The Silverdale Hotel in Lancaster

Visited for a Sunday lunch when friends were over. Excellent choice for Sunday lunch, generous helpings and plenty of veg. Great choice of meats and their special pies. Need to book as this is a busy family run pub with great friendly staff. In summer the garden is available for food service and this is equally good

We had a lovely afternoon at the Silverdale hotel , we ate a great meal had a very nice bottle of wine between us and just totally relaxed , the service was great , the atmosphere was friendly, we really enjoyed the couple of hours spent there , the team of staff couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome , definitely we will visit them again. The walk to the pub from holly farm is well worth doing to across the lots , great views and easy walking

Lovely hotel/pub Went for 1 night birthday celebration Comfortable room, slept so well. Food was lovely tho dinner and breakfast, we were a party of 3 and 2 of us are vegetarian and there wasn’t a veggie pie, which was a disappointment as the pub rate their pies. We where staying just up the road in our motor home, and wanted somewhere to watch Wigan warriors play castleford in the opening game of super league, and also have our dinner (tea in Lancashire) 4 adults a baby and a dog . The staff could not have been more helpful and accomodating, we had a lovely evening the food was fantastic ( home made pies just brilliant) We have been here before but this family run business just keeps on getting better. We visit Silverdale on a regular basis and always call in to the Silverdale Hotel at least for a pint. Today we stayed for roast dinner and I have to say that it was fantastic. Beautifully made, all the trimmings and the best roast dinner I have ever had. Thanks to Tom the chef and all the staff, brilliant.

Cracking spot. Winning awards now for the quality of its food and hospitality. Very friendly place indeed. Well looked after. We didn't eat there on this occasion but the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked top dollar.

Second time here, this time with family. Food was just as good as last time. Our main courses of fish pie, turkey and leek pie with delicious home cooked chips and chicken caesar salad all perfectly cooked. Good selection of desserts and beer very well kept. Service is polite and efficient. Recommend booking to ensure prompt service.

After a 9k walk we were looking forward to a hot drink and a rest. Dog friendly which was great 4 hot chocolates costing £10 Looked lovely great presentation though a small cup. Not hot, just warm Staff were unable to heat up the drinks or offer an apology or a refund An offer of a replacement but the machine dosent get the milk any hotter What a shame and very disappointing product and staff response

Myself, my husband, our two boys (aged 9 years and 12 years) and our border collie have just returned from a 1 night stay at this lovely pub / hotel. We had such a lovely, warm welcome and every member of staff we dealt with were friendly and super helpful! We arrived at teatime on Friday and were shown straight to our family room (room 1) - this was a brilliant size, clean, warm and comfortable with lots of lovely extras (hot drink facilities, smart TV, soft fluffy towels) and very comfortable beds!! We made our way down to the bar, where we spent the evening playing darts, enjoying the delicious food and relaxing in front of the fire. Between us we had burgers, the homemade beef mince pie and fish & chips and each meal was utterly delicious ………. some of the best “pub grub” we’ve ever eaten!!! It was the perfect Friday night! We all slept well, and woke ready for a day of exploring the local area. First we had breakfast and again the food was absolutely delicious - brilliant produce all cooked to perfection! Huge compliments to the chef!! We will definitely be back very soon! This hotel is a really lovely find, and a perfect place to come and unwind. The staff are fantastic, really helpful and friendly. Great value for money and a brilliant selection of food / drink. Plus they’re dog friendly which is a big bonus!!! We can’t wait to come back!!!

Never disappointed by the fish and chips (or any meal!!) here. Service is always brilliant, you can tell so much love is put into this place by the amazing owners. Lovely hotel located near the beach

Been a while since we've visited. The new Tap room is a great addition

Great service, great pie, yet a miserable experience this time…..How can that be? My wife’s fish pie was quite odd. Whilst she said it was decent - it was served in its own dish, which was then placed a on normal sized dinner plate. The only other thing on the plate was a spoonful of garden peas that comically rolled around the plate.. Thoughtless and boring presentation. However, in keeping in line with other local hostelries in winter, the Silverdale Hotel also doesn’t like to put the heating on too high - if at all? We were in the so-called cosy, Copper Room, with ironically an open hearth with a fire in it. It was a very very cold, the pub was not much warmer, and the fire in the hearth was not utilised. Surely they must notice that many customers are eating with their coats on? Does this not tell them something? We weren’t the only ones that day to have to keep ours on. We overheard the five customers on the table next to us to debate whether they should have another round of drinks. After much discussion they decided to go to one of their homes ‘and get warm’. So, we will give this place a miss until well after easter. Owners don’t like paying energy bills, in turn they must understand that they then pay for this choice in another way - as customers don’t like eating in cold venues either - and stay away till warmer times. Hopefully they see this as constructive criticism, and don’t try to blindly defend themselves. We’d love to come back here in the winter months Anyway..off to our favoured (warm and comfortable) pub now for lunch….

Stayed for 3 nights. Lovely room with really comfy bed. Modern bathroom with pure white fluffy towels and also toiletries. Tea, coffee, chocolate, water and biscuits provided in room. Good choice at breakfast and excellent food. Plenty of parking at hotel. Friendly staff. Dogs welcome. Near beach (parking charge).

Had lunch here. A lovely beetroot, cheese and walnut salad. My husband had the soup and a sandwich. Good value, well presented and tasty.

Popped in for a drink with our 11 day old newborn. Just as we arrived, she needed feeding so I started breastfeeding at our table. Soon after, a lovely member of staff came over and offered me a cushion to pop under my elbow. It was such a thoughtful thing to offer and made me feel really welcome and comfortable.

We we were staying at a local campsite and visited the hotel a couple of times. Just for drinks one afternoon then amazing Sunday lunch the following day. I had the roast dinner (lamb) my husband had the fish pie. Both were absolutely delicious and very good portion sizes. The staff are so friendly and couldn’t have been nicer to us. Good selection of drinks especially the flavoured gins 😊 We would defiantly return to this hotel for Food /drinks when back staying in the area.

Absolutely ridiculous. We planned a walk from Arnside over to the Silverdale Hotel. I checked on the website beforehand the serving times of food which stated between 12-3. When we arrived at 2pm the woman at the bar asked for my food order, I asked to look at the menu and went back to our table. On going to order our food I was informed that actually the kitchen was at capacity and they weren’t doing any further orders for the rest of the afternoon. There were about 5 other tables in and the place was not busy at all. We asked if the kitchen could just cater some chips or a sandwich and we were told no. It’s outrageous that a place that advertised itself as serving food cannot cater anything. I would avoid this place at all costs. Rude staff and a ridiculous business model.

Beautiful meal. Despite the restrictions, the staff made us feel welcome. We were placed on one large table even though we were two households, so we could follow the restrictions yet still feel that we were all out together. Great food and wonderful service.
