We went for lunch and ordered on the app. Service was good, food was basic and lacking filling (we had gyros which had very little meat) . Chips were great.....music in conservatory section a touch too loud to have a chat as the speakers are directly above the seating. Nice surroundings.... would return for a cheap lunch.

Words can't describe how horrific this chippy is. From the staff getting the order wrong twice . To dropping half the food and having to re do it . Chips whiter than the boiled rice . Warm and soggy well undercooked even the bin refused them . Definitely wouldn't go backnor recommend . Stay away

Didn't even know these existed until recently. Really cheap price wise. Good service from staff. Large selection. I went for a cheese toasties, as I wanted something light. I wasn't disappointed. Really cheesey taste, bread was soft; and at ÂŁ3.25 its not bad value for eating in. Definitely worth seeking out

Bold st on a Saturday evening , without a reservation. Not a good idea! After 2 rejections elsewhere,we were seated in Toros. Was this a reason to worry? I admit my expectations were on the low side ⌠however the good was actually decent . I had a perfectly cooked rare sirloin on a sizzler plate . It was a large portion and was exceptionally good value for money. Iâm not 100% convinced that it was sirloin as it came out in 4 large slices and looked like every other dish emerging from the kitchen⌠but taste wise , very good. Toroâs wont win any awards , but I would return and thatâs surprised me !

It was great to find a restaurant serving more interesting food than the standard fare. Not busy when we went for a late lunch on a Saturday, but not empty either. It's order at the counter rather than table service. Staff were very friendly and the food arrived promptly. They didn't have my first choice main, but all our party enjoyed the favours and generous portion size. No desert needed! Great discount for students, Blue Light card - and we were given a 'Discount for Teachers' reduction without question, which made it reasonably priced. I'd certainly consider going again to try some more items from their interesting menu.

Visited on Sunday 27th Oct, and have to say it was the worst experience I've had in town, ordered the meal and a drink, the drink was ok, no issues on that, the issue we had was due to the food. When the food turned up the majority of the food was cold, the rest was luke warm, the fish batter was limp rather than crispy and I didn't even taste the peas on the plate, they did not look appetising, my friend's meal was very similar but he had raw chips on his plate, we didn't eat the meal, I went to the bar to speak with the supervisor and was told she would come and speak with me, she sent the waitress over to find out the problem, spoke with the waitress, who was lovely, said she would speak to the supervisor, they offered to replace the chips, I told her no thanks and could I speak with the supervisor, once again the waitress was sent back to us and said the supervisor would reduce our bill by 30%, I wasn't looking for this but requested the bill, they knocked 30p off the bill, i said this is not 30%, and once again the poor girl had to go and speak with the supervisor, she apologised for what had happened, I told her this wasn't her fault and the supervisor should have come over to rectify this issue, we did end up with 30% off the bill but bearing in mind we were still hungry and ended up getting proper fish and chips from the Lobster Pot and paying out more money!!! Not knocking the lobster pot BTW đ I am definitely not recommending this place and will not go again Ps the waitress was lovely and I give her 5âď¸

You canât really go wrong with Pieminster. Always an excellent pie with quality sides, catering to all dietary preferences/requirements, whichever of their restaurants you visit. Unfortunately at their Liverpool location, service really doesnât stack up. Service got off to a rocky start when I was informed that draft beers were unavailable as they were changing all of the barrels over. I said nevermind, Iâll take a can, but would happily wait a couple of minutes to finish changing the barrels and have a draft. I was then informed that they were being changed ânext weekâ as they had no fresh barrels to change to, therefore itâd have to be a can??? Food was about a 30 minute wait, as reiterated to a group of diners who entered after we ordered. Not a problem by any means but the restaurant was very quiet and only three or four tables were seated when we entered, so I dread to imagine how long service would take when the place is at capacity. I suppose itâs not really any wonder how quiet the restaurant is, given that their website says they arenât even open on a Sunday. We really enjoyed our meals when they got to us, but our portions of gravy were only half filled. As typical northerners, this was instantly clocked as a problem and more gravy was requested as soon as our food arrived đ. 10 minutes pass, food nearly finished, not a drop of gravy remains. I ask the other member of wait staff - as the fella I initially asked had done about 10 laps past our table in this time and had clearly forgotten entirely. She brought a single portion over (I reiterate, weâre northerners - youâre gonna need a bigger boat!). While we waited for her to bring our gravy, I noticed her deliver a couple fresh pints of draft beer to another table⌠Clearly they practice witchcraft here as a week can pass in the space of an hour. Or maybe I really was waiting an entire week here for extra gravy⌠Who knows⌠Table cleared, no deserts offered. Fine, I guess weâll take the bill and head off then! Oh right, subject to that 10% discretionary service charge that your menu states is only applicable to parties of six or more (there was four of us). Of course the discretion is all down to you as a diner, you canât really expect the staff to use common sense and knock it off when they know thereâs been a shortfall in their service? No. You can make the awkward request yourself, and then when the waitress looks you in the eye like youâve just insulted her whole family, huffs and chuffs back to the kitchen for a replacement bill, you begin to wonder if maybe youâre being unreasonable. Frankly, I donât think itâs fair to just bump service charges without a valid reason, or to just keep it to yourself and hope the staff read the feedback from your mind on how they can improve. In most UK cities, a service charge is the norm, and whatâs an extra couple of quid on the bill matter after a nice meal with good service? Well when I let her know that we wouldnât have an issue with the SC if not for the shortfall with the refusal to serve me a pint or some extra gravy promptly (which they charged us ÂŁ1.50 for one more pathetically small boat - or dinghy, which would be a much more appropriate term for that vessel!). Major attitude problem when she starts trying to cut me off after every word saying nothing besides âokâ. My conspiracy theory? These guys are downsizing portions on a quiet night trying to rinse a bit of extra money on the service charge when you buy extras. No pints of beer, why not spend more on two cans? Half servings of gravy, pay us ÂŁ1.50 each to make it a full one? I know this isnât the norm for Pieminster, having dined at their other restaurants previously - but itâs very disappointing nonetheless. Fortunately after a quick trip to the Tesco round the corner to buy something sweet to follow our meals with, and after spending the money we saved on service charge on snacks for the homeless fella outside, we knew the money had gone to someone more deserving.
