well again, finally finding this place open at the 4th attempt was a relief. Nice coffee and pleasant couple who run it. great location next to the train station, so if you're waiting for a train and if it's open! then worth popping in.

Location next to the station. Just a few tables. Menu is not large but no worse for that. A nice choice and all freshly cooked. Some interesting cooked breakfast choices. Crumpets with cheese on the menu as well.. Hot tea (not always a given) and good coffee. Friendly welcome. Note they only appear to be open Thursday to Sunday from 10am. Not sure what time they close but I assume its not late.

'The Wayside' is a regular stop on our local cycle rides and we always get a friendly welcome from Helen and Dan. The menu offers a variety of interesting snacks and meals and I would certainly recommend the toasted filled bagels (Serrano ham & pickles with mustard mayo today - Delish!!). The Bakewell tart is also a favourite of mine. Perhaps because of its size it has very welcoming atmosphere and we often get to chat with fellow cyclists and other locals and visitors.

its a 50-50 chance this place will be open when/if you visit. Very difficult to plan a visit, although its not really somewhere you'd plan to go and more a handy take-away place, if you want an average coffee on your way to the train station. Although it opens just before runs and closes just after. so us commuters from Arnside never get that chance ! Its a shame and very frustrating, as I'm sure with the location it could be very popular, if they'd put the same effort as the origami they have in the window. Food is limited and uninspiring, Arnside desperately needs a kick up the backside on the food & coffee front as there's not one decent place since pre-covid days.

Since Helen & Dan opened the Wayside we have been regular customers. A lovely warm, friendly place. Dan is a fabulous chef - his hollandaise sauce is the best I’ve ever eaten. And his cheese scones are to die for. The cafe is ideally placed opposite the station and on a national cycle route, so perfect for cross-bay walkers and cyclists to stop for a bite to eat and a drink. We often drop in for brunch after a dog walk - it’s dog-friendly too.

I fell into this cafe exhausted and hungry after a long day’s walking, and although they were about to close, they rustled up a fantastic hot snack, a decent cuppa and the best cheese scone ever! Helen and Dan were so very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and I left with a renewed spring in my step. A fabulous modern-style cafe!

I’d just had to walk six miles as my bike chain had failed, when I found this place while I was waiting for my train. Friendly service, a decent menu (if a little…well, little), and my hosts’ local knowledge was a really helpful touch. The ambience inside is relaxed, the food is very good; seems like there’s a nice bit of local produce on the menu as well. A really useful little gem right outside the train station and easily accessible from walking and cycling routes in beautiful surroundings. I’ll be back 👍🏻✅

Our second visit was as good as the first. Not a huge menu but everything is done beautifully. My wife had a honeyed halloumi bun, which she said was gorgeous. Will have to go back for a third visit.

We visited here a couple of times when staying nearby and each time the service was so friendly and welcoming. The food and coffee were delicious, and the gluten free bacon sandwich was amazing with the homemade tomato chutney. We love to support local independent businesses like Wayside Cafe and this was a welcome discovery just opposite Arnside train station. Thank you for such a warm welcome.

Great little cafe. It’s now our ‘go to place’ for lunch after a walk up Arnside Knott. Got to replace that energy somehow! Had a lovely filled roll and coffee and cake. Excellent value and Helen & Dan the owners are lovely.

We had brunch here before heading off to do the Cross Bay walk. Even though we were already soaked to the skin and dripping rainwater everywhere the waitress was very welcoming. We ordered coffee and bacon rolls with homemade tomato chutney which were delicious. My flat white was perfect; right temperature and a good rich flavour. The whole place, though tiny, had a lovely quirky vibe, and even better for being slightly away from the business of the centre of Arnside, but right opposite the train station. Highly recommended

A delightful little cafe, help with parking the bikes outside. Superb food, I had a fritata, very tasty. Just a lovely feel to the place. Cakes looked great too.

Visited here with my Dad today. Asked for a tea cake and then a scone both not on the menu anymore. I had a bagel with salmon and cream cheese paid over £8 and that was it no sides, no even a bit of salad - didn’t taste great. Dad ordered pancakes in the end 2 tiny pancakes on a dish - still hungry when we left. Not great service either. Disappointed!

Called in for a coffee and snack after our frequent walk along the bay and round back into Arnside. When this first opened I was a little wary as we are used to small intimate tea/coffee shops in Arnside. However this was our second visit and as we entered we were greeted by obviously the front of house guy “David”. Wow does this guy know how to do it Welcoming ,friendly, Northern (always a bonus). Had a lovely coffee and Hubby had a great crisp bacon bun. The vibe in this cafe/restaurant is great., modern but great service. We live quite locally and are encouraged to go in the evening now as well. In our opinion the best restaurants are always about the front of house and Crossfields has it right. Everyone in this place has a great view of our beautiful Morecambe bay.

Called here for a takeaway lunch, used them several times before. Service was disappointing to say the least. Not a please or thankyou from the ladies working in the shop - even when I pointed out they'd only charged me for 1 flat white! Previous reviews also highlight the fact that the staff are miserable, they respond but do nothing to address the concerns raised. Also, I would've thought that as u was the only customer in the shop on a very wet day would have been positive for them - obviously not! Not sure I'll return here.

Stopped to have a tea, latte and a slice of carrot cake. Great service and a huge slice of cake that we shared. Great value for money.

Went in after I missed breakfast one morning and can't wait to go back! The staff at Mio Mondo were so nice and patient with me while I was choosing. I'm a picky eater so it was appreciated that I had time to choose, food came out piping hot and was so good! Their homemade cakes were delicious as well! 🍰
