Photis Chippy in Stockport

What can you say they are a chip shop and are very very good at it, we are lucky to have such a great chippy in our village.

This place does the best Cod hands downs. Chips are nice and chunky. Prices aren’t the cheapest but you get quality and a large portion in return.

Love love love this chippy. Food is tasty and fresh. Great fish, none of this mushy, bleached stuff you get these days. It's a proper English chippy. Highly recommended Miss Smith

We regularly have a fish supper from the Battered cod. The fish is top quality and tasty evey time. Chips cooked crispy and tasty none of those bland mushy things. Staff always polite and helpful. A huge plus to me food is served in paper bags that are recylclable.

This fish and chip shop has changed hands over the years, after it was originally changed to Yannis it significantly improved although it was was still a mixture of a Kebab shop PIzza shop and fish and chips, which eventually went down hill in the quality of food being served and the service given and he then sold out. The last owner completely revamped it and it became a very good traditional Fish and Chip Shop which is very rare these days amongst everyone just adding their menus at the price of the quality of their core food. The latest change of hands has kept the traditional Fish and Chips and the quality of the food is equally good, although the service has gone down hill since the last owners with a constantly changing hands of staff. In an attempt to attract even more customers though they have started to advertise gimmicks like dinner time specials and , happy hours and coffee free together with adding addition signage and colour lighting which is all now starting to give an impression of it becoming cheap and tacky. It was good as it was when they bought it, they should leave the format as it was or they will eventually loose out and just become another tacky take out which we really don't want any more in Gatley. As it is it is one of the best Fish and Chip shops in the area I just hope they done loose it. So they just return to the simple format and introduce service with a smile

Brought fish and chips, and got about 20 chips but at least the fish was ok. Hardly worth the £6.20 for a lunch meal without a decent portion of chips. Put more chips in otherwise I ain’t coming back. Service could also be better!

...food always hot, fresh and very tasty, prompt service and the best mushy peas ever, all pies are Lovely and not microwaved as in others I ve visited. Staff lovely and a great choice for lunchtime or evening meal

I stumbled across this Chippy by accident whilst dropping off customers in my Taxi . I must say they were the best Fish & Chips I have tasted in a long time. The portions were very generous Indeed , just enough batter on the fish with chunky cod and I ate the lot. Very tasty & delicious fish, Chips & Gravy. Just reminded me of the ones I ate as a kid near the seaside. Will definitely visit this one again when I’m near the area
