Great pub, with history. Lovely staff, great pub grub (battered halloumi and chips), and beautifully kept beer. What's not to like! 😁👍

I've eaten at The Herbarium lots of times now and every meal I've had has been delicious. I love their matcha tea too. I'm not fully vegan, but try to eat a plant-based diet 4-5 days a week, and you certainly don't feel you're sacrificing anything in terms of taste, variety or quality at The Herb. A calming atmosphere and lovely staff too. Well done to the whole team (including the Chefs who probably don't get a shout out often enough) 👏
