My daughter in law invited me to attend Santa’s Grotto at Chai with my grandchildren, and it was a lovely afternoon. We parked for free on a nearby street and arrived to a warm welcome at the allocated time. The children got a cookie and a hot chocolate as well as Reindeer food, activities and gifts. We had drinks and the vegan hot chocolate and soya cappuccino were delicious, as was the slice of cake. There was a pleasant feel to the restaurant as well as lovely decor and friendly and caring staff. I will definitely return here soon.

Today, we had our family Christmas meal at Chia Village. It was exceptional as always. The drink choice is always fab! The children loved their mango lassi. The adults enjoyed a variety of different teas. As someone who cannot have caffeine, I always look forward to the beetroot or turmeric lattes. The food is always delicious and prepared with care and attention. It's hard to choose what to eat because everything is delicious. My only error was sharing the white chocolate samosas with my husband and children as I really should've kept them all to myself. The owner and staff are always so lovely and accomodating. We had a perfect family meal and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chia Village.

Probably the best addition to Romiley - we go for Brunch and the food never disappoints. Its not to spicy/hot but full of flavour. Lots of vegetarian options. The good food is paired with exceptional service- qnd if that was not enough- they are dog friendly.

Lovely place to eat. It is great to have a great choice of vegan and vegetarian food. The staff are friendly relaxed and welcoming. They are happy to have little people running around and have a small playroom. The location is just after the garage on the way out of Romiley towards Marple. Highly recommended.

We come here regularly and love it. We’ve brought our toddler since she was 1 and she’s now 3. They have a fantastic little kids area with toys they can play in. The food is delicious as are the drinks and cakes. Prices are great value compared to elsewhere. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

Stopped there on recommendation for the chai tea. Ended up with a beetroot latte, turmeric latte, and cardamom chai tea. Thoroughly enjoyed each of them.

Been to chai village plenty of times for amazing breakfast/ lunch. After 2:30 when hot food stops being served, they still offer lovely cakes / bakes, Coffees, and all the deli items, As I had arrived after 2:30 one of the staff members made me a ‘trio plate’ with samosas and other deli! she explained the owner has little ones so needs to do the school run, so make sure to come before 2:30 for hot food, but if not the trio plate ( deli and samosas) were amazing we also had a biscoff cake which was so delicious. The owner and staff are so lovely and very accommodating.Would definitely recommend. We try something new on the menu every time we go and are never disappointed. I have had many conversations with multiple members of staff as I’m a regular ( The girls know my order without asking now! 😂) all the girls are so friendly and polite. After reading one of the reviews i would find it hard to believe any staff member at Chai village being unhelpful or rude. As this is not the case. Chai Village is Definitely worth a visit.

The food and service is ALWAYS AMAZING here, have visited countless times and have never, ever been disappointed. Ignore the review giving 1 out of 5 when the customer arrived AFTER they stopped serving food- the cafe only has a tiny kitchen and I think they do an amazing job of cooking such delicious, fresh food in such a small space. If you arrive after they have finished serving food, the equipment will have all been switched off and some staff may have left; to expect a small, independent business to cater to your every whim when you arrive AFTER food has stopped being served is incredibly rude and entitled. They still serve drinks and cakes after 2:30pm anyway, which are also delicious! Keep doing what you’re doing girls, it’s fabulous.

Arrived three minutes after 14:30 and refused to serve us food. It wasn't busy. The staff were not helpful. Most disappointing. If I'm in Romiley again, I may try it. but I would NEVER travel to Romiley just for Chai Village. Also 50 p for soya milk? Vegan tax not cool.

Staff act like they don’t want you there. Walked in and waited a few seconds to be greeted. Never happened (3 members of staff all behind the counter). Sat down on a table and grabbed ourselves menus, looked through for 5 mins. Still not acknowledged or greeted. Went to the till and ordered, the only bit of conversation received was “eat in or take out”. In such a manner I felt they might be closing soon and may be annoyed that we’ve come in close to closing time. So I asked what time they close the girl said 10pm. It was 8:30pm. So I chose to eat in. The food was brought to us and the person walked away as fast as possible without even asking if we needed anything else or wanted to order drinks. Honestly agree with the other 1 star reviews this place isn’t going to last long at all if the staff have this mentality and approach

We used to love coming here as the service is fantastic from Collette & Paula the food went down hill very fast so we stopped going but loved the girls here so we returned yesterday Collette was fantastic as always but the food was disgusting I had burger & chips which was a cheap frozen burnt burger no bacon no dirty chips I couldn’t eat it my husband ordered the Fish & Chips large it was minuscule and the fish was a rectangular frozen fish with 10 super greasy chips. The kitchen is filthy & smells of old burnt fat which we could all taste. AVOID this restaurant it’s over priced and disgusting!

Fabulous cream tea with great, attentive staff. Very retro style, although the loos are a bit strange having no sort of ante-room. Just walk in straight off the pub floor. Maybe a trellis screen or something outside might help. However, the decor in the loos is pure 80s, and I loved it. The dog was given dog treats and ice cubes, which she enjoyed. The only real moan was that the music was a bit loud, especially as we went in at 4.30 pm. Turn it up for the evening crowd by all means, but a bit much for afternoon. I'd highly recommend.
