Quiet little pseudos corner: sandals , notebooks, scribbling, armpit hair, yesterdays Guardian, roll ups. Top place really. Croissant served without butter (a sin in my book), coffee cup really well worn in. Nobody smoking Gauloises outside. Now that would have been great.

We had coffees here on arrival in Lancaster then returned for a meal late afternoon. Very relaxed and friendly cafe in an unusual and stylish location. Food and drinks were great and fleshly prepared (so don’t expect fast food).

A great place to meet friends or do some work with the free WiFi. Nice coffee and some unusual teas. I had Hedgerow which was purple like ribena and very fruity to taste. There's also beet root tea and macha which are great if you're passing on caffeine today. Friendly and welcoming staff and plenty of comfortable seating inside and handy benches and tables outside when it's not raining. Finally try their citrus infused water. Goes well with a morning double espresso!

On the road heading north to Scotland, we needed somewhere to pause for breakfast so that we could join a business meeting remotely. Good wifi a must, and nice breakfast and coffee would be an added bonus. The Print Room delivered on all fronts. We were a bit concerned about the background music, but actually on the morning we visited, the noise levels were just right. Not so loud that we couldn’t be heard; not so quiet that our conversations could be heard by everyone else. The breakfast definitely exceeded our expectations - for £20 total, the two of us enjoyed 2 courses and coffee. And there were healthy options rather than the “full English” list of cooked breakfasts. Granola (which, I am thrilled to say, did not come in a plastic pottle!) for us both, and later a bacon roll and a cinnamon roll. The cabinet food looked expensive (£4.50 for the cinnamon roll), so the menu items must have been especially excellent value, as was the coffee. Everything came out in good time, and you can pour your own water so it’s a good spot for rehydrating. For parking, the Dallas Rd carpark is just a 5 minute walk away. The cafe is also close to the station, if you are arriving in Lancaster by train. One to remember.

We came here for a quick lunch, 2 adults and 2 kids. The cafe is well stocked with a lot of choice of coffee and teas. The barista who took our order was extremely helpful, they were more than happy to customise their sandwiches to cater for our kids preferences. The food and drink arrived promptly and was tasty, made with good quality ingredients, four drinks and four sandwiches came to about £35.

With a very early start that morning and now time to kill between trains at Lancaster we walked towards town from the station looking for breakfast and came across the Printroom Cafe and were so glad we did. A lovely lady serving behind the bar took our order and brought us delicious food - /real/ bacon in the bacon sandwich and lovely crunchy toast under my eggs. We shall be visiting again when doing train journeys via Lancaster.

Why do cafes like The Print Room buy the cheapest ingrediants and charge top prices? Their loose leaf black tea is unbelievably awful. Just one sip leaves a really nasty bitter taste on your tounge. It really could not be drunk. A whole bag of decent Yorkshire loose leaf tea costs the same as one cup of Print Room tea. I went home and made a pot of decent tea!

We had an academic conference dinner for around 40 guests at The Printroom Cafe/Storey (hosted in the Music Room). The venue were completely receptive to our requests, which resulted in a lovely, varied tapas-style menu, presented in a banquet style, giving people plenty of opportunity to chat and mingle. Feedback from attendees was excellent, and we would be happy to host future events here.

Small independent cafe located in the tourist information office with a variety of seating options inside & outside. We got there at 11.00 when I thought the food choice was a bit limited but the quality was very good and there was enough for our mid morning break. Coffee was above average and better than some of the big chains.

Customer service awful. I ordered and paid for 2 coffees, only one was brought to the table. I went to counter to ask for the other, was told that I only ordered one and the receipt (which I had not been given)only said one. The member of staff insisted that it was my mistake, another member of staff said “Oh well if she says she has paid better give her another coffee then”. I was made to feel like I was conning them and I was rather upset.Needless to say neither of us enjoyed our coffees in this atmosphere and we will not visit this cafe again.

Not impressed. Arrived for a pre-booked lunch on Saturday, but not welcomed at the bar and left standing for some minutes. Was seated in a dark room with no heating and only given one of two possible menus. We told waitress the room was very cold and she simply replied 'yeah, it is'. Left to pay for the 2 drinks we had as decided not to stay and eat, and again left waiting while 4 members of staff chatted near us. Had to specifically ask to pay for our drinks and wasn't asked at any point why we'd decided not to stay. Left and ate in a nearby garden centre, which was a much better experience all round. Won't be visiting the hotel again, at least not to eat.

Used to be the best place in Lancaster by miles. The Goliath with tattoos is the most iconic failure of customer service you could ever encounter. so rude and abrupt, had the pleasure of the previous staff that were the polar opposite. The place is dead these days, I still go in hoping to see the old guard but alas still the scowling Angel that can’t be arsed.

Wow. Terrible service. Booked a table online but they seemed not to know we were coming. 3 of us but shown to a table with 2 chairs and left to find the third for ourselves. Expensive 'mocktail' spilt but no offer of a replacement. Food order lost, starter finally arrived 1 hour 30 mins after time of table booking. Then left staring at empty plates while staff dusted bottles on the top shelf and cleared empty tables elsewhere. Decided to cut our losses and leave, hungry, instead of waiting an age for main courses to arrive. Terrible evening. Real shame. I really can't suggest its worth going.

We popped in just for a hot drink and a special mince-pie (warm with cream) but decided on soup and a sandwich also. We had pea and ham soup, which was delicious plus a ham and cheese sandwich. The Ham was excellent! Earl grey tea and coffee also to be recommended. Very pleased - we will return!
