The best restaurants in Stockport North West

Absolutely loved this place my sons wedding it was superb last Sunday the food was excellent the staff couldn’t do enough for everyone they work so hard to make sure the day is special above and beyond the scenery is perfect for photos inside and out

Excellent selection of well kept ales ,A no nonsense menu of pies , Excellent quality,Friendly,unobtrusive barman ,Great atmosphere with the Regulars

Food is amazing very reasonably priced staff were very friendly and all orders were made to order . Place very clean and outdoor seating was a lovely bonus and well maintained

Lees does a magnificent sweet and sour chicken, rice and chips are splendid as well .I like their special fried rice. i have been a customer for many years. My other half has been a customer since they opened. Just last week it was packed out with people ordering Chinese meals. From what customers told me some people travel a good distance to get their meals. We live nearby. Viv G.

I can 100% recommend this restaurant Although small the tables are well spaced and plenty of room especially with COVID restrictions Visited last night, a Saturday, and every table was taken so glad we booked on line Only 1 waitress on and she did everything. I presume maybe down to the times we’re in at the moment. She took and made the drinks order. Took food orders, served & cleared plates and finally cleaned and disinfected tables for next guests There was a small wait for food but not really a problem and a decent gap between courses is not a bad thing. When the food arrived it was piping hot and very tasty. We sent back completely empty plates. There didn’t appear to be any dessert menu but we’d had a great starter and main meal. We didn’t need one as we were full so didn’t ask. The drinks are reasonably priced too. Will be making a return visit to try more of the menu

Best place in Stocport for breakfast and dinners. Great banter and atmosphere and super value for money. X

My daughter in law invited me to attend Santa’s Grotto at Chai with my grandchildren, and it was a lovely afternoon. We parked for free on a nearby street and arrived to a warm welcome at the allocated time. The children got a cookie and a hot chocolate as well as Reindeer food, activities and gifts. We had drinks and the vegan hot chocolate and soya cappuccino were delicious, as was the slice of cake. There was a pleasant feel to the restaurant as well as lovely decor and friendly and caring staff. I will definitely return here soon.

What can you say they are a chip shop and are very very good at it, we are lucky to have such a great chippy in our village.

Coffee good, toast nice, but more than £9 for an English breakfast, is very overpriced. it will be a long time before I go in there again.

Got the combo mixed grill kebab can honestly say best I’ve ever had and I’d highly recommend it to anybody. 10/10. Nathan

I have been twice in the last few weeks. Breakfast choice was good and the full breakfast was freshly cooked and good value for money. Lunch choices were also good. My jacket potato was large and well baked. Two fillings was also not expected. Great value for money. Friendly people. Going to be our regular cafe place.

stumbled on this cafe while being diverted because of building works. What a beautiful church & lovely welcoming atmosphere. There is also a heritage section for research & small gift shop.

Thought we'd visit after reading a report in the Manchester Evening News. Sounded really good given the experience of the owner/operator. Described as deliberately laid back/retro/Artisan/"disorganised"/not overworked. Definitely all of those above, however lack of food care left me unsure. It was 26C outside when we visited and all the days food was on display, without covers, and flies were everywhere. Worst of all Ham sandwiches were on the counter, at room temp, with no covers, not sure how long they'd been there. Only two milk options for coffee, Full fat or Oat and no options on size of coffee portions. I was underwhelmed and very dissappointed, still, you live and learn. I hope they get their act together soon because it's part of a revival of this part of Stockport.

Good meal, we were staying at the local premier inn and ate here. It was a little empty when we arrived at 5.30pm but soon was quite busy. Enjoyed our three courses. I think the starters could have been better but the mains were nice! And enjoyed a Cadbury sundae to finish! We tried the happy hour cocktails and I enjoyed them but maybe could have been tastier. Overall a good evening!! Service good, a bit tired ambience!!
